After seeing this game, two things are immediately clear to me. One, this game has clearly been made by massive Warhammer 40k nerds who have had an absolute blast making it super in depth, which is great! Two, this game calmly comes along and shows up most other games released in the last few years. This is fantastic!
Idk if I ageee about it showing up other games it’s just that we haven’t had a game like this in years it feels like just a bunch of cod ripoffs , battle royales and souls like games none that feel like this tho I think you just missed these type of games as do I not saying it’s bad but it can’t be compared to most games recently made imo
That's the most badass prologue I've seen in gaming for years. I wouldn't even be mad if Titus died there, he put up one hell of a last stand and would've died a true warrior.
Titus always asking Acheron for Troops.... Titus: "I need 2 squad of men" Acheron: "I can spare 1 man, half blind, he's missing and arm and a leg." 😂😂😂
I like the fact that when talking to each other, they sound simple and chill, but when they use the Vox, they sound extremly rude and bloodlust. Makes me wonder how Titus sounds when in Co-op.
Huge thanks to Focus Entertainment for providing us with an early access code. I greatly enjoyed the game and can't wait to dive into PvP when the general public starts playing tomorrow. My only gripe with the campaign right now is some of the sound mixing. The voices of team members are super low unless you're facing them. But the cutscenes are amazing, the gameplay is incredible and all in all a wonderful succinct experience. Thanks for watching!
4:40:55 Sometimes I forget that first round Primaris Astartes were recruited at the end of the Heresy and kept in stasis while Cawl did his work. Makes sense that Chairon is so edgy around Chaos, if he saw the forces of Lorgar descend on his home.
On one hand, yes, on the other, those who need validation from their gods are weak of will. It is why only the weak of mind fall to chaos. The Emperor protects those of strong will against the Chaos corruption.
I jumped and yelled in the middle of the night when Leandros revealed himself as the Chaplain. How did I not see that coming? That "Codex Astartes does not support this action" zealot reeked of suspicion and hatred the entire time. It makes so much sense now, how his fixation on Titus felt almost personal. Leandros you rat bastard! How in the Emperor's name did you make it to Chaplain?????
Leandros becoming a chaplain is the natural evolution of his character. Chaplains are zealous busibodies who are tasked with monitoring their own brothers and ensuring their spiritual purity is never compromised. It's basically Leandros' dream job, although the exact manner of how and when he became chaplain is unanswered.
I really love it when you stop and appreciate the gorgeous scenery, the guardsman fighting, because most would just skim past them like they’re speedrunning.
Titus: explains the concept of the Tyranid hivemind, and that all members of a hive fleet share one single consciousness capable of learning new information from each individual Tyranid Also Titus, 7000000 times in this game: "they never learn"
Friend walks in: dude! You been shot and are bleeding profusely! Why are you playing space marine 2 so casually instead of calling 911???? Me: the emperor protects!
Something I’ve noticed through out this game and if I’m led to believe the nids evolve their pattern, the one thing they don’t have the ability to compensate for is the distribution of bio mass, now hear me out cause I’m only knee deep in the lore but, if an evolving species sticks to a single statistic like bio mass loss, it would mean their bio mass distribution is only relevant to protecting the consecutive areas of loss since the hive mind continuously intakes data to curtail its out put. Theoretically you can only reinforce a negative trait so much before other aspects of reality influence other traits to compensate for the increased traits positive gains, meaning if the nids reinforce their fronts, they have to take away from other areas like their backs to adhere to the accepted overall biomass loss allowances. Which is why fire works so good because it attacks an area not a directional point, this is why they deploy mines to distract the focus of your attacks, there’s a compensation rate, which means there’s a loss standard. What I’m trying to say is that if you were able to fight nids in a field, whether psychic disruption or environmental damage, if you were able to constantly attack them from all sides then you could force them into a chain evolution that would effectively make them either too big to be effective or too small to survive directional assaults. The hive mind psychic connection is just a distraction from their real weakness, even if you cut the psychic flow or starved them, they can still regenerate, but if you attack them on their premise of existence, you have a chance. If you fed them enough enraged blood angels, you could possibly corrupt and destroy them with something like a biological computer virus
Close. The thing is the Nids have a connection with the Ropes having an almost direct path link to the hive mine. The Hive Tyrant is the direct path link aside from the tyranid hive ship. The reason environment damage is so effective is because the Hive mind doesn't pay attention or even acknowledges things that small. All the hive mind does is program them in a simple way: Consume, evolve, adapt, destroy, consume. Its literally a 4 step process that its nodes(Hive ships) can control on that specific scale. Every scale lesser is controlled by the one greater. This is why the Tyranids are so effective and dangerous. Regardless of how much biomass is lost they only need to win to reclaim that biomass as well as all the additional biomass. They literally devour everything, even rocks, until only sterile rocks with no minerals or nutrients are left. That is why the planets they leave behind are often referred to as husks because everything of value, even on a microscopic scale, is stripped clean.
Watching the Chapter Master lead the Ultramarines into battle was in - frickn - sane!!! That was my favorite part out of the whole thing! I felt a sense of dread when the big bird boy was waiting for them too! But that charge that Marneus Calgar issued was epic! However, I thought that the Chaos Terminators would have been a much stronger an opponent than what they seemed to be??? Tactical Dreadnought and all... What would the lore have to say about that? Any lore fans, or even the tabletop gamers have any critique on that?
I havent got to the Terminators yet but just the ordinary Chaos Marines should be a much much higher threat than they are. They are the survivors from the heresy after all and honestly they are getting wrecked right off the bat with seeming ease. Its weird hey they are just standing around shooting and then get stunned into just standing waiting for a finishing move.
