I understood these topics from Aggregrate functions of SQL and only because you had taken the effort to teach us. You are vey talented in teaching. Keep teaching all us new beginners who are seeking to consume this knowledge and have a better future through improving on these skills. I am trying to gain expertise in SQL queries so that I can be an Ace in managing databases. I'm following you actively and have learnt quite a lot on different areas of programming.
This is seriously the best video I've ever seen on this subject. You helped me pass my databases class with flying colors. Thank you very much for your clear and concise explanation!
Sir, the way you explain is very simple and you also show the scenario how an innocent developer not having expert knowledge would think e.g. here some would logically write where sum(population) > 1000 for filtering instead of using having sum(population) > 1000 on aggregate comparison
Firstly Thanks for the clear explanation of groupby and having clause. I want to know that bit more clear which means how the row and colomn restriction access that applys on group by and having.
SQL Server has a tool called SQL Management Studio which you can install as a separate download. You can use this to run queries and see the results. That is what he is using.
Great !! ... nice explanation.. Well, Can anyone let me know how to write a query if in the same data i wish to ad 100 to the total number of population only for India and not for the other countries. for example : Select population+100 from tblcountry where CountryName = 'India' and then display the same query . so the output should be (as per 4:49 mins of the video) India 4800 ( by adding 100 to all the 3 cells i.e : (1000+100) , (1500+100) , (2000+100) by the order displayed at 0.13. Nepal 1200 Srilanka 500

Actually 1 doubt we can able to use where clause in group by , like here we can use where clause after table name , select sum(population) from tablename where population >500 group by year ... it also execute without any error.. kindly clear it

Here 'where population' doesn't contain aggregate function.

Gud job..
But why should I use SUM at the WHERE statement, when I can just use
WHERE Population > 1000
Thank you so much
Useful
What if I want to sort sum(population) in in desc order instead of getting records >1000
good job..
Thank you! :)

What if we keep a field in group by but don't add it in select clause?
