The man punching the air at the end was Dimash’s parent. Dimash didn’t know he would be there and rushes out to give him a hug when he saw him. He said he wouldn’t have given such a cheeky performance if he knew his dad was there. Dimash can sing pop, rock, folk, jazz, opera and rap. Sings in 12 languages, plays seven instruments, can compose, direct and even dance. He covers Queen, Michael Jackson and Celine Dionne etc but remains hardworking, respectful and humble. His family and culture are most important to him and says he couldn’t do anything to embarrass his family, country or teachers. When asked what super power he would like, he said to be able to speak every language.
Yes, Dimash isn't usually this demonstrative but he is covering Vitas original and in it Vitas is quiet forceful and showy while performing, so Dimash is trying to stay in the style of the original. 🦌💞
Four months searching everything about DIMASH and haven’t found one time where he actually mention that he wouldn’t be “cheeky” if he knew his father was there. Wish to watch that comment from him. I read somewhere that when Dimash was asked about how he coped with stage fright and pressure he replied that he had no trouble with it and that he was only really upset once, just before performing SOS in Singer, but not because of his vocal skills, but because of the uncertainty of how the Chinese audience will perceive his.
And they loved it!!! Except the competition 😂 they were like “my goose is cooked!” I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, if that was me, competing against Dimash, I would’ve been outta there before I went on! I can’t believe I’m hearing that lady won! I’ll have to watch her perform! I even heard she won by shear popularity, instead of talent 😔

Just Jen I know! It was more of a “pick your favorite” than “pick the best”, but it still really launched his career and he’s still super popular in China
Sorry a day late seeing this one. You've likely been told all this but The Singer competition is made up of all professional singers as competitors. The 500 member audience are the judges. Its 13 weeks long and each week is judged. They often would combine 2 weeks placements to see who would have to leave that week. They invited Dimash as a "wild card" to only perform for 2 episodes. He was not only the youngest at 22 yrs old but the only non professional. He WOWED the audience (and other competitors...many who became really good friends with him and he has sung with afterwards at his concerts etc) and continued through the whole competition! The Chinese fans really embraced Dimash and made him an overnight star after his SOS performance. Nicknamed him "the imported brother". SOS was a phenomenal performance and one of his most popular ones!! I LOVE his first SOS performance....everyone has their preferences 💜🤗💜. He ended up as Runner Up (which is HUGE) to Sandy Lam who at the time was 51 yrs old and a "National Treasure" for many years. Dimash was the winner in the long run as that show is what got him out into the International world and made him known! 💜💜💜💜💜 This was his 2nd performance and his Dad flew in from Kazakhstan and surprised him when he was done singing. I videoed it off my tv and watch it often. It shows how incredibly important his family is too him and how close they are. Here it is if you want to watch it on your own time. The sweetest smile, it makes me nervous cause I know he's about to do something crazy. Every time he smiles like that. It upsets me that it ended there. The other one is longer and shows the surprised look. His father flew in and Dimash didn't know or see him til he was saying thank you. That's why he paused just before the screen went black.
Love your reactions, delighted to see you reacting to Dimash. I hear SOS differently. Pull a copy of the same performance with English subtitles. I don't see a lack of confidence, I see a man who was wholly in the spirit of this delicate French song... SOS, a call from a man in distress... Opera 2 is a brag song, it requires swagger and Dimash has an abundance of that when required. Dimash isn't just a beautiful voice. He is also an amazing performer; 100% engaged in the emotions of each song. For me, that's what makes his work so stunning.
Hy Jen, this song was written to a guy in Russia named Vitas, he song it very well. But instead of section four he sang it only two. Dimash just raised the bar up to five. And Vitas did not go higher in every section. But Dimash did. So Vitas treatened him with a lawsuit , if he ever sings it again. The funny thing was he did not wrote this song. Somebody else did. Honey you just fell in the Dimas hole, and Diana’s hole to. Good lack to climb out of it!!!!

That was a crazy performance by Dimash. The original singer, Vitas, went up once where Dimash went up three times. He later banned Dimash from ever performing this song again. Want to see even crazier stuff? Check ou Sinful Passion. It is a year after this one and Dimash's voice has matured and improved even further (even though that is hardly imaginable).
Yes, you are right, Vitas prohibited Dimash to sing this song (he is the composer and he can do that, but this is not fair !) In fact this is the opposite comportament with Lara Fabian, Dimash sings Adagio and Mademoiselle Hyde and Lara congratulated him and more, she wrote the lyrics for Igor Krutoy's song Your Love, song for Dimash to sing for the Women International Day (8 mars 2020) ! You may see how great singers can be gorgeous together without rivalry in Ti Amo Cosi (Aida Garifullina - one of the first 5 sopranos in the world-, Dimash Kudaibergen and Lara Fabian) or in Question of Honour with Zarina Altimbayeva (another first 5 sopranos in the world) or in Drunken Concubune and Diva Dance with Li Yugang ! In 2017 in The Singer chinese competition (song contest) he was loved by all the other contestants (12 of the most famous singers in China at that moment) and they show that when Dimash was ill and they offer him treatement and a very good doctor for him ! They all understand that a competition is not war, is a simply contest between friends !

