The Rifleman is based off the Destroid 'Defender' from Macross, which was specifically built as a walking anti-air unit for use against fighter jets and Zentradi battle pods. They were frequently teamed with Destroid Spartans (Archers in Battletech) and Destroid Tomahawks (Warhammers in Battletech) as self defending Anti-air units or as security for Koenig Monster Artillery units.
Ariel Fetters it wasn’t based on it, Battletech started by using art also licensed for anime like Macross in the 80’s (FASA thought they got the licensed to the art legally, but that’s another story). Of course, they made their own names for the ‘Mechs. The Defender became the Rifleman, for example. The Rifleman IIC, I believe, is original to Battletech, the art that is.
I love the RFL-IIC, especially the RFL-IIC-3. Just put in 2x UAC-20s, 4x HMLs, 7 tons of ammo, 12 heatsinks and a 280 XL. Heat management isn't an issue, if you don't spam the HMLs; they're there in case a UAC-20 jams, or if you just need to put out 120 pinpoint damage ASAP. A 70 KPH top end is the icing on the cake, and the 10% Range & 10% Ballistic Cooldown is the sprinkles.
Chronosw is so salty because he's getting put into games where his 3+ KDR and W/L ratio keep getting knocked down, and the reason is Baradul. :) (After all, we can always see pilots on Jarl's List and get a decent idea of their skill/sweat level.)
It’s the best build for the rifleman. Suggestion, chain fire with both mouse buttons, 1&2. Think like a paintball marker. Rate is fire is faster and can get more rounds down range more suppressive. With the right cooldown, you keep shooting. Have done 800+ dmg with mine. Do like a jump jet idea.
im a new mechwarrior player, and im gonna admit, my first mech i bought and the first build im running, its exactly this one (stolen from your old video) at first i struggled a bit with the game in general, but after a handful of games im starting to really really love my rifleman II c-2 thanks man, keep up the good work!
I thought people were dumb to be so salty... But after 3 or 4 matches in a row with a team where you ask to defend a position to win, some people do, but the front of team's nascar runs away to hunt a single light mech... Sometimes people do not play the team game, and when the matchmaker throws you with such against organised teams, it's hard not to get frustrated.
You were in my team when you had this build in another match in tourmaline desert... but our team was way too much spread out so you died early... And I did something stupid in that match so I'm kind of happy you didn't upload a vid about that... XD I had a shotgun-dire wolf-build and tried to flank the enemys but since I just had close range weapons and I was flanking on an open field, they killed me with long-mid ranged weapons...
My God "Frihet" is awesome search TH-cam for an extraordinary Battletech Short Film, My Helmets off to such a Mechwarrior. Baradul, I think you may be stunned by it.
I have rarely ever had someone duck back down when I shoot then with LBXs or even RACs all they do is stand there and take it and shoot back at me the whole time and I die cause all my ACs are just spitballs but theirs are freaking nukes that kill my Armor in 3 to 4 hits then I just blow up.
@Waffen SS Hey there, I've reported you to TH-cam for choosing the name of a former Nazi organisation that was hellbent on race extermination. Let's see what comes of it, shall we?
Nice video Baradul, another game to have in your radar is Dessperados III that will go out on 16th of June. store.steampowered.com/app/610370/Desperados_III/ If you like shadow tactics/Commandos style game in the far west you will enjoy this one. They have now the digital deluxe edition at the price of the standard one.
Might be me, but I think those arms look way too big. Also, fighting in High Town at the end! Don't see it that often anymore. I miss the old version of River City.
I tried shotty builds but LB2 wasn't really enough dakka compared to the AC2's Think it has something to do with its damage drastically dropping off around 50m mark.. Up close YA bro you can nuke up people but beyond the 50m you just throwing pebbles at them. Its even the same for the 5 and 10..
Jason Med stay with your assaults and keep them safe till you learn builds and get skill points. Pick one class and learn it. I started with assaults with my atlas. Medium pick a IS hunchback with the AC/20 perk. Cool down is 2.7 after skills.
Baradul has some guide videos in his archive, which are probably interesting to watch even if they are a bit older, but there are some other youtubers doing guides on MWO as well, like f ex BlackhawkSC.
