Just wanted to pop in and say that I really appreciate the way you incorporate your religion in your videos without being preachy or "holy". I'm not religious, and I usually tune out when creators bring up religion or church, but you always frame it in such a relatable and inclusive way that I don't mind at all - and that says a lot (maybe more about me than you, but I'll work on that 😉)
Give Max a big hug from me 💚

Interesting car chat today, especially about coping and healing being opposites. I don't tend to agree with those kinds of phrases because it implies you can heal yourself from anything just through determination/ motivation/ devotionals. Living with several illnesses and disabilities, I shy away from 'healing' talk because none of my health problems are curable and I've had enough false hope for a lifetime. There are days when all I can do is cope, because I will never stop wanting to be healed. But on an emotional level, I do understand it. There are days when you have to force yourself to do better and be better, myself included. (This comment is in no way against you, just sharing my own personal opinion) 🤍

Jesus gives you hope and helps you cope. As someone who is also unhealed and through the journey found Jesus so much more and more. Coping is not a bad thing, like with hope if you have none you'll lay flat on the floor unable to move forward. I'd say distractions that deter you from confronting the issue and moving forward is more of the issue ... maybe that's what he meant. ( also not said against your statement but as a comment with it)

I understand what you’re saying friend. I struggle w mental illness which is a monster day to day, sometimes hour to hour. But i do believe in hope and healing …i really do…for me AND for you. Something i try very hard to do is to find hope in even the tiniest things. It may be walking down the street on a hot day and the Lord sends a strong breeze that fills your lungs and brings refreshment. Hang on to every little bit of hope you can find and i believe healing will follow along (slow though it may be) prayers for you friend!

I am a believer that coping allows space and time to heal- not that “healing” is ever something that can be achieved. We make meaning of the things that happen to us in our lives in order to keep going. And often, that takes time to figure out. We must do what we can to get through until we reach a point where we can make meaning and incorporate that meaning into our perspective of life moving forward.

I completely understand your struggles with eating. I'm the exact same way about mealtimes and cooking, shopping and preparing food. My stomach is so temperamental when it comes to food, that I sometimes eat the same 3 meals in a loop because 1. They won't trigger my stomach and 2. There's just not enough room left in my brain for it. But I did reach out about it and I've started to see a Food Trainer to see what advice they can offer me.

I'm in a season of life when cooking and meal prep is more challenging than in past seasons. What I've done for myself is create a list of ideas that I put on the fridge. When I make a grocery list, I pick up these convenience items for high-protein snacking. Cheese sticks, turkey jerky, turkey pepperoni, carton of eggs for boiled eggs, canned soups, pre-made salad kits, Greek yogurt cups, frozen chicken fingers, steaming bag frozen veggies, cream cheese for bagels, can you tell I love dairy? LOL of course what foods would be on the list would be unique to each person but it is helpful to have the reminders. Then I usually make a pot of chili or casserole of some kind that I really like so I can eat that for dinner for a few nights in a row. Hope that helps

I really loved the explanation of coping vs healing I never thought of it that way ❤️ the stroll through the reserve and seeing the beautiful Peacocks thank you. There is an area near me in Florida where the peacocks run loose in a neighborhood it is great to see them just roam, we do have to stop and let them walk across the road. I love your hair, I’m going in 3 weeks to go lighter and I can’t wait for a new change. I have suffered from IBS for the past 50 years and it is so hard to eat food, there is no rhyme or reason when a food will not agree with me. Thank you so much for your car chat and of course the entire video❤️❤️❤️

Talking about food, stress and anxiety can prevent us from slowing down, so food/cooking is the last thing we want to think about. I have found that forcing yourself to slow down, looking up recipes, and enjoying the process of cooking can be very healing and also healthier than quick meals, you'll find that you'll start to feel better as a result of eating better but also taking the time to take care of yourself and have some down time in the kitchen

Figuring out food is difficult especially when cooking for 1! I usually like to just come up with 2 or 3 meal options for the week and then eat those leftovers for lunch and dinner so I'm not cooking every day. Also have been freezing parts of thos extra portions to eat on the days I'm really out of ideas.

