/* ---- VIDEO INFORMATION ---- */
Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show I'm your host Paul and what an absolutely crazy episode of Gen V that was. It's easily up there as being my favourite in the entire series and I'm so hyped to talk about what happens in it. Throughout this video we're gonna be breaking it all down and going through all the easter eggs, hidden details and our theories for next time. First though just a quick word from our sponsors.
-
Now we pick up with a student being thrown into the woods which is where we realise they've been dropped in with a contagious supes. The kid says 'what did I do' and it possible that he was just grabbed up by Shettys goons without even doing anything wrong. In the past theyd moved kids here from Sage grove which is why Sam was present rather than him being a student.
This is because if a student went missing people might ask questions but here they've started dipping into their classes.
I feel like this shows theyve taken things to the next level and in order to stop students asking about others theyve put them all together.

Paul, it was definitely worth staying up all night for this episode. Bat St crazy !
Yeah they went with the legacy virus storyline. It's funny they want to compassionately control the superhumans So they created virus, could jump to regular humans and kill them as well. That's Marvel comics universe they created Captain America He was a prototype super Soldier to control mutants.
Marie wont gonna go on a heroes arc. This is not a marvel
disappointed you didnt point out how its mocking mega. the dickless guy is wearing a red hat. the supes rights is standing in for white rights. and they are showing how simple people get duped into the movement where after one party and one event suddenly that guys on board with the whole movement. its so overt that its practically not subtext, its just text. me and my friend spent the whole episode discussing it, then... nothing from your show. its like you watched something else.
Is Kate really a villain tho like the humans are clearly the villains in the show lol 😂
I think Shetty's plan would have worked if she went to Butcher and told him about the virus that can kill all Supes. Butcher would have loved hearing about that😂
i would've loved seeing them working together
Her plan is terrible. Some of the supes are bound to quarantine and avoid the virus. Some are bound to be immune. Some are bound to be able to cure it. What happens after humans try to wipe out the supes and the remaining supes settle the score?
I'm not even sure if shetty knows butcher or what the boys has been up to for her to directly go to them her first choice is definitely mallory
@@alphanerd7221 None of that matters especially if the virus can kill someone like Homelander. Worth it in my opinion. Homelander must be terminated at all costs!
Butcher is getting that virus man…it’ll play a big role at the end of the series.
Mallory comparing Shetty to Butcher was amazing. Also great detail that Newman and Marie have the same ability, showing Newman may be able to take down Homelander if she’s fast enough
The deal is that, nobody is butcher. And he’ll be the one to kill Homelander.
Eh I don't know. Her ability probably takes a lot longer on Supes. It's why Rufus' dick slowly expanded before bursting
Yhea, Homelander underestimates Newman
I’ve always thought Newman could kill him, but never wanted to risk trying or maybe doesn’t think it’s time yet?
@@TipoIrritablebro what? there’s definitely comparisons between shetty and butcher. she literally has some of his storyline
I feel like Neuman may ultimately try to set up Marie as the ‘headpopper’, a fail safe plan if people suspect her or find out her powers
great take!
She was in that school at that time nowhere near any of those events so it would be pretty hard to do
Shitttt you’re right, wouldn’t surprise me to see it pinned on her in season 4
genius theory
@@okayannie7263 nah, she wasn't even IN school at that time, she was still living in the home so it'd be pretty hard to pin the events on her when she's constantly monitored by vought
Dean shetty's husband, and kids dying all cos of homelander being on that plane was a beyond insane twist this season if u ask me lowkey felt bad for shetty but deserve it cause why the kids bro like with.
Dean Shetty is/was a freaking genius. Good death for her though.
that plane that homelander destroyed (spit into 2) with his laser eyes... there was a black man and son on that plane.. thats the plane of shetty husband NOT the plan that homelander and wonder woman could not save
@@goodmimosa8040
I had the same thought
@@goodmimosa8040Shetty had a daughter, not a son
What was insane about that? If anything, too predictable. The moment she said "Can you make it contagious?" at the end of Episode 6 was setting up for a revenge story arc. Good episode, but only because they executed the writing well here, before that it was "insanely" mediocre.
This series has no business being as good as it is. Hard to believe that this is the spinoff series. What's with these spinoffs lately? House of The Dragon and now Gen V. I'm hooked and can't wait to next week's episode.
I don't know if you have ever watched the walking dead but dead city and daryl dixon are both way better than the original
@@user-nn3ky1tx7bI actually do agree. The original was good at first but towards the end it was awful.
@@user-nn3ky1tx7bTHEY MADE A SPIN OFF WITH DARYL!?!
Better Call Saul as well. These spin-offs shows are great
@TerranceGeorge222 yeah, they have dead city with Maggie and negan, and daryl dixon, with daryl obviously, and Carol in season 2, next year is the ones who live with Rick and michonne
I loved this episode because you don’t know who to root for anymore. Marie and her friends have been the main characters but Shetty, their antagonist, has been on the same side as Butcher and The Boys without knowing. The writers for the show have been fantastic, everyone said this was gonna be a shitty spinoff of The Boys but this episode really proved them wrong this series has been great so far
And even so, while Butcher may have agreed with Shetty’s use of the virus, the other members of the Boys likely wouldn’t, especially Hughie and Frenchie, who are both romantically involved with supers and would be strongly against sacrificing them to rid the world of supers, while Mother’s Milk’s hatred of supers is primarily directed towards Soldier Boy and he is more than capable of making connections with supers as shown when he befriended Annie.
I think the entire point of The Boys Universe is, you can't root for anyone, they're all terrible people, perhaps with the exceptions of Huey and Starlight ... perhaps.

