the invertion in songs, is a method to know if some vocals or instruments are different or the same, between two tracks respectively. if between both (with the invertion apply) some instruments or voices are removed (cancelled), that means are the same in both tracks, if is still there that means are different. in this case, i use that technique in both choruses from 1, 3, 2, some syllables are cancelled, that means those syllables are one member, not two like the full chorus apparent (between JY or Mina, and between JY or TY respectively). other example is Love Foolish chorus, in live is marked are two members in different times, but if is apply this method, the full chorus is cancelled, that means is only one member and for that is marked like only Chaeyoung in studio version.

While this is very true but this is certainly not new in the industry, the reason why producers usually did this is because of pitch correcting, as well as reconstructing (A little touch up) of the song to make it sound or to flow better overall. That's why nobody actually thought that it's been inverted because it just sounds like the original members singing since it's meant to be flawless not flawed. Adding on that, it's not just TWICE but older groups back in Gen2 used to have alot of such reconstructions as well, even more than the current Gen actually. ITZY's producers does that too, nobody would've known in Wannabe the "I" part in Lia's 1st post chorus is actually Yeji's unless they fully invert that part out

I'm amazed with the producers of this song. I don't have that kind of patience adding for example Mina's voice in between Jeongyeon's part and vice versa lol. That'll be a lot of work. 😭
Probably just preferred those recordings nuances, or something related to jeongyeon because it happens to her in hell in heaven too and both happened during her hiatus
This is actually interesting and it explains why even after years of listening to them there are still moments when we get confused about their voices They probably do this way more often that we expect and blend the members voices together I won't be surprised if it turns out that they do it with adlibs too and have both of nahyo record it or something hence why we struggle sometimes to differentiate between them
I've done and edited vocal covers for fun before, and when it comes to merging different takes which is called vocal comping. Typically the vocal's will sound choppy. For a seamless transition the two takes are most of the time crossfaded. Giving the possibility of the 2 vocals overlapping. So if it is more than one members that voice is being comped together, there could just be a possibility that their vocals overlap. That is if we can all agree that the girls sang the whole chorus when the recorded it at the studio.
