The Valdez STOL competion 2019 was a spectacular event with some great outside visitors.
Some of the highlights were: Draco flown up by Mike Patey from Spanish Fork, Utah. Gary Ward in his MX2 from Georgia, a Pilatus PC6 flown all the way from Switzerland and a lot of friends from across the border in Canada.
It was a blast watching airplanes fly at their limits!
Meeting Mike Patey, Cory Robins, Gary Ward, Peter Shripol and many new people was a highlight!

I've driven on the Alaskan Hwy up and back once and have stopped at every gas station or just about every gas station along the way. That was in 1993. I've probably been to that same gas station twice before is what I'm trying to say. It's very remote out there. You should check out Liard Hot Springs the next time you go up there. They have gas, camping for your trailer or RV and a good restaurant as well as a world class hot springs that's free to enjoy.
