It wasn't just listening to Skrewdriver, Oi, ska and hardcore all alone that made you a skin but it was your friends (your crew) that made the scene in your particular area that made us all a force to be reckoned.

Skrewdriver 77-85 was killer!
'87 was called "Summer of Hate" in US...I shaved my friend, Jeff's head ...in South Carolina 1990...and he traded his leather and combats for a flight and some OxBlood Docs. I remained Deathrock, lol...but i bought alot of Trad OI records at the shop, cuz i dig OI! Jeff either grew up, is dead, or in prison. Anyone who went full Hammerskin, that i know, is either grown up, dead, or in prison. Some WP kids are out...covered in WP ink, and finding adjustment VERY hard. Silly fekkers ought have listened to me, and others, but so be it. Trad 4evr!

This brings back memories, l was getting into the skin head scene but quit because it wouldn't have been healthy for me and my family. I really like the Irish punk rock a lot. This is very British and I like it too. Just the thing to listen to in this time of BS federal government isocracy ✌️🇬🇧

Living there now realized back then at cookouts there were two bands that were pretty much on play. Screwdriver.............and damn Morrissey. Fuck it. Love S.A.

I always found the buzz saw guitar attack on these singles akin to Greg Ginn’s early work the with Black Flag. When I was a kid I thought it was like Chuck Berry was struck by lightning and pushed through a meat grinder

The line-up from the "Built up knocked down" EP in '79 wasn't the original line-up and the original line-up didn't split-up in 1979. The line-up changed a lot between '77 and '79, they had three different drummers, 7 different guitar players (of course, temporary 2 guitar players, lead and rythm) and two bass players (after Kev McKay left, guitar player Phil Walmsley took over before Kev came back for the "Built up knocked down").
