    Man this is awesome. My first gun was my grandfathers 92F from 1988. I was born in 89. Still have it in near perfect condition (missing a badge on the original wood grips)and it still runs perfectly. Awesome vid.

    Riggs and John McClane both upgrade to the 92FS in the sequels, but having an old school 92F would definitely be cool.

    I can't help myself, but now whenever I go into my local pawn shop to see what kind of strange deals they have lurking in the case I hear a voice in my head going, _"U-G-D comin' at you with a...."_ and frankly it's terrifying. Just the other day I was looking at a nice Sig and I almost said _"Let me see that hot rod- ",_ but I caught myself mid-sentence and the guy behind the counter just gave me a strange look.
    If you have kids, I definitely hope you review their Christmas presents for them this way after they unwrap them.

      Technically all new firearms been fired for testing before leaving the factories but I know what you meant lol. I just picked up the M9 Commercial yesterday and I absolutely love it! The wife and I named her Rebecca 😆

      ENZOtaki as you said, you knew what I meant. But for all intents and purposes, never been fired short of the test fires.

    Whenever I see this gun, it reminds me of Police Quest Open Season which was released in 1993. Daryl F. Gates himself was at the helm. The LAPD started giving these to their officers in 1988. In the game, you play Detective John Carey and he carries a 92F identical to this one. One thing that bothered me in the game though is that the guy at the gun range keeps referring to it as a 92FS when it's really a 92F. Beautiful gun and thanks for the review and posting this video! One of the best handguns ever made.

    I've owned my 92F (made in '88) since around '97. A friend owned it and offered it to me for $200. Admittedly, I'd been wanting one since playing the original Resident Evil. Mine has seen a lot of carry and I've got who knows how many magazines, from those I overpaid for when I first bought the gun during the 1994 AWB to those I scrounged up during a couple of decades in the military.
    As for the 92FS, another commenter made a pretty detailed list of differences. I wanted to chime in that I heard years ago that it was military M9s that brought about the change. Supposedly Navy SEALs were having slide separation issues while they were firing hot submachinegun loads in their issued M9s. Beretta fixed the issue by modifying the slide to cam up instead of blowing straight back. Probably urban legend, who knows?

    I have a 92F that I bought in the late 80s. It's made in Italy and has a serial number beginning with C49 so it is a bit earlier than yours. I figure I put about 500 rounds through it. Its not my favorite pistol but it is up on the list.
    My top pistol is the good old 1911 that I used to shoot competition with in the 80s and 90s. I had my first one accurized (trigger work, ported polished, modified extractor, ambidextrous safety, extended mag release, etc.). I wouldn't even begin to guess how many rounds I put through that but I figure over 15,000 on the frame. I've had several barrels for it over the years. It will shoot any US ammo setup as it is. With the cheap Wolf and Tula I had to change the spring not to mention clean the Colt a lot more because that cheap shit was dirty. I shot a fair amount of that cheap stuff when ammo was outrageously priced . . . when 0bama was president.
    My stock unaltered 1911 is nearly accurate as the comp one (9" pie plates at 75 yards) and I haven't done anything to it. I ALWAYS carried my Officers 1911 cocked and locked with one in the pipe.
    I have a Glock 19 among my collection that I carried for a bit but as far as I am concerned the Glocks (and now many others) DON'T have a safety. AND I like 45 cal more than 9mm anyway. I had a 45 long slide Glock for a bit but it didn't fit my hand like the 1911 so I sold it. It took me a bit to get used to Glocks without a safety. A safety is supposed to stop the trigger from firing a round until you release the safety - a tab ON THE TRIGGER doesn't do that. So it is NOT a safety. I still raise my thumb to release the safety sometimes when shooting the Glock 19 at the range.

      After countless searching I Just picked up mine yesterday and it technically was the ONLY M9 in the state of Michigan due to the nationwide shortage going on! The 1911 was my dream pistol from before until I saw lethal weapon and die hard lol. This sucker is packs a punch! The double action works beautiful too. The amount of power/accuracy is mind boggling! Definitely A MUST OWN! 👍

    I own a Beretta 92FS and I love it. In my opinion it's one of the best combat/duty 9mm pistols of all time along with the Glock 19 and the Sig Sauer P226. I have to say that my Glock 19 is definitely the more reliable but the Beretta definitely has the sexy looks.
    😍😍😍😍
    The Beretta has also had the privilege of being the preferred piece of some of the coolest characters in some of the coolest movies of all time. In fact, when I saw it being used by Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon and then John McClane in Die Hard, that's when I fell in love with it.

    I cross my fingers but it might be my first gun. In my country I have to run a stage and some examination to be able to buy a handgun and Umi find a 92f in perfect shape (I don't know the year of manufacture yet) I have to handle it to be sure it will work for me.

  • @NortheastSurvival911
    @NortheastSurvival911 ปีที่แล้ว

    I bought a used one with Hoag wraparound rubber grips... Manufactured in 1993 and you can tell it's been put through its paces.
    Mine is a 92fs model. Pretty sure the only difference is the size of the firing pin and a couple grooves cut under the slide and pieces of protruding metal on the frame that prevent the slide from rocketing off the back hitting anybody in the face.
    And by all means... Please correct me if I am mistaken.
    It's the first authentic Beretta I've ever owned. I have several clones but I mean it's just not the real authentic already you know?
    I tore the firearm apart completely and aside from some very very light wear and tear... All the springs are fine the rifling in the barrel is perfect I mean this gun is PHENOMENAL!! 🔥🔥🔥
    Mine is a USA manufactured model.
    That's a beautiful firearm you have there and I hope it gives you many many years of reliable service 🇺🇸🔥🔥🔥🇺🇸

    God, everything is in practically pristine condition, its like a time capsule from 35 years ago. My first ever pistol was a Harpers Ferry Flintlock. My grandfather made it by hand, but although it did shoot, its more a wall decoration, his Luger became my first practical pistol.

    Whats the different between 92F and the 92FS i have the 92FS

    • @trsgringo
      @trsgringo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In this instance, Google (or Bing) is your friend. Short version: 92FS is a 92F with a large head hammer pivot pin and a slide with a groove/track cut in it where hammer pin head fits. It's purpose is to prevent the rear part of the slide from being able to come flying off the back end of the frame rails and hit the shooter in the face in the possible but very unlikely event that the slide cracked in such a way as to allow the front and rear areas of the slide to separate. The large diameter hammer pivot pin head acts as a stop to limit how far to the rear the slide can move. This was a change to the design that the US government insisted upon during the M9 pistol trials. This change was incorporated into the design of the M9 and the commercial 92FS. Also, as the 92FS has been made over the years, Beretta has made other changes to it. The current 92FS has a frame dust cover that slant down from front to rear, a plastic mag release and recoil spring guide rod, a relief cut at the top of the backstrap where the web of your hand goes, and three dot sights instead of the dot and bar. Stylistically the current commercial M9 is closer in looks to an original 92F. Alright, that wasn't so short.