The second marie mentioned that doctor's name I knew he wasn't going to survive and I love how events in both shows are starting to blend in together. Great story building
Victoria Newman is such a great character/actor, feel like she owns every scene she’s in.
I know this is sound crazy, but I believe that were going to see a "Enemy of my enemy is my friend" situation. With Newman having the Black Death in her hands, this put every single sup's life at threat including Ryan, Himiko, and Starlight. Leaving no choice to the Seven and the Boys to work together in order to take down Newmann. Leaving Butcher and Homelander swallow their pride to save Ryan, Hughie to save Annie, and Frenchie & MM to save Himiko. While Deep and A-train will do it to save their own necks. But that's just my theory.
EDIT: Kimiko
they kinda already did the enemy is my friend thing with both stormfront and soilder boy it would be too repititve
More like "Enemy of my enemy dies second"
bruv that just happened , replace the newman with solja boi or stormfront , i dont think that will happen cz it will the be repeating the same arc or maybe cz they did that thing for 2 seasons
You know it’s Kimiko right?
@@toooriginal3816 And I apologize for that. Thanks for noticing.
Notice how Victoria N. makes Dr Cardosa's nose bleed before popping his head off. It got me back to the Herogasm episode, where she makes Starlight's nose bleed, followed by the words “…but not impossible”.
She was threatening her. Did you not pick up on that? That’s not the first time someone’s nose bled before their head popped.
Same exact thing happened with Susan Raynor

love how the boys makes you hate supes and gen v makes you empathize for them
When Victoria mentioned that Marie could be the first black woman in the seven it made me realize there really hasn’t been a strong black woman in the main series. Which makes me think that this entire series was a way to not only give us more Boys content but to smartly introduce a new supe into the main series that we will be vested in and know the back story when they tease her showing up in the main series at the end of the finale. Then geeking out and getting hyped when not only she shows up but joins the seven but becomes a recurring character in the main plot of the Boys diverting it from the graphic novel even more and keeping those who read it guessing what will happen next both hyped and excited!
they are introducing a new black character named sister sage, who is going to be in the seven with firecracker for season 4. allegedly based on a rumor from a credible site (voughthq), she will be the new vought ceo ? 🤷🏽♀️
They are making a s2 of Gen V. And although I think they could do it, it would be wierd without marie

Interesting they finally indirectly explain how Victoria's powers work. So she and Marie can psionically manipulate blood. Of course this was probably recently defined when they were writing Gen V. However, it does lead to the question, why did Vicki need Edgar's assistance to clean up Tony's remains after she exploded him. She could have easily used her blood manipulation powers to clean up all of the blood splatter
Neumann could probably clean up the blood but not the fleshy remains
They don’t even know she has powers

She wanted to bond with her dad bro
If Nueman has that much control of blood, she could have triggered those seizures in polarity by manipulating his blood. It’s hinting at her being more powerful that any of us could have imagined.
If you couldn’t have imagined somebody who can control blood is the strongest supe you really have a limited imagination. Supe’s all still have functional organs etc so if you can control blood you can literally kill any of them by simply stopping it circulating. Don’t even have to blow their head apart just stop oxygenated blood circulating and any of them would die
Arent seizures more of a brain thing?
@@ChrisNemo you realise blood runs into the brain right? The vast majority of seizures are caused by an issue with blood flow within the brain, all it takes is a small clot and the resulting pressure shoves your brain tissue agains the skull = seizure
@@ChrisNemo People who have intracerebral hemorrhage are likely to have seizures. I just googled that, what if she tried to pop his head but couldnt all the way so this happened, she couldn't pop Homelander, she cant pop all supes only some I believe, so depending on powerful polarity is he might not pop
If g university is supposed to be a x-men parody it's quite fitting that the telepath is the bad person with the one with magnetic power on the good side is quite fitting