@@danelda47 that is true, that is the reason you haven't seen Dimash singing that song anywhere. Some people had said that, the song was brought to Dimash for him to sing by the show organizers. Vitas he even tried to ridicule Dimash, Vitas said that Dimash should go to his country to sing his folkloric music. I think when Vitas said that, he was afraid because he knew what was coming in.

That you for your reaction, Jen! I'm not sure why people say he was nervous on his first appearance. He was an experienced pro singer even before joining "The Singer" and I don't really get any "nervousness" or "anxiety" vibes from his SOS performance. And I personally find his Singer SOS the best version among all his SOS covers :) You might want to check out "Sinful Passion", it's one of his most amazing performances (popular opinion)!

Well, you didn't see him before he went on stage. There is a video that shows he was a nervous wreck, and he also had a stomach ache. His confidence appears only on stage, not before. He was a young boy all alone appearing for the first time in an important competition before strangers in a strange land, all of them professional and experienced, he wouldn't have been human if he weren't nervous. I would suggest to wait with Sinful Passion and do the other songs from the contest first. Personally, I like his recent versions of SOS even better, more mature and emotional, and of course without the mistakes in French.
@@Chabtung Indeed, I have not seen the backstage video! This makes it even more impressive, how he's hiding his anxiety on stage! That is remarkable! As for SOS, it's a matter of taste, I guess. I like his interpretation on the singer a lot better than all the other versions, plus the arrangement is awesome!
I can't agree that the SOS performance on Singer was not Dimash's best one. While every song and performance of his only tops the last, there is still something so pristine in that iconic performance, which is the one that has introduced most people to him, that every time I hear it, it is just perfection!
I think your ready for a great Korean singer called So Hyang singing Arirang Alone, you'll be shook. Then, what I think is THE best cover of Sound of Silence, by Disturbed, OMG 😲

Hi Jen. First of all congratulations for your channel and reactions. In my opinion Dimash is a sublime artist and I think for me he is the best I have heard for the quality and control he has of his voice, he does what he wants with it. If you allow me, I make a series of suggestions and if you consider it pertinent to react to them I think they are all incredible and precious: 1 .- The first song I suggest is "Sinful passion", played in Russian I think Sochi, admirable lung capacity it has. 2 .- Another very nice song is "The Love of the tired swans", performed in Russian with its composer Igor Krutoy. 3.- The next one I recommend is "Ogni Pietra" an amazing interpretation by Dimash (in Italian) at the European games in Minsk in 2019 (here in two voices, tenor and soprano I think). 4.- "Your love" (song interpreted in English with Igor Krutoy at the piano) - very beautiful song and as always incredibly interpreted. 5.- "Adagio" (song by Lara Fabián), masterfully interpreted also in the contest of The Singer in China. 6.- "Confessa+The Diva Dance", performance in Italian at The Singer contest in China. 7.- Another beautiful, intimate and romantic, "Love is like a dream", with Igor Krutoy. 8.- Mademoiselle Hyde (song performed in English with Igor Krutoy). 9.- Ti amo cosi (song interpreted in Italian with Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina), beautiful everything, the ice skaters and the rapport with the orchestra at the end of the song, also at the piano Igor Krutoy. 10.- Hello, an incredible version of Lionel Richie's song at The Singer contest in 2017 in China. 11.- Across Endless Dimensions (song interpreted in English corresponding to the soundtrack of the film Creators: The Past). 12.- Unforgettable Day, in the Gakku concert, where it reaches a D8 note. (song that I think was co-written by Dimash himself when he was 19 years old) 13.- All by myself, a version he made of Eric Carmen's song, masterfully performed at the World's Best in 2019. 14.- The Show must go on, another version this time of my favorite group Queen, also performed at The Singer in China. 15.- And the last one I also liked that I recently heard was Jasmine, a Chinese song and of which there are several versions on youtube, one with Luo Tiany as an animation that sings with him, another with Wu Tong and another in The Singer New Era. It's the same song but interpreted in different ways, for the taste of colors, all three incredible. I already saw that you reacted to "S.O.S" on The Singer, in China, (version of Daniel Balavoine's song, performed in French), for which Dimash became world famous. If you can, listen to the version he performed on Slavic Bazaar, which is the most complete and I think the sweetest and smoothest. You stopped it too soon. His father had flown in from Kazakhstan without telling Dimash he was coming. They had hidden his father, Kanat in the back so Dimash would not see him but he he could see Dimash' performance. Just as you stopped it, Dimash spied his father coming toward him. Dimash had the presence of mind to give his thanks and such befor they got his father to the stage before Di,ash embraced Kanat and picked him up and swung him and swung him around. Dimash is 6' 3" tall and his dad is about a head shorter than Dimash. What did Dimash say to his father when thye got backstage? Did I do well father? He and his family are very close. They even have a family motto. The Family where Love Reigns.
The "girl who couldn't do it" in the end, ended up winning the whole competition. Dimash came in 2nd. Popularity beat talent.