get a heavy mech first, NOT a assaultclass ... IS battlemechs are much cheaper than clan omnimechs but not neccesarily worse .. otherwise play arround with the rotating trial mechs, definitively collect all the cadetbonus money of your first 25 matches ... get a heavy mech that particularly has a variety of hardpoints, has a good ammount of armor but also fairly good speed with arround 65 to 80 kph ... heavy mechs allow for the broadest variety of builds and roles ... try a loadout/build you think would best suit your playstyle, and lab it in testinggrounds first before you are sure to buy a chassy with the build you want ... know that buying a chassy will always come with the stockbuild it has which means you may likely need more cash for your build unless the chassy has a loadout/build close to your playstyle ... most important of all, know that this is a teamgame, teamwork and communication matter, position yourself suiting your role but also in relation to your team (not just your lance) from there on if you got a basic understanding you can consider expanding to other classes assaults are primarily about heavy firepower and being capable to soak up a good ammount of damage, but they are slow and the least manouverable .. whatever loadout you are running even if it is a ranged build you should be at least in midrange of about 500 meters to the enemy and if neccesary soak up damage for your teamates ... still a lone assault with a brawling build won't survive long when outnumbered, so you still need teammates with you, especialy against light mechs ... Heavy mechs are like the main battle tank class, they fill a whole lot of roles ranging from CQC brawling, indirect firesupport, direct fire support and supression or sniping and even flanking with jetpacks ... pretty much the main reason you rather may start with this class .. medium mechs are more bout supporting other mechs, especialy covering assaults from being backstabbed by light assassins ... generaly speaking if you play this class you either want big mechs with you so you are not the main target or you make good use of cover ... this class is also good for flanking roles while using good firepower with guns but you need to be pretty skillfull with this class... light mechs are primarily more for scouting and backstabbing otherwise firesupport on the higher tonnagerange and primarily used for energy and missile loadouts or machineguns .. yes they are cheap but very difficult to use ... you don't EVER want to be the target of the enemy, so either there are teammates or you use your speed and mobility ... standing still means you are dead, plain and simple ... know when to pick singled out targets, preferably those that are already fairly damaged and especialy when you wanna go use a lowend tonnage backstabber .. finaly consider completing a chassyvariant´s skilltree for your build as it gives a not insignificant boost to your mech´s efficiency to about 20 percent ..
3 main playstyles in quick play: Scout : Fast and mobile mechs that spot and harass (squirrel) enemies Best chassis for role: Lights and very few mediums with at least 125 kph Brawler: Front line heavily armored mechs that usually deal out the best damage which serve as the most important members to keep alive ( not recommended for beginners as they are focused hard) Best chassis: Tanky Heavies and virtually all assault mechs Support: Mechs that support brawlers with range whether it is direct (gauss sniping/ppcs/laser vomit etc) or indirect (LRMs) (probably best starting role for beginners as it will safely teach you about positioning) Best chassis: Slower lights, medium mechs, and the more fragile heavy mechs
Love the videos man. But you need to train your eyes a little better. If you did, you would have seen the Cicada run right past you at the end of the first match. 😂 😂.
Rifleman : Very nice design
Rifleman2: MUSHROOM HEAD
at the exact moment bara say "if i was him" the enemy mech traveresed across his lower left hud section under the bridge E6
Lol i saw that too. Cant see everything
The helmet is its radar. Much like the antennae on the Rifleman, it helps search for and track aircraft, since it's meant for anti-air duty.
Poor job it does. I used the rifleman against dropships and it had no effect. FAIL.
The Rifleman is based off the Destroid 'Defender' from Macross, which was specifically built as a walking anti-air unit for use against fighter jets and Zentradi battle pods. I like how it was the same Cicada at the end of both matches and how salty he was.
To throw him a bone, he was high scorer in both games, if I remember, for his team. But yeah, getting bitched at doesn't get people to improve.
Chronosw basically plays the same Cicada and nothing else. Two ER Large Lasers, and ECM, stands at max range and zaps people.
@@durgan5668 Meh its easy to get high score if you're sniping while your team distracting for you.
He probably has an ECM/stealth assault sniper and expects the team to do all the heavy lifting
@@1228carlito Well, it looks to me like he does all the heavy lifting. 500+ and 600+ damage respectively. You can't expect a 40 ton mech to tank.