The plot just keeps getting better each episode
When I watched the episode I was thinking Shetty didn’t actually die. I thought Kate was screwing with the groups minds. It just seemed so odd to me. Maybe I am completely wrong but I think there might be something there we missed.
I am excited for next week now
I’m also assuming that she had a shapeshifting supe take her place ! Her eyes being that blood shot means she was up to ALOT more than just controlling shetty . Also that lady was keeping an eye out for shetty so this may put the kids in a “villain” arc . We have yet to see the supes when they break out from the woods , so I’m looking forward to that !
U R completely wrong.
@@kellywoods1753her eyes go bloodshot the harder she pushes. it was a hint that she did more than tell her to tell the truth, she said to stand still, and kill herself when it is time
Yeah actually, the more I think about it, the more I think that Cate and Shetty have some hijinks going on. Shetty mentioned one more push and I think this has something to do with that. Plus there's no way the writers wouldn't follow up on that. Cate probably also has more loyalty to Shetty because she was getting honest love from her, while nobody else trusts Cate.
As I'm writing this, I'm convincing myself. Plus there was a previously established shapeshifter? And plus Cate's eyes are SUPER red, probably from convincing this shapeshifter that he is Shetty or to memorize some lines or whatever. Yeah there's no way Shetty's dead.
@@kellywoods1753this is my theory as well. She used the dude that shapeshift into Rufus in ep5.

@@kellywoods1753i was def thinking of cate making the dad have a seizure
Nothing in the preview to the next episode alludes to that though. I think Cate’s gone to the deep end and resents normal people; makes sense when she’s said how it’s their parents fault for their powers, and was manipulated by Shetty to destroy supes.
@@burgerandy2729It could still be a massive dream sequence idk
@kellywoods1753 I think Neuman gave him the seizure by messing with the blood flow or popping a vessel in his brain.
Cate is definitely going The Dark Phoenix/Scarlett Witch route for sure. Like Jean Grey unintended but she feels betrayed, anger, grief, guilt, and sadness. So she’s definitely going to hurt some bad people and probably some she likes unintentionally. Unlike X-Men maybe this show can do it right. It’s been so good so far and I can’t wait for more.
Victoria also reminds me of Skrulls/Secret Invasion from the MCU.

These writers are so so good at being unpredictable. Episode 7 we see the dean and the scientist guy both die. I absolutely love this whole the Boys universe and Gen V has been really good so far. I think the virus is what will eventually kill Ryan and thus making Homelander snap.
But the thing I like to think about is that the virus effects people with compound v inside them. Ryan was born a supe so no v right he’s jus naturally a supe
Ryan doesn’t have comp v in his blood though… he’s a “natural” so the virus shouldn’t affect him.. ??
i doubt it, ryan should be more powerful
@@lordescanor8232Ryan is only half supe, he’s not more powerful
@lordescanor8232 but he's not
Here is a moral and practical question... if Shetty had succeeded in wiping out all supers, would she be a villain or mankind's savior? The young Supes often mirror Homelands belief that their power makes them superior to other humans and they and whatever they want.
I think the genie is out of the bottle. Even if you wipe out all the supes they will just make more. And contagious virus could easily mutate and start killing humans. It's incredibly reckless. Definitely a villain. Maybe if she had a non contagious non viral antidote to V that just depowered supes you might be able to justify that. But it would probably just be better to let everyone have V for free to level the playing field.
She’d be both. While we don’t often see them in this series surely there’s plenty more genuinely good supes out there that we just haven’t seen that Shetty would’ve killed regardless.
I love that a sort of stand-in for Butcher is the main antagonist of this show
Thanks for having this out so quickly! I’m sure if you did a preview breakdown for the finale it would do quite well, and I would definitely watch. Also I need more "theory time" in my life
Marie could use her powers heal Butcher. Kate might not have killed Shette. She could have used her powers to just make it look that way.

