Regarding Homura's headshot, magical girl bodies are just remote vessels. As long as their soul gem is undamaged they'll be fine. But only Homura remembers this and exploits it to fake out Mami.

I don't think Mami ever learned that. She didn't in the series main timeline for at least.

She also kills herself by shooting her own soul gem at the end of that story
@@lazersfixall3939 I never thought about that before, but you are right. In that time line, Mami and Madoka had to have known that breaking a Soul Gem was an instant kill.
@@lazersfixall3939 While i do agree with you that Mami knew that breaking the soul gem means instant death. Thanks to Scene 0 and the main series, Mami clearly doesn't know that the soul gem are the real bodies. Kyubey says that Mami never found out that Soul gems are the real bodies and in Scene 0 flim 2 aka timeline 3, Homura steals Sayaka's soul gem, Sayaka "dies", everyone is shocked including Mami. In the different story, Mami did crushed her soul gem but could have asked Kyubey and learned the truth(Not likely but still a possibility), in timeline 3 aka the one that Mami kills Kyoko, Mami already knew that soul gems separating means "death" so it should not be a huge leap in logic that breaking the soul gem means death. Conclusion, Mami may or may not know that soul gems breaking means death however, one thing's for sure, she doesn't know that the soul gem is the real body. The end.
This ending was inevitable. If Homura's wish is to be powerful enough to protect Madoka, she has to be at least as powerful as Goddess Madoka.

@@azopeopaz3059I think this movie enhances the characters and expands the lore of Madoka. I think rebellion is better than Madoka's "Perfect Ending" because it follows the characters motives completely, Kyubey traps Homura to get Energy. Homura kidnaps Madoka because of Madoka telling Homura she doesn't have courage to leave her(Love of Madoka), Mami saves and gets attached to Bebe because of her loneliness, Sayaka came back to meet Kyoko and have fun again, Kyoko is sad about Sayaka dying. Ect
The gaiden expant the lore without trash the ending. the movie basicaly reopen a story that have his best conclution in the serie now the only think that could is either redo the same ending as the serie or do a lesser ending madoka is a plot driven story the willlpower of the character does not matter the staff behind it know it well that why they wait so long to try to do the film becaus the film is almost doom to faill becaus the good conclution of the story is the ending of the serie @@baikaachyuplays5097

I've always loved the ending of this film, I would have been perfectly fine if there had been no follow up to it honestly.

I (N_AM_E) have seen it before. Zane and Dib have only seen the show and frank hasn't seen the show.
I also just finished a rewatch of magia record so I can talk about it if you want to.

In the original Mami never died because she died fighting a witch which no longer exists. Sayaka did die because she fell into despair.
