  • In this video lesson I show you how to use the Sweep Tool in Fusion 360 to create a model of a PVC Elbow. The work uses the many of the skills we have learned in earlier lessons, including the sweep tool.
This is the link to the CR touch with custom bracket for the creality ender 3 V2 printer. It will work for other printers, but it specifically has a bracket matching the predrilled holes on the ender 3 V2

In the video I show a USB microscope I use for inspecting prints and nozzles. You can pick up the same microscope here:
    amzn.to/3L6mNGD
This is the spare nozzle kit which I show in the video. These are very low cost nozzles, and makes it practical to routinely swap out your extruder nozzle. I really like the socket wrench that comes with the kit.

In this class we will be using the Creality Ender 3 V2 Printer. Your life and my life will be easier if we are working on the same hardware. You can pick up your printer on amazon at the following link: [affiliate link]
    amzn.to/3GaGn25
You will also want to stock up on some filament for your printer. I like the eSun PLA. Here is a link to what I am using:

The link shows you can get different colors. I like the orange.

What a brilliant series this has been 👍 I'm actually a little gutted that it's ended here, could of watched more & more of you teaching this subject, as you make it easy to understand, we need more teachers like you my friend 👍👍 thank you for all of your guidance, I will look forward too some more fusion 360 from you!

Paul, I enjoy you're way of teaching and want to thank for all these Fusion 360 videos. I started from not knowing a thing to having some confidence in fusion360 and 3D printing (already been printing some stuff for people with my new skillz). It has been a fun and interesting journey for me. If you're up to it, below are some content suggestions ideas I had:
    Fusion 360:
-Further investigation of components and maybe assemblies and animations as well
-Introduction to Mesh and surface in fusion 360
    -How to implement supports
-How to use Fusion360 as slicer (instead of Cura)
-Discussion on materials presentation in Fusion360
-Any other useful 3rd party software like the spur gear generator
-Engineering tools like center of mass, stress etc.
-Example of designing a 3D printed part that attaches to a motor to create motion
-Example of what to do when part is too big for the printer
    3D Printing:
-Considerations when printing other plastics besides PLA like ABS
    -Discussion on Cura capabilities/settings/slicing
    -Examination of Gcode
-How to change fan on the ender
-Using different nozzle material, nozzle size other than .4mm and when would you need to heat the bed/nozzle more or less
-Other printer upgrades hardware or software
-How to connect Ender directly to computer without need for SD card
-Introduction to resin printing vs FDM Ender
-How to clean filament if clogged and what kind of filament to avoid (e.g. larger or smaller than 1.75mm etc) for great prints

I have followed your video's and learned the basics of fusion 360 Thank you Paul. More details on cura settings and printer upgrades would be a very helpful lesson to perfect our designs for printing. Thanks Top tech boy.

Great series Paul, Thank You. Here's my little tip. When printing a piece with a bore that slides onto, say a motor shaft, as you mentioned, the end of the bore that sits against the build plate always seems to be a little tight to the motor shaft while the rest of the bore fits the motor shaft.
I add a two-dimension chamfer to the bore on the build plate side. Increase the bore about .010” and the depth into the bore by about .200”. Usually, the piece will slide right onto the motor shaft with no trimming.

Thank you for teaching me Fusion 360. I appreciate the time and effort you put into creating the videos and I watched all of them without skipping. I hope you continue to create more 3D printing content in the future. 😃

Well, I have watched your Arduino and Fusion 360 playlists, and I have learned so much from you. Have you ever thought to make a Matlab tutorial?

Really spend a couple of fine hours to watch your lessons on my tablet and at the same time make the models with fusion360 on my laptop. I learned a lot during these hours and I want to thank you for the work you put in. I am curious what you are going to give us next year ... alvast een gezond en gelukkig Nieuwjaar ... from the Netherlands ...

In today's video, you specified OR and IR outside and inside radii. However, you used the default circle center-DIAMETER tool yielding half-sized circles. I could not find how to change the circle tool to be center-radius. I tried right clicking before entering the parameter value, but did not get a choice to use center-radius. Any sugestions?

Is this going to be the last Fusion 360 lesson...? 😭 Well, maybe at least the last full-length lessons, if you're still planning on making those shorter videos on upgrades and things.
But at least we can start the Pico W series. 😁

I am confused about Paul's design. He specified all his circle dimensions as radii but entered them on the drawings as diameters. The 4 mm wall thickness then also becomes 2 mm. Of course, on the screen it looks right because the shape is correct and the absolute size is not shown. Did this confuse anyone else?

What I would like to see in future videos is, future videos. You just stopped this series abruptly even though you sounded like you were going to continue. Seems like this is the way your original F360 series ended also. Oh well... Thanks for what you did present.

The proof of the pudding for modeling a PVC 90 degree angle pipe section. I'm hopeful you'll add to this lesson series with additional upgrades for the Ender 3v2 or upgrades you've tested. Also, additional lessons on Cura slicer settings would be helpful. Understanding there are TH-cam resources on these subjects, you've earned the status of "trusted resource". Best regards and maybe I'll see you on another of your channels when I've exhausted my useful & practical household designs wish list and successful printing/installation of same. th-cam.com/video/vG2mzpNthAw/w-d-xo.html

I think this might be printable if you would round the inside part of the bottom of the cup. Yes, the outside cup bottom has to be flat, but put an ark on the top edge of the bottom of the cup if that makes sense.
