In this video I will show you how to solve fingerprint option missing in all xiaomi devices and how to fix fingerprint option not showing.
I will tell you the best solutions to fix all the Fingerprint issues on all the Xiaomi devices. As the Fingerprint issues are mostly due to software glitches, therefore, solutions to fix the fingerprint problem are generally the same for all the Xiaomi Models. That is all the solutions below can work for all the Xiaomi devices.
You can try the following methods on Xiaomi phones like Redmi Note 5, Mi A1, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi Note 4, Note 5 Plus, Redmi 5, Xiaomi Mi6, Mi Max 2, Y1, Mi Max 3, Note 5A, Mi 6 Plus, Redmi 3S Prime, Poco X1, Poco X2, 4 Prime, Mi 6C, Redmi 3A, Mi 5S Poco F1 etc. Fix the issues like Fingerprint Not Working, Not responding, an error occurred with Fingerprint Scanner, couldn’t add fingerprint try again etc.

Note: I believe that you have rebooted the device but the problem is not solved. If not yet, then first restart the phone and check for the fix. If not done with a simple reboot then proceed with the video.

Thank you! My fingerprint scanner was dead and now is working again. In CIT test it failed but I executed next step in your guide and it worked. I deleted all FingerprintExtensionService data, restarted the phone, and the fingerprint sensor started working again. Xiaomi MI 8 Lite phone. Thanks!!!!

Thank you so much for this video really helped me. Was so frustrated that my fingerprint sensor wasn't working after the update. Although it showed failed in the first step still thought of continuing with the rest and it actually worked and the sensor started working again. Really a helpful video.

The second step didn't work for me as I've already did the method before watching this video as Google suggested, but once I opened the kernel version and tested fingerprint sensor(which showed 'pass') the option has returned!!

The test failed but I can't find the apps you mentioned. Does that mean that the problem is with the hardware? Or maybe with the software since I didn't find any apps?

I would recommend doing the resetting app data first. Then to check hardware. Cuz for me the test does not respond at all.

Thank you so much for this useful video. It saved us. After coming back from repair shop.. the sensor option was gone so I doubted if that person removed my phone's sensor.
Guys in settings when you check test fingerprint.. and getting that fingerprint tool error.. still send the report and do as shown in video.

Even if you get fail result in first step just follow the steps, because it happened with my phone. I got failed but continued and after switching phone fingerprint lock option reoccurred.🎉

Helpful info. Although my test failed even after following the two steps. I gave my phone for broken screen repairing today. Came to know the faulty finger lock after reaching home. Disappeared from settings. Is it possible that the repairing guys screwed up the sensor(?) by accident? Or they intentionally removed the finger lock mechanism? I have always been very skeptical and suspicious with any third party mobile repairing people. Thhanks anyways for the helpful viiddeo.
