Certified Tile installer with 30 years experience. Id like to see the r&d department and chemical engineers of this product try and use this in any setting, much less a commercial job where site conditions won't allow you to do all the steps to supposidly you have to do for a successful job. Now that I've grouted the first 40 ft of a 1200 square ft kitchen floor, I can barely squeeze a sponge! My hands and elbows hurt. Mapei i need my joints to last a lifetime. Thanks for nothing!

Hello, I apologize for the delay in responding. We absolutely test our products in as close to the application setting as possible. Epoxies set up fast and there is no way to slow that down, unfortunately. If your tile experience is generally not epoxy, then there is definitely a learning curve. We do have tips for usage if you would like to call in to Product Support at (800) 992-6273 and ask for Product Advisor #9 I would be happy to walk you through it.

another video from a mapei rep demonstrating keropoxy install. He pooled water on the initial clean, mentioning that there was no issue. Please clarify. (this was kerapoxy not kerapoxy ieg)

Hello Daniel, thanks for reaching out. This was Kerapoxy IEG CQ. In reviewing the video I do not notice standing water in the joint, but you are correct- standing water is not recommended when cleaning any epoxy grout.

What caused effervescence. Charcoal ieg CQ was used. Covered for 72 hours, as this is in an open restaurant.

Hello and thank you for reaching out! Can you please email us at productsupport@mapei.com with photos? It may not be efflorescence, but if water is left on the joints during cleaning it could be epoxy resins. With your information we can troubleshoot what might be happening.

You can't clean this product properly, and the sponges they have no texture, so it's slides over the too without removing all the grout.