Just Jen I know! It was more of a “pick your favorite” than “pick the best”, but it still really launched his career and he’s still super popular in China
Sorry a day late seeing this one. You've likely been told all this but The Singer competition is made up of all professional singers as competitors. The 500 member audience are the judges. Its 13 weeks long and each week is judged. They often would combine 2 weeks placements to see who would have to leave that week. They invited Dimash as a "wild card" to only perform for 2 episodes. He was not only the youngest at 22 yrs old but the only non professional. He WOWED the audience (and other competitors...many who became really good friends with him and he has sung with afterwards at his concerts etc) and continued through the whole competition! The Chinese fans really embraced Dimash and made him an overnight star after his SOS performance. Nicknamed him "the imported brother". SOS was a phenomenal performance and one of his most popular ones!! I LOVE his first SOS performance....everyone has their preferences 💜🤗💜. He ended up as Runner Up (which is HUGE) to Sandy Lam who at the time was 51 yrs old and a "National Treasure" for many years. Dimash was the winner in the long run as that show is what got him out into the International world and made him known! 💜💜💜💜💜
This was his 2nd performance and his Dad flew in from Kazakhstan and surprised him when he was done singing. I videoed it off my tv and watch it often. It shows how incredibly important his family is too him and how close they are. Here it is if you want to watch it on your own time. And has english subtitles! ❤😁❤😁❤

The sweetest smile, it makes me nervous cause I know he's about to do something crazy. Every time he smiles like that. It upsets me that it ended there. The other one is longer and shows the surprised look. His father flew in and Dimash didn't know or see him til he was saying thank you. That's why he paused just before the screen went black.

I hear SOS differently. Pull a copy of the same performance with English subtitles. I don't see a lack of confidence, I see a man who was wholly in the spirit of this delicate French song... SOS, a call from a man in distress...
Opera 2 is a brag song, it requires swagger and Dimash has an abundance of that when required. Dimash isn't just a beautiful voice. He is also an amazing performer; 100% engaged in the emotions of each song. For me, that's what makes his work so stunning.

Hy Jen, this song was written to a guy in Russia named Vitas, he song it very well. But instead of section four he sang it only two. Dimash just raised the bar up to five. And Vitas did not go higher in every section. But Dimash did. So Vitas treatened him with a lawsuit , if he ever sings it again. The funny thing was he did not wrote this song. Somebody else did. Honey you just fell in the Dimas hole, and Diana’s hole to. Good lack to climb out of it!!!!

That was a crazy performance by Dimash. The original singer, Vitas, went up once where Dimash went up three times. He later banned Dimash from ever performing this song again.
Want to see even crazier stuff? Check ou Sinful Passion. It is a year after this one and Dimash's voice has matured and improved even further (even though that is hardly imaginable).

Yes, you are right, Vitas prohibited Dimash to sing this song (he is the composer and he can do that, but this is not fair !) In fact this is the opposite comportament with Lara Fabian, Dimash sings Adagio and Mademoiselle Hyde and Lara congratulated him and more, she wrote the lyrics for Igor Krutoy's song Your Love, song for Dimash to sing for the Women International Day (8 mars 2020) ! You may see how great singers can be gorgeous together without rivalry in Ti Amo Cosi (Aida Garifullina - one of the first 5 sopranos in the world-, Dimash Kudaibergen and Lara Fabian) or in Question of Honour with Zarina Altimbayeva (another first 5 sopranos in the world) or in Drunken Concubune and Diva Dance with Li Yugang ! In 2017 in The Singer chinese competition (song contest) he was loved by all the other contestants (12 of the most famous singers in China at that moment) and they show that when Dimash was ill and they offer him treatement and a very good doctor for him ! They all understand that a competition is not war, is a simply contest between friends !