I’m so glad you are recognizing that you need to eat more meals now because eating disorder are so sneaky. As someone type A and high achieving also which is a very common characteristic of those who have or have had or are at risk for eating disorders, it is easier to get then one thinks. I went through a lot of trauma and change and food became something I could control and manage or forget about on purpose and it can start as easy as exercising and eating healthy a little bit more to eating nothing. Having an eating disorder is a miserable existence, and I am so grateful I am free from it but it takes a lot of work and time and healing and understanding why you had one because it’s not about food it’s usually about pain and control and anxiety and fear that one has in their life. Also sometimes drinking too many caffeinated beverages can decrease appetite and that can also be an unhealthy behavior if left unchecked. I would not wish the mental torture and self hatred that this disorder brings on anyone. Continue to be mindful and know that you deserve delicious food and you deserve to take time for yourself to make or buy food that brings you joy.

I have an amazing Seed success story for you! On your rec I started taking for myself and noticed a huge difference in my digestive health (less bloating, trapped gas, constipation..). I got my mother, who has Crohn's disease, to start taking as well. You will be amazed at the health benefit she has seen. Her digestive health has been feeling so much better (she started to actually form real stools), and she brought it to the attention of her doctor. Her doctor ran tests to see how all her levels were, and amazingly, all her levels have gone up!! Her doctor says it is because she is actually starting to digest her food properly and able to absorb all the nutrients, minerals, vitamins, etc!! She 100% thinks it is all due to Seed, as that is the only thing she has changed. It blows my mind that something as simple as a good probiotic could have such a health benefit for someone with an autoimmune disease such as Crohn's. Thank you so much for bringing it to our attention! This is the best my mother has felt in decades!

If you find that you crave soup and have a hard time managing planning meals, you should get those soup ice cube trays. Then you can make some and store it for the time that you need something easy and good. You can also buy multiple servings of soup and freeze it.

I always say eat 3 meals and 2 snacks daily. When you grab a granola bar it’s because your not eating a meal so grab a fruit too. Make that a conscious thought.
Also prepare fruits and veggies at the beginning of each week so they can be grabbed easily.

I can relate to not knowing what to eat. It’s helped me to create a list of things I want to eat for the week. I don’t always get to make everything because the leftovers last awhile, but if you cook casseroles, you can always freeze some of it, but it will give the option to eat it if you want. I actually got tired of the meal subscription freshly, but my husband still loves them.

Somethings just can't be fixed...I learned to just give the heartache to God. When your spouse has mental problems, and mine did. You sometimes have to let go and let God...yup can be hard not to pick up the burden again...but God is always there to either help you carry it or take the whole load if you let Him...He is my very best Friend. Life is hard...Heaven is the wonderful reward...and it 65 that thing I heard my parents say is now true for me as well...this old world just doesn't feel like home anymore. I'm looking forward more and more to my Heavenly home...no more pain, or sickness...no tears...I think I've cried an ocean full...who knew you had so many tears. And like my dad Heaven is so real to me that tears flow easily...over the littlest things. I do not attend church anymore for more than one reason...but tears are a big one. People think I'm under conviction, when all it, is that songs and words touch so deeply that my face is wet with tears, shoulders shaking. They are happy tears, tears of longing...oh to sit at Jesus feet and thank him. Yes I want to see Jesus most of all...and my parents. Getting teary-eyed as I write this.😊😢😄

Recognizing negative thoughts for what they are and consciously deciding to fight them and push them out of our heads before they conceive and bring forth fruit brings true victory.

I disagree - fighting/pushing away negative thoughts tends to only fuel them. Instead, stepping back & acknowledging the thoughts, recognizing you don't have to act on them, and letting them pass is a really powerful way to not let them take over

I appreciate the response. I have tried this Buddhist approach in the past (acknowledgement, acceptance, waiting for it to pass), but I found this too passive. Recognizing a problem then actively combating it brought me more lasting results. I chose a more Christian approach.