I've been telling for so long, The Boys will team up with this gang eventually. Or at least some of em. Now that we know Marie's power are the same as Victoria Neumann's I think she's the only one who can stop Homelander. I guess The Boys S4 will be about these two fraction of the Sups fighting each other. Sam and Cate are already at the rogue Sups side. And Neumann probably will take over the Vaught and leads the Sups. Full disclosure, this show and The Boys universe in general is the most interesting thing that we had in recent years.
Sam is definitely on the supes side
Sam is the one that will screw everything up for everyone
Shetty and Butcher would have made a diabolical team since both have the same goals in taking out all Supes😂

I love how clear this show has made it that Cate is the most powerful character here, especially with this episode. What we saw last episode was her on her meds, without them she can hear people's thoughts AND control them from a few feet away??
Since the last ingridient Dr Cardosa needed for making the Virus complete or as lethal as possible was a person with blood ability does that mean that now Victoria Neuman might finish it and actually have leverage over Vought and even Homelander . Quite excited to see the finale !
The reveal that Vic has blood powers like Marie was so good

This show and the boys are exactly how connected content should be!! This plot and story writing is next level to really sattire our current landscape!! Also, Victoria Newman is bad ass and I completely knew as soon as she met Dr.Cardoza!!
Holy shit as well Dean Shetty was on the complete right to hate Homelander, but she wanted to pull a Hitler towards the entire supes population.
Haaaa! Might be a "peach tea" reference. I think tying the plane incident to Shetty's motivation, was another instance of this show (and The Boys.) Showing the big 2 how it should be done. Zack Snyder tried to do this with the Metropolis attack tying into Bruce Wayne's motivation. We all know how that simply did not work the way he intended. Love seeing this show and The Boys upstage Marvel and DC. I love those characters. But I think this is special. The comics themselves have struggled to write new characters/supes. And these 2 shows (mostly Gen V) have done it.
Great video. I loved this episode. It hits very close to home for those of us in america.
When Newman blew his head off I had the biggest jumpscare like i didnt really expected that 😂😂
Then the song playing at the ending was hilarious

Gen V is the best example of how to be inclusive without excluding the right. I feel like they did an amazing job at teaching both the left and right about both sides. It was neutral and felt like a life lesson. Everyone is just trying to find happiness and cope with a world that is increasing becoming more complicated to navigate for both sides and all ages.

