- William Wallace Monument Scotland in Stirling. The monument is one of two major sites in Stirling Scotland. The other is the Sterling Castle which is also worth a trip to see.
The monument has 5 levels, but lots of narrow stairs and no elevator. It was built between 1861 and 1869. The ground floor level features the Keeper's Lounge & Gift Shop.
The second level is the Hall of Arms which features the famous Wallace Sword.
The third level is called the Hall of Heroes. It features the sculptures of many of the people that shaped Scotland after William Wallace.
The fourth level is called The Royal Chamber. It features information on the Battle of Stirling Bridge and weapons that would have been used in battle.
The fifth and final level is called the Crown. It offers 360 degree panoramic views of all of Stirling.
You won't find Mel Gibson here, but you will find a monument to a great Scot leader.

Being a fan of Braveheart, this was a place I had to visit. I was a little disappointed that William Wallace's sword looked nothing like it did in the movie Braveheart.
This place is really special and holds a great deal of history!!! Get ready to climb a lot of steps 😊
