I lived for a year off the grid in backwoods Eastern Maine, in a small frame cabin, wood stove, gas lights we installed or kerosene lamps, outhouse and natural spring water that flowed from behind the meadow through a handpump at the kitchen sink. I wanted to be there, and adored the retreat and closeness of nature as we eventually snowshoed a mile into the cabin in midwinter. My sweetie at the the time didn't like it much, and we went our separate ways by summer. No internet, no drone, 35 years ago, only a party line phone, and neighbors a mile away. It was lonely, and beautiful. I love your storytelling and videos of your unfolding, low-tech life. Why not? Choose how you want to live in this world, or the world chooses for you. Thank you for sharing your journey of discovery in beautiful Sweden. I love the gentleness and respect in your family, for one another and your animals. Best wishes to you both.

I was ice skating on lakes from 2 years old to the age of 10 here in germany since then the ice never came back on the lakes, I am now 44years old! Even The Baltic sea was once frozen into thick ice cubes this is all more then 30 years ago, it really makes me sad, all the memory came back seeing you there and you are a bomb iceskater⛸ ! Beautiful work with the branches, I think I like to do this too! And Mathias you have a very good eye and talent with the camera, I know that because I studied film and editing movies in cologne. I mean there are many people doing videos on you tube but they do not really use it in a way where camera movement catches your eye and your total attention!
I live in Canada and we still get plenty of snow and iced up lakes north of the big cities. I was born in Germany and we had snow then. Climate change sucks big time.

Beautiful wreath!!! Love the evergreen. I discovered that placing my twigs for my forms in a mason jar of water overnight helps with flexibility. This year in Minnesota USA ( superior national forest ) we have experienced a year of early ice before the snow. Make our lakes beautiful for skating as well. For the wreaths I recommend holding the branches over a fire for a bit. It will soften it and make it flexible again

I was ice skating on lakes from 2 years old to the age of 10 here in germany since then the ice never came back on the lakes, I am now 44years old! Even The Baltic sea was once frozen into thick ice cubes this is all more then 30 years ago, it really makes me sad, all the memory came back seeing you there and you are a bomb iceskater⛸ ! Beautiful work with the branches, I think I like to do this too!
And Mathias you have a very good eye and talent with the camera, I know that because I studied film and editing movies in cologne. I mean there are many people doing videos on you tube but they do not really use it in a way where camera movement catches your eye and your total attention!
I live in Canada and we still get plenty of snow and iced up lakes north of the big cities. I was born in Germany and we had snow then. Climate change sucks big time.
beautiful video and family. you can soak those branches in hot water and leave in the water for a day or two, they will soften and you can work them easier. i typically use grapevine

Beautiful wreath!!! Love the evergreen. I discovered that placing my twigs for my forms in a mason jar of water overnight helps with flexibility.
This year in Minnesota USA ( superior national forest ) we have experienced a year of early ice before the snow. Make our lakes beautiful for skating as well.
