- In this video, we take you on a RIU Tequila full tour. What we liked about his RIU is the quiet pool Ibiza, and the "Chill out" beach area near the lobby. We're almost certain they have parties there at night, though we didn't see any during our time.

Yes u can walk there. About 15-20 min walk.

It rains almost every day in the summer, but the rain comes and goes super quick! At least that was our experience 🤷🏼♀️

Yes, it’s a short 5-10 minute walk! And yes, it’s allowed.

If you can budget for RIU palace riviera Maya, that’s the best one. Yucatan is good too, it’s right on the beach. A bit more updated would be RIU Playacar. Best parties at tequila. Depends what you’re looking for

Hello! Yes, antigen tests are free. PCR tests are $125 usd.

Hi. Nice video. Overall did u prefer tequila or yucatan? Which one was more quieter and better pools. If u book yucantan can u use tequila pools/restaurants. Vice versa. ? Thanks
If you’re looking for a quieter resort with nice pools, Yucatan is better - but overall, Tequila has a better overall guest rating🤷🏼♀️ they do have the RIU party scene at Tequila, so that can get quite noisy though. Yes, if you stay at one of the non- palace resorts, you can visit and eat/drink at the other non-palace resorts… but not for dinner - dinner has to be at your home resort 👍🏻
You said the identical thing about the other beach and the sea weed. Was it exactly true for both trips where it went away at the end of your trip?
Not sure which trip you are referring to? Was it another RIU hotel? If so, we filmed all of the RIUs in the area on the same trip, so that’s why we put that description in for all of them 👍🏻
Hey random question here... When booking one of the Riu hotels, are you allowed to use the facilities of the other hotels? So book Tequila and then being allowed to use the pools/restaurants/spa of the other Riu's that are next to each other?
Yes. At Tequila, you can access Playacar and Yucatan pools, bars, and lunch. Dinner need be at the home resort. You aren’t able to access either Palace while staying at Tequila.
Desperately need to know if you’d prefer tequila or playacar or yucatan!
I’d prefer yucatan, but I like the beach a lot!! If you don’t care for the beach, tequila is nicer! 😎

They’re both very similar but Playacar has slightly nicer rooms in our opinion 👍🏻
Went there in 2018 loved it monkeys were awesome were right outside our balcony every morning booked to back in April 2023 but now heard they will be refurbishing so I got to wait for email to see whats happening. Your video on the palace was brill might get moved there if we pay the extra money. If anyone knows when they will be closing would be great to know thx.
I’m not sure when they will be closing 🤷🏼♀️ but if you can upgrade to the RIU Palace Riviera Maya, you will absolutely love it! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Do you recommend the Riviera Maya to the palace nxt to the Yukatan?
Yes, the Palace Riviera Maya is recently renovated, whereas RIU Palace Mexico is really showing its wear and tear - especially in the rooms.

Oh no, you’re gonna make me choose! Okay, well, I really like yucatans pool, and the nature on the resort. The thing Playacar has going for them is the updated rooms. They look a little nicer. But I’d probably go for yucatan ! 😆

The Tequilla has overall better reviews - and you can visit the other RIUs (not the palaces) so you can get an idea if both 👍🏻
Does this Riu hotel have that cabinet with Alcohol in the rooms like other Riu hotels have

There were no bottles in the room when we filmed this video, but the other RIU palaces and one of the other RIU hotels had them back - so we think they are slowly bringing them back…

Hi I’m just trying to choose between the yucatan and tequila would u be able to give me a few pros and cons of each , with the yucatan I deffo prefer the pool and I like that it’s on the beach but I’ve heard that the tequila hotel is better so I’m torn. Thankyou
Sorry, we can’t weigh in too much since we haven’t stayed at either 🤔 what we will say is that Tequila seems to get better reviews than Yucatan.. if you’re a pool person, Tequila might be the one for you - plus you can visit Yucatan as well 👍🏻

How did you get from the airport to the riu?
Our transfers were included in our trip package. We booked through tripcentral.ca

Yea, you’ll have to enter your bank card
Is there a 24/7 lounge in this resort like there is in the palaces?
No. There is not. The only non palace that has a 24 hour lounge is Tequila
Hey , do you know how much for the PCR test?
We paid $125usd. Arranged to have two nurses come directly to our room and conduct the tests. Results came back in about 36 hours or so. Need to book the appointment in advance

If you’re looking for nightlife, check out the RIU Cancun. Cancun has more or a party vibe than the Mayan Riviera.

Drinking age in MX is 18 yr. Don’t think they ask for any out of country ID to prove you’re old enough in your home country.
Thank you for this video I have a concern based on reviews I read looking to book a group trip and reas the bathrooms have zero privacy and no doors? Just glass doors in the shower? Is this true?

They are all on the same beach, so the water will be the same. We recommend joining the Facebook group for whichever hotel you like and you can ask people who are there to share pics of what the beach is like 👍🏻

OMG THEY DESTROYED THE TEQUILA AND THE YUCATAN RESORTS... Guys I have been to these resorts 5 times each but this is the first time I have seen them after their renovations... they ruined all the Mexican charm... they look like Vegas disco clubs, all novo decor... horrible... horrible....
