With all due respect you maybe should have titled this: How to change the handle of an axe if you've never done it before and are learning. No problem with that and I wish people would come clean with their knowledge on this type of site. It's ok to be learning and to do it first time live, brave even. But pitch it as such and in turn teach people how to learn rather than trying to give the impression you know when those that do know can see this is not the greatest job. There's a lot of power in being honest, most of us know shit about almost everything.
The small hand hatchet is not made for chopping, it's for kindling and detail carving. And you should never glue the wedge, use linseed oil on it and the slot before pounding it. Hope this helps you the next time you need to change handle.
The wonder of the Agelsjon "MINI hatchet" is precisely his short handle, if you want a longer handle you should have get the Hultan axe. 👀
Cut what looks to be a perfectly good new handle off the head. That's so sad .

Do you want to sell me the wooden handle taken from the ax?
I need a model.
I'm sure it's cheaper to just buy one in a hardwood store.