I was watching the stealther get by you and dying lol
You can see him on the left side
Respect! I needed 3 minutes to find him on the screen, even knowing he was there somewhere.
Yeah I was laughing then too lol

at 8:05 bara didnt see the little sneaky cheeki breeki running just look at left screen you see a small running dude against the mountain xD
8:05 You see him for a second, fleeing to the left.
@8:05 Target Spotted
Yep, I saw that too. Cue Metal Gear Solid exclamation sound!

I know this was probably recorded before the 28th but I can’t wait for your perspective of what the solo and group que merger means to you.

that poor uziel at the end of the first match... oof
that 2nd game was chaos. I love it when you have a numerical advantage but you're still in a real fight for surival
I have been running this similar build on my Rifleman IIC since the last time you showcased it :) So...much...suppressive dakka!
Holy mechjocks, 1105 Daily Doses! How time flies.
11:26 Hacker spotted! That guys lasers were going freaking EVERYWHERE. Dude did not have his aimbot set up very well, apparently.
Watched this in 0.25 speed. I think you may be right. Seems as the left arm lasers were doing weird stuff. Or maybe it's with arm lock off?

7:25 my bet is shadow cat
Ah, I was wrong. It's a salty cicada pretending to be a raven.
This build was the first mech I ever built, with my cadet bonus. It's served me very well, even if my preferred playstyle is different now.
Рад тебя видеть!)Давно не было видео по мехвариору(
Yet another 'kill everything' build. You worry me, Baradul. 😆
And one more thing: what does the A-10 say?
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT!
I only liked because brrrt!
Thanks for all of the content! Keep being awesome!
Fun matches! I love these weird builds. I'd love to see more light and medium builds!
8:09 you can see the mech run away too the left
8:05 ''If I was him, I would bail over to the city''
*looks over to the city*
*cicada there in the bottom left*
*looks away*
goddammit....
Its better the riffleman than the jagger....?
Its more tanky?
Cyril Figgis' favorite build.
Chronosw was saying his 8 yr/old does better. It's too bad he's already bred, now we can expect another little Ahole when he hits the battle field.
What happened to "Hello Mech Varriors". Nice dakka video Bara
I built this Mech today based on this video, so much fun!
How are you getting 400k c-bills per match??? Even with the current free premium, I'm getting 200k tops in quick play, even with 2-3 kills
Watched a lot of your vids your passion for battle tech is great i’am old schooled late 80’s and 90’s 👍😍
Hooray! MWO content!
That mech should have ability to counter air strikes - primary role for Rifleman.
My God "Frihet" is awesome search TH-cam for an extraordinary Battletech Short Film, My Helmets off to such a Mechwarrior. Baradul, I think you may be stunned by it.

Subbed for the Beard.

sigma is getting captured by our team so thats... not the enemy XD that got me lol
Thanks for the vid sir.👍🏼👍🏼
why never no build codes?
Moar.
MWO.
Plz.
Diggin the enthusiasm!
Flea! nope. Sub in a LRM mech? Dan still without a unit tag and o7 McGo. (game 1) Getting the most out of this edit. GG's Bara
Chronos got most damage on his team in both videos. I guess when you do all that work but your team lets you down, you get pissed.