Girl, you are not alone with the bad eating habits. I have lupus also so I went for my follow up and explained some things and got blood work and essentially I'm malnourished which sounds so dramatic but I'm notorious for being "too busy" to eat so I will snack once then eat a dinner. We have to nourish our bodies!! So I set the goal of eating 3 meals a day (what a concept lol) may look into daily harvest for some easy prep to have on hand! Take care of yourself. These autoimmune diseases take enough energy from us, we have to do our part to be as healthy as possible! Love ya!

we have to be careful with the whole 'coping is the opposite of healing' concept. For a lot of people its an achievement to get out of bed, its an achievement to have a meal during the day. Executive dysfunction isn't something that's widely known but not everyone has their mental bar at the same level. My mother also could only go out every second day or she'd lose the rest of the week to physical exhaustion (she had a degenerative muscular condition). For many coping is a step towards healing. For someone who regularly has no control over stepping back due to health, maintaining their spot standing still is a big achievement. Its also important to celebrate our little victories rather than idolizing the big achievements and hating ourselves for being so far away from them. Kindness and love to ourselves always. Push forward when we're able, but understand and celebrate where we're at, no matter our physical or mental state. There's so much stress and expectation in life that's just not worth our mental space, so its important to value self first always.

I find when I do the food stuff just for myself I don't make as good of meals. Some because recipes are really elaborate, some because my family recipes feed a village, some because I don't feel like going through all the effort for one serving. It's definitely something I've worked on as well and easy meals make it a bit easier! I haven't loved the meal prepped foods but ready made I think is where it's at for now!

I have a hard time with meals as well. Not a big breakfast eater but I always get coffee in a small sandwich or coffee and a granola. Then maybe a snack hard boiled egg or peanuts and then a lunch I keep lunch meat in the house or I have a peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or noodles. And then dinner I just made pork chops or something with meat and vegetables for dinner. What I do whenever I'm struggling is write down ideas for a couple days for breakfast and lunch and dinner don't just write down one thing for each of those days right a few things so that way you're prepared for whatever you're hungry for

I love your hair! You could cook chicken breast at the beginning of the week and use for different meals, salads etc and keep cooked chicken in the freezer. You can always microwave or boil frozen veggies. Stay sweet Hunny 😀

One of the most horrifying things….to be woken out of a dead sleep by the scream of a peacock. It knocked 10 years off my life. My sister-in-law lives in Florida and her last house for some reason, had random peacocks wandering the neighborhood. You had to spray them with your water hose to keep them off your yard and car 😂

On the topic of negative thoughts...I do the following and it works for me.I was a very negative and fearful person and now I do what stands in 2Kor 10:5. I am taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Jesus Christ.I pray this every time the enemy tries to plant a negative thought. It works for me😁😁

Michel your hair looks AMAZING!!! Blonde looks good on you! I really loved seeing the peacocks 🦚💙💜. I LOVE PEACOCKS!!! Don't you just love how fluid their bodies & feathers are when they walk?! I was curious if the place you went would let you keep any tail feathers if you found any on the ground? Now that would be a fabulous souvenir to remind you of the day with the peacocks 🦚. Sure hope Max gets a new bone 🦴 😁. Give Max hugs for me 🤗. Have a wonderful day Michel 😊. Prayers & Wishes Lisa Hampton 😃

I'v been doing things by myself, church, live alone etc (I do have a lot of single friends 😉)and its gets easier as time goes on....Does your church have a welcoming committee ? I get the difference between coping and healing...interesting... Those peacocks are cool !! 🦚
Cooking for one is hard, I got an air fryer, a small one, easy for one and easy clean up...love the hair ! Put a penny in the water of the flowers, they'll stay open 🥀

I love to cook. ...it's become chilly again so going to make my chicken noodle soup, with onion and carrots, I use a large can of cooked chicken and broth. Add more broth and gluten free curly pasta. Mmmm...so good. Cooking makes me happy, I can sit and read, yes read a cookbook😊. Also salmon patties are calling to me...last night it was a hamburger and salad. Today my tummy was off...so left over mashed potatoes, and 2 large fried eggs...and a small bowl of fresh fruit...my Byrne dairy does a fruit cup of strawberries, blueberries, red and green grapes. And I'm craving pizza😆

Yes! Throw that bully stick away as soon as it gets small enough to be something that could get lodged in Max’s throat. My parents almost lost their little guy over a bully stick 😢

The pieces are called face framing
I also suggest to get ends trimmed every 3-6 months and not any longer. It helps with growth as well.
Going to church alone shouldn’t be hard. We don’t go for others. We go for ourselves.
I am divorced and I have to sit alone but I don’t run from it v