@@danelda47 that is true, that is the reason you haven't seen Dimash singing that song anywhere. Some people had said that, the song was brought to Dimash for him to sing by the show organizers. Vitas he even tried to ridicule Dimash, Vitas said that Dimash should go to his country to sing his folkloric music. I think when Vitas said that, he was afraid because he knew what was coming in.

That you for your reaction, Jen! I'm not sure why people say he was nervous on his first appearance. He was an experienced pro singer even before joining "The Singer" and I don't really get any "nervousness" or "anxiety" vibes from his SOS performance. And I personally find his Singer SOS the best version among all his SOS covers :)
You might want to check out "Sinful Passion", it's one of his most amazing performances (popular opinion)!
I think he was nervous not because of performance of song but because of language barrier and also performing to the new audience in different country
I read somewhere that when Dimash was asked about how he coped with stage fright and pressure, he replied that he had no trouble with it and that he was only really upset once, just before performing SOS in Singer, but not because of his vocal skills, but because of the uncertainty of how the Chinese audience will perceive his.
Well, you didn't see him before he went on stage. There is a video that shows he was a nervous wreck, and he also had a stomach ache. His confidence appears only on stage, not before. He was a young boy all alone appearing for the first time in an important competition before strangers in a strange land, all of them professional and experienced, he wouldn't have been human if he weren't nervous.
I would suggest to wait with Sinful Passion and do the other songs from the contest first.
Personally, I like his recent versions of SOS even better, more mature and emotional, and of course without the mistakes in French.

As for SOS, it's a matter of taste, I guess. I like his interpretation on the singer a lot better than all the other versions, plus the arrangement is awesome!
I can't agree that the SOS performance on Singer was not Dimash's best one. While every song and performance of his only tops the last, there is still something so pristine in that iconic performance, which is the one that has introduced most people to him, that every time I hear it, it is just perfection!
I think your ready for a great Korean singer called So Hyang singing Arirang Alone, you'll be shook.

Dimash is seen as THE best singer in the world by millions of his fans called "dears". First of all congratulations for your channel and reactions.
In my opinion Dimash is a sublime artist and I think for me he is the best I have heard for the quality and control he has of his voice, he does what he wants with it. If you allow me, I make a series of suggestions and if you consider it pertinent to react to them I think they are all incredible and precious:
1 .- The first song I suggest is "Sinful passion", played in Russian I think Sochi, admirable lung capacity it has.
2 .- Another very nice song is "The Love of the tired swans", performed in Russian with its composer Igor Krutoy.
3.- The next one I recommend is "Ogni Pietra" an amazing interpretation by Dimash (in Italian) at the European games in Minsk in 2019 (here in two voices, tenor and soprano I think).
4.- "Your love" (song interpreted in English with Igor Krutoy at the piano) - very beautiful song and as always incredibly interpreted.
5.- "Adagio" (song by Lara Fabián), masterfully interpreted also in the contest of The Singer in China.
6.- "Confessa+The Diva Dance", performance in Italian at The Singer contest in China.
7.- Another beautiful, intimate and romantic, "Love is like a dream", with Igor Krutoy.
8.- Mademoiselle Hyde (song performed in English with Igor Krutoy).
9.- Ti amo cosi (song interpreted in Italian with Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina), beautiful everything, the ice skaters and the rapport with the orchestra at the end of the song, also at the piano Igor Krutoy.
10.- Hello, an incredible version of Lionel Richie's song at The Singer contest in 2017 in China.
11.- Across Endless Dimensions (song interpreted in English corresponding to the soundtrack of the film Creators: The Past).
12.- Unforgettable Day, in the Gakku concert, where it reaches a D8 note. (song that I think was co-written by Dimash himself when he was 19 years old)
13.- All by myself, a version he made of Eric Carmen's song, masterfully performed at the World's Best in 2019.
14.- The Show must go on, another version this time of my favorite group Queen, also performed at The Singer in China.
15.- And the last one I also liked that I recently heard was Jasmine, a Chinese song and of which there are several versions on youtube, one with Luo Tiany as an animation that sings with him, another with Wu Tong and another in The Singer New Era. It's the same song but interpreted in different ways, for the taste of colors, all three incredible.
I already saw that you reacted to "S.O.S" on The Singer, in China, (version of Daniel Balavoine's song, performed in French), for which Dimash became world famous. If you can, listen to the version he performed on Slavic Bazaar, which is the most complete and I think the sweetest and smoothest.

Dimash' performance. Just as you stopped it, Dimash spied his father coming toward him.
Dimash had the presence of mind to give his thanks and such befor they got his father to the stage before Di,ash embraced Kanat and picked him up and swung him and swung him around.
Dimash is 6' 3" tall and his dad is about a head shorter than Dimash.
What did Dimash say to his father when thye got backstage? Did I do well father?
He and his family are very close. They even have a family motto.