the shetty/butcher parallel from mallory was awesome
your videos are amazing
I think we've missed something major that leads into the next season of the boys.
When Shetty and Cate meet at Shettys House, she notices that Cate isn't wearing gloves. After Shettys rejection from joining forces with Mallory, she says something along the lines of " I'll do it with or without you" referring to releasing the virus. I think she has a small sample of the virus on hand that she was planning on giving to Mallory. Personally I think the combination of Shettys rage, rejection, and coming face to face with Cate, she knew Cate was going to kill her. Just before they hold hands, I think Shetty contaminated her hands with the sample virus she intended to give to Mallory. I think Cate is already infected and yet to show symptoms. I also think it's possible that she's contaminate others she's touched since then, but we also know that the supe virus does survive long on surfaces ( much like covid).
Woah, that would be crazy if it happened.
Good plot 🤔
That virus spreads through body fluids just like aids so the infection is not gonna happen
It's actually smart from Shetty , knowing that Kate touches people. And if Marie actually blows up her hands it might spread the virus even more.
I think Kate is making everyone see what she wants them to see. Shety isn’t dead. Just my theory.
You are right i think
That could be true but how would she make them see that if she never touched them?
@@shoepluggedla2205The same way they black out in previous episodes and appeared at the party, they didn't remember anything or how they got there
But why would she reveal the entire plan?
@@shoepluggedla2205did you even watch the laat episode? It was the pills shetty was giving her that was limiting her powers the gloves were a placebo
Did noone else not connect Victoria wiping abit of brain matter off her hand at the end and at the beginning of the episode Cordova saying it's transmissible by contact through fluids and him being the plauge father I'm sure it's in his system? Am I overthinking? if not you're welcome for the theory video 😂😂😂
Giga brain
He left some of that virus in the Shetty's bottle too😉😎
@@ggr68 oh crap yeah when he added some of that home brewed apple juice to her whiskey 😂😂
lol that sniper wolf slide in was super smooth
this was my favourite episode so far that ambulance scene was absolutely pheonomenal
Loved seeing grace mallory again! Her and butcher are my favorite characters
The Kate + Shetty scene was bloody insane
Gen V: Not the X men show we thought we needed, but the X Men show we deserved
Almost everything in this show has been done in the X-Men comics. It's the main inspiration.
The music video for heads will roll features people getting torn apart with confetti for blood, just like the puppet scenes
"With great power, comes great responsibility "
The Boys and Gen V shows are the definition of that slogan.
I’m dying here waiting for your finale breakdown.
When Billy will hear about that virus oh boi x), scorched earth I say. S4 of the Boys is gonna be fun.
3:03 You didn't mention that those headphone posters are clearly inspired by the early Apple ipod posters and ads. Both of which feature earphones/headphones.
Xmen Parallels have never been more evident. GREAT 7th EPISODE
This series gets better with each passing episode! This episode was by far the best of the series!!!! I'm totally in love
I still suspect that the end scene where cate stands next with Dean shetty and making her off herself is just a mind maze that she did in the last episode. It's a front to show to her friends. And I feel like it's Andre that's going to defeat Cate for it.
No way that was actually Shetty. I'd say it was that Shapeshifter named Benny from Episode 5
Nah man, if you watched the episode 8 preview it looks like the group of kids splits up and fights eachother civil war style. Shetty is gone
I am curious to see who Mallory had follow Shetty after the meet up. It didn't seem like Butcher was the one she was talking to, maybe Jeffery Dean Morgan's character..
Agree, it's probably a character we meet in season 4.
I appreciate them giving shetty all of comic Billy’s rage. They are killing it so far!!
6:08 saying out loud exactly what they needed to hear was so silly LoL
You missed a deet: Jordan was being filmed punching the girl... and it would have an effect on his reputation of being in the top 5 and it would be nice to see how that plays out given that he really cares about his image.
I think they blasted the phone with their energy blast while it was being recorded, so the phone is probably broken.
I agree, this was the best so far!!!
Also Vought A Burger is a rip off my favorite burger chain in the US called Whataburger as some might know. It’s also has some McDonald’s type of logo/design. While there in the US get the Hatch Green Chili cheeseburger it will change your life. In N Out isn’t as great as everyone says.
13:00 shadows of The Emperor revealing himself to Anakin here imo
My theory is that victoria will temporarily prevent homelander from using his power ,and kill him.
I think that's a great idea but I really think Butchers whole arc has been building towards him killing homelander but maybe he will de-power Homelander in order to kill him
Lol. Why would You think of all characters, Neuman would kill him?
Another comment mentioned Cordova’s brain matter touched Neuman. I think she’s cooked bc he definitely has the virus in him.
Absolutely phenomenal episode. Best of the season and probably the best episode I've seen this year of anything. I knew that plane scene was gonna have grave consequences
It was mind-blowing 🤯
6:00 I was thinking Cardosa looks like Henry Cavill! LOL
Love the channel Paul, but I was disappointed that you, along with every other channel breaking down this show, missed the obvious reference to "Real Genius" with the iced up dorm hallway.
Literally nobody seems to have caught this besides myself...
I enjoyed it I can’t wait for the finale and the fact that malorie show up and was maybe on the phone with billy is crazy love this show the cross over is insane and amazing love this
I feel like Neuman drove through chunks at the end. Maybe some pieces get found in her tires later lol
The sniperwolf joke had me in tears lmao
I can't believe that every reviewer I watch is literally just now in this episode or last. Realizing that Jordan's necklace is half chain, half pearls. Omfg. Literally one of the biggest details about them
I noticed one thing that might be a subtle Easter egg that happened when the students started rioting when Victoria Neuman was on stage. The students started chanting, "You will not control us". That seemed far to close to the Shia LaBeouf "He will not divide us" chants he was doing during the Trump election. Considering both are centered around politics it seems like it could be a reference to that.
It's pretty obvious that what Cate did at the end was the final push that Shetty was talking about. Cate turned Shetty into a matyr
A piece of his head lands on Victoria after she kills him. He could possibly be carrying the virus and the camera panning to her hand as she flicks it off seems like it was for reason. I think she's gonna get sick lol
Could you do a breakdown on a nightmare on elm street
Let’s bring light to this comment
I didn’t know why they recognized eachother. I assumed the patients knew eachother but your assessment that they’re both students makes sense.
I am excited and shouting😂
Victoria is blood bender too. But more psychic blood bender❤❤❤
I feel like Neuman gave Polarity a stroke with her blood powers.
If Shetty isn’t dead, we’ll find out through Andre since he wasn’t there and subsequently not pushed like the others
