jeez this battle was tense at the start i thought it was a easy battle, gained access to the castle really quick, though at 10mins left of the game i really thought the win was far and then a clutch comes into play with the cav, its an awesome game, i could never play this well!! love the content

Gotta say this battle was awsome You guys played it smart and we gotta say Rovak is a Legend the shuffling and when he takes these small chances are amazing, I was shocked to see the Lucitani Player not taking Nobel Swordsmen because if he did I think it would've put more pressure on you guys.
lastly, I have to give my point of view as always lol, I would've moved a tower with me to the right side and load some archers on the wall I sometimes do it on this map and its really disgusting the way they shred, anyway you guys did awesome GO CRIMSON CHICKENS !!!
Its Arevaci, but yeah noble fighters are a heavy hitting unit. Here's the thing when you are playing a 2v2 competitive match on large funds - you rarely have enough to spend on 2 elites(one being your general) and still have more than 18 slots filled in your army. With arevaci it becomes a choice: do you want to have a second elite unit that really doesnt have enough armor compared to the other elites, or do you wanna spend the funds on another mid tier sword unit and a better ranged unit instead. Noble fighters cost 1380 and for that amount you can get a painted one(decent mid tier sword unit with scare and frenzy abilities) plus another balearic slinger and still have some funds leftover. Thats way more killing potential and way less risk involved not to get your money's worth. If you watched the first game and generally most Arevaci games in this tournament you would see how much damage the balearics actually do, its stupid

yes you indeed have a great point and I fully know and understand everything you said, but as you saw they brought a good amount of ranged units. I think I saw 2 cav units that are not generals which they could use for a more infantry-based army, anyway I really don't know if they know what armies they are going against or if they wouldn't know until the battle starts because if they did know I think they would've done a bit better.

Flaming shot definitely kills more when it rolls. Some men get back up after Standard shot but they all burn with fire. Standard is more accurate tho so if they’re not bunched up and farther away, use standard. When they’re bunched up fire is the move

Apollo in order to maximize hoplites performance just charge them and then put them in phalanx and then click attack order on the enemy unit so all hoplites are offensive and fighting instead of being spread and not fighting like in the video
I get a little weird about that because sometimes the unit pushes through the enemy unit. I don't want to acidently do a push through.
@@PixelatedApollo1what I do is put them in hoplite phalanx FIRST and then charge them in so they don’t do the push through glitch. You always want to give an attack order to your unit or else they’ll just stand there me get killed. You’ll do so much better by giving more attack orders
@@PixelatedApollo1 I think if you click one attack order you will be fine but sometimes hoplites do weird stuff
@@PixelatedApollo1 So with hoplites its so much more complicated than with the regular sword infantry, because you want to charge and get the bonus but you wanna go hoplite wall and get that bonus vs infantry as well. Most people either dont charge at all and lose on the charge bonus or like you dont bother with the hoplite wall since its janky and beyond buggy... If you charge your hoplites and then have another one of your units charge the same enemy unit your hoplite is fighting, that extra unit will serve as a ''battle buddy''. The point of a battle buddy is to make your hoplites safer against pila and jankiness of the hoplite wall mechanic. Once you have your hoplite and the battle buddy unit both fighting the enemy unit, thats when u hit that hoplite wall button. You hoplite wont get surrounded and pila'd to shit because of the battle buddy and you just used both the charge bonus and the hoplite wall bonus. This is why you see many people clump up their spartans or Illyrian hoplites when they engage in combat, you could see me doing the same thing in that practice match we did on this map as well. The hoplite wall push through bug can also be negated simply by reforming your unit once u press the hoplite wall button, its safe to disengage now because of your battle buddy. So charge, battle buddy engage, hoplite wall, reform, engage again 👌
Also can you scout the enemy teams? We would love to see you scout the best players.

Very nice cavalry charge you did at the end, achieving what the other team couldn't in the first game against you, which was conquering the street of the wall that surrounds the settlement, also killing most of the missile units. In another thing in which I saw that your decisions were superior, it was both the way in which you organized the attack, and the composition of the armies in the two games; For example, in the choice of units that you made with the Colchis and the Areveci, if one compares them with what they did in the two games (they were the only two factions that repeated the two teams), you were able to take better advantage of the potential that those factions have in both, however they could not. =D
So close! Great battle, can't wait for more Apollo.
I was never really in to competitive tw but now I like watching it (I don't have two but I would like to have it) edit: never underestimate Apollo like dang
The only thing I would say is Apollo you needed to rush units to the tower area much faster, as the walls got destroyed get some units in there cause the defence had *no units* in that area

If anyone hasnt played them already. I absolutely love bactria with sebiddees expanded roster addon. They get the persian spearmen, which are medium quality spearmen that also have bows. Theyre arent the best archers or spearmen, but theyre decent at both, and make an awesome main line unit. They also have a generally cool roster as they're kind of a mix of greek, middle eastern, and indian troops. My onpy gripe is theycstart at the far edge of the map. Either way theyre really fun to play and even though the slearmen seem op, theyre actually pretty well balanced.
So, bit of shameless self-promotion here, but would you be interested in doing a series of modded MP battles? There's a zombie mod for Rome 2 that my buddies and I are going to be doing some battles for and I'm trying to recruit people, lol.

That was an excellent battle! Whenever you do a 1 Vs 1 battle, or 2 Vs 1, and you're on the defensive, a tactic I would recommend is put 2 Ambush Units outside a Castle in the very far hidden, but you don't use that at any costs until the late game, or endgame, depending how much artillery they used. Enemy artillery would be without any support, and you attack the artillery guns and seize it. You rush out an Artillery group to use what is left of the Artillery line, and surround the invaders and destroy them with the ammunition.

@@barkbarkboi7195 100%, Rome 2's performance isn't great regardless, but that GPU will have it as good as you're gonna get. It's 10 years old. Your CPU is more important for games like Rome 2 because of the thousands of models rendered though.

The defenders just wouldn't give up that tower which lost them the battle they threw absolutely everything they had at that one fight refusing to give any ground which meant ultimately there stubbornness lead to there defeat. I was following Wolfgang throughout the competition but this match was annoying to see

This was an annoying battle the defenders refused to give up any ground they just kept pushing everything to defend the same spot which is really annoying I much prefer a layered defence were once the attackers break through a certain point the next layer is further back instead of the defenders just pushing everything to one point and never falling back

Bit of a question, how much does the Rome faction minus or gain points? I barely see anyone playing as Rome in the channel. Kinda miss them.
I believe they are like -5 as they are the best faction
