This is synth not strings, but still shows it's not just the guitar solo tha makes this song so great. The backing track orchestration has no input from Floyd themselves. It was down to producer, Bob Ezrin and composer, Michael Kamen. Gilmour didn't like it and said it sounded 'sloppy' he recorded his own version without orchestration (as it was in original form) which Waters described as, 'just awful'. It caused arguements that never really healed. The Gilmour version, without the orchestration, was never used. Subsequent Gilmour perfornces of this song, post proper Floyd, used the orchestration. Kind of an acknowledgement that Waters was right.
Thank you for providing this high quality backing track. Would you mind if I used this in a video that I am making where I am covering the second guitar solo?
Perfect! Thank you!
Note for me- 1:00 =1st chorus start
2:10 =solo start

Not at all..would love it if you shared the link though!
@basementmusic6133 no problem!
Love that song… and you nailed it! Really nice pad sound. What synths were you using?
I used a number of vst synths... Xpand!2 and Velvet for the Rhodes sound
Can you give me the MIDI to use the keyboards as a track?
