He was a runner on the This Morning programme & Phillip started a relationship with him when Matthew was 18. Matthew was 22 or 23 & was still in a relationship with Phillip & wanted to take their relationship to the next stage but Phillip refused as he thought he would lose everything! Matthew did say he would tell the papers & Phillip took out an injunction to gag the papers. Matthew was then moved off the This Morning set onto Loose Women to become their runner all arranged by Phillip!! This was all around the time it was reported that Ruth Langsford had made an official complaint about Phillip, Rylan Clark stopped working on the This Morning show & quite a few people were coming out saying how difficult it was to work with Phillip & how he always managed to get his own way with the channel he worked for. People like Amanda Holden & Eammon Holmes amongst others. Meanwhile Matthew had to leave Phillips flat in London & he returned to his parents house after having a nervous breakdown from the threats from Phillip & being moved to a different show & kicked out of the flat they shared. He actually thought he was in a loving relationship. In the meantime Phillip "comes out" on live TV in an attempt to save his own career & cover things up!!! He puts on an image of what a nice guy he is but he groomed, threatened & bullied this boy. If a man had done that to a young girl all hell would break loose, but this was all swept under the carpet!! The thing is when I was younger I thought perhaps Phillip was gay but then he got married and had kids so thought he must have been straight. I don't follow celebrity culture that much so wasn't aware of what he was up to in the broom cupboard so when he came out as gay I was shocked but not surprised if that makes sense but I did know immediately he only came out for a reason and it was to stop a much bigger story coming out. Nobody comes out at that age if they've not acted on it and he was seen as the squeaky clean family man so it was obvious there was a bigger story at play that he didn't want coming out.

To be perfectly honest, I was astonished when Schofield finally "came out", though only because I didn't realise he wasn't gay in the first place. I thought it was common knowledge.
I always thought it was obvious with his voice, and mannerisms, although I didn't know he was married. Just had problems with a similar group of deceivers and abusers, and some of those had been married yrs, yet were spending most of time with mates, watching child and gay porn, and picking up youths, or watching them outside schools. They were on the child abuse register too, but they did not give a damn about the police who visited them, and in the end they were stealing and lying about me, so I cut off the people from my life, and informed the police. They didn't have the staff they said to deal with it. The hardships these scoundrels have caused me are boundless, and quite frankly, I would have nothing to do with any gay now, as there is usually a lot of sh_t going on with them, and because of their guilt and wrong-doings and emotional instability, they persecute innocent people.

Have you forgotten the scandal of 'The British Comedy Awards'? It was a live show, and Julian was presenting an award. One of the other guest presenters who had appeared earlier, was the then Tory chancellor Norman Lamont. Julian approached the podium, paused, then po-faced, said "I've just been round the back fisting Norman Lamont". It brought the house down - the celebrity audience was in stitches (I recall Richard and Judy crying with laughter). But ITV was in deep trouble over it - they got a massive fine and for years after, the show was not broadcast live again in case of another disaster (comedians are an unpredictable lot). But the biggest disaster was for Julian Clary himself - he was a telly pariah for literally years - no ITV show would have him again, and his career hit the skids, big time. I thought it was very unfair - and pretty ridiculous when you think what gets on TV now. But that was the hypocrisy of the 1990s.
I think he was on Ch4 last year, they did a re boot of Saturday Night Live. It makes me cross that he took all the homophobic abuse because he was out and obviously gay but Schofield hid is sexuality when others had to take the flack and pave the way.

The thing is when I was younger I thought perhaps Phillip was gay but then he got married and had kids so thought he must have been straight.
I don't follow celebrity culture that much so wasn't aware of what he was up to in the broom cupboard so when he came out as gay I was shocked but not surprised if that makes sense but I did know immediately he only came out for a reason and it was to stop a much bigger story coming out.
Nobody comes out at that age if they've not acted on it and he was seen as the squeaky clean family man so it was obvious there was a bigger story at play that he didn't want coming out.

I don’t mind people being gay, it’s their lives and they are entitled to live it as they want and be true to themselves, what angers me is when they marry women and pretend to be something their not just so they can have their careers. It’s cruel and selfish, they have wasted their wives lives, faking the love and unity. I’d be so furious to be put in a situation like this, not really knowing who my partner was, it’s utterly selfish and especially if children are involved.

I’m as straight as they come but I’ve grown to like and respect Julian Clary. Early days back in the 1980s I was a bit offended by his antics but then everyone was back then by gays. To be perfectly honest, I was astonished when Schofield finally "came out", though only because I didn't realise he wasn't gay in the first place. I thought it was common knowledge.
I always thought it was obvious with his voice, and mannerisms, although I didn't know he was married. Just had problems with a similar group of deceivers and abusers, and some of those had been married yrs, yet were spending most of time with mates, watching child and gay porn, and picking up youths, or watching them outside schools. They were on the child abuse register too, but they did not give a damn about the police who visited them, and in the end they were stealing and lying about me, so I cut off the people from my life, and informed the police. They didn't have the staff they said to deal with it. The hardships these scoundrels have caused me are boundless, and quite frankly, I would have nothing to do with any gay now, as there is usually a lot of sh_t going on with them, and because of their guilt and wrong-doings and emotional instability, they persecute innocent people.

Have you forgotten the scandal of 'The British Comedy Awards'? It was a live show, and Julian was presenting an award. One of the other guest presenters who had appeared earlier, was the then Tory chancellor Norman Lamont. Julian approached the podium, paused, then po-faced, said "I've just been round the back fisting Norman Lamont".
It brought the house down - the celebrity audience was in stitches (I recall Richard and Judy crying with laughter). But ITV was in deep trouble over it - they got a massive fine and for years after, the show was not broadcast live again in case of another disaster (comedians are an unpredictable lot).
But the biggest disaster was for Julian Clary himself - he was a telly pariah for literally years - no ITV show would have him again, and his career hit the skids, big time. I thought it was very unfair - and pretty ridiculous when you think what gets on TV now. But that was the hypocrisy of the 1990s.
I saw Julian Live in Cardiff a few years ago. Came on with no warm up act and within a minute he had the audience in stitches. A real comedian.
I think he was on Ch4 last year, they did a re boot of Saturday Night Live. It makes me cross that he took all the homophobic abuse because he was out and obviously gay but Schofield hid is sexuality when others had to take the flack and pave the way.
