Yeah, Illya as a whole (from FSN, and not Prisma Illya's bastardization of her) is very tragic as well. I absolutely love the fact that her sacrifice in HF is more than just some teary-eyed moment or another character death of no significance (like any of the deaths in Apocrypha), in that it symbolizes Shirou’s human failings and the impossibility of the task he’s always set out to do, namely “to save everyone.” He explicitly promises to save Illya in the route at one point, and she knows this-but still sacrifices herself for him anyway, as if telling him how futile such a desire is.
Well, the Kuro Illya wasn't that bad. Thought at this point, you even forgot that this is supposed to be her series. LOL. BTW, who is Illya againt? XD.

Forced to take part in death game. In the end the only happy momment in her life is talk with Shirou during grocery shopping :( In the end despite having hellish life, she is still willing to sacrifice herself to save the world twice. What is more, to save somebody she was brainwashed to hate. The thing about Sakura is that she eventually manages to find freedom and love. In all endings. seriously Type moon, give that poor child a break :( If it wasn't for Fate/hollow ataraxia and Emiya-san chi, this game would traumatise me.........
When Shirou holds Miyu's hand and she goes to the Illyaverse, it reminded me of when, in Digimon, Tai returns to the Digital world. Both situations are very different and at the same time very similar, and I cried in both moments.

True. The original grail actually was a holy vessel that was intended to be used for the betterment of mankind. It was human greed and ignorance that allowed ultimate evil to hide itself inside of it.
GokuForHire SOOON Miyu's world is dying so there would be no place where she would be safe there and since the Ainsworth family will never stop hunting her, the Grail did the best possible option for granting the wish which was to transport Miyu away to another world where Miyu was technically safe in.
It really shows the hardwork of Shirou for his little sister......to the point where he abandoned himself and the entire world just for Miyu. BEST ONII-CHAN IN FATE 💙💙
actually it is not really "evil" if you read the manga, using miyu was the easiest way to solve the problem, but not the ONLY way as alt shirou never thought that enemies could become allies and even chloe gave some lesson to him because everyone just gave up on trying another way to save the world.
Ainsworths,people who wanted use Miyu are arrogant,selfish, and heartless fools. Instead of finding another way to save their world,they wish to use Miyu as Holy Grail by kidnapping her twice from Shirou and Illya,sacrificing her,taking away her life and happiness. This is like final decision in game Life is Strange,where you must sacrifice either her best friend or entire town. I would never sacrifice someone precious to me,even for entire world. Ainsworths are fools who only cares for their own survival and they see humans only as tools,not as someone precious. Shirou only fought to save Miyu,her beloved sister who would give his life for her. Taking innocent lives to save world is stupid,it's not justifying.

It's really just based off of your ideology and morality... If you think it's worth saving the world by sacrificing someone precious (like Kiritsugu) then that's your choice same vice versa.

He didn't want to kill Sasuke, so he made it seem like Sasuke just slipped by instead of him letting him go. If we were put in the position of Itachi, I'm sure there'd be a worse outcome.
Well this Shirou has gone through arguably just as much stuff as Kiritsugu. Lost his parents to a disaster (non-Grail related this time as evident by Kiritsugu continuing his Magus Killer persona) Lost his father figure (Kiritsugu) Was betrayed by his best friend (Julian) Had his sister kidnapped while he was helplessly impaled by dozens of swords Had a potential love interest die in front of him and her death being his fault Throwing away his ideal only for it to be the only thing that helps him and invades his body And that's not even getting to the months of torture he had to go through after getting captured by the Ainsworths
Kiritsugu saved and raised Shirou, Shirou saved and raised Miyu. Each new link destined for greater things than the last. Just as Shirou tried to be like Kiritsugu, Miyu wants to be like Shirou, going as far as getting eyes like his.

Both went through their hero of justice phase without saving anyone and it’s not until after they fall into hopelessness that they finally save a single person. Alex Deva it means you should already know the events of what has happened. You already know from 3rei that Sakura dies, Shirou can use UBW, and lost against Angelica. Which altogether is the semi-middle and end of the arc. The point of the adaptation is to inspire you to read the source material. In this case you have to. Since only about 12 or 13 chapters have released since this arc ended. No 3rei anime continuation until 2020 or later.
I've put this manga on hold since they announced the movie because i prefer the adaptions for this over the manga, i will catch up after i see the movie though

Hendra Raditya why it's bad idea to watch on local cinema? this FK movie is almost no fanservice (except you think Shirou being badass as fanservice) even on my country it's already confirmed for NGNL movie on local cinema and i can think that NGNL movie will have more fanservice than this movie, so i can say it's safe

That’s intentional. Like Kiritsugu, Shirou failed to save anyone until Miyu. He’s a broken man who finally was able to save a single person and is relieved beyond words.

@@shaifs5072 I was wrong, I think that the scene of Shirou and Miyu in the cave is more of a parallelism with Kiritsugu and Shirou in the fire. A reference would be, if we go to another franchise, that Xenomorph skull in the Predator's ship.
Santi 247 well yes. In this Shirou has very strong parallels to Kiritsugu. Both went through their hero of justice phase without saving anyone and it’s not until after they fall into hopelessness that they finally save a single person. The act of saving a single person is enough to save them from crippling despair.

Alex Deva it means you should already know the events of what has happened. You already know from 3rei that Sakura dies, Shirou can use UBW, and lost against Angelica. Which altogether is the semi-middle and end of the arc. The point of the adaptation is to inspire you to read the source material. In this case you have to. Since only about 12 or 13 chapters have released since this arc ended. No 3rei anime continuation until 2020 or later.
I've put this manga on hold since they announced the movie because i prefer the adaptions for this over the manga, i will catch up after i see the movie though

He does. He takes a page out of Kiritsugu’s book and chooses things that destroy his heart. If you pay attention to 3rei when you first see him, he hates on himself for being the worst kind of evil. Guilt always follows Shirou.
