When adding the buckles with grosgrain.... I like use a little extra grosgrain on one side to make a piece of it stick up to make a loop, then I can hang the bag with a carabiner from the grosgrain. I really like I having the option to open the bag while it is still hanging. I use a smaller version of this as my snack bag on the outside of my backpack so it's easier to find the snack I want to eat. Plus if I never unhook the bag from my pack, I cannot accidentally forget it.

Great instruction video Sarah! Gonna follow your build sans sewing machine. Making a food/bear bag and I will be using dyneema tape on double fold seams and quad folding 3” dyneema strips with tape for the buckle. Thanks much your help!

It would have already been inside out while you sew and tape the seams and sew the first piece of grosgrain into the rolled hem. You then turn it right-side-out to sew on the grosgrain with the clips.
Great video. Once question; after the roll top hem is completed do you then turn the piece ‘outside in’ (to put the taped seams on the inside) before sewing in the clips? Wanted to confirm when to do that. Thanks again for sharing this!
Their patterns look very nice, but the website link needs a pen & paper to be able to transfer it to a browser (for me anyway), so if you could make the link work that would be really handy. Thanks
I use a 80(12) universal needle and all purpose sewing thread. Nothing fancy. You just want to avoid using overly large needles or needles designed for knit fabric.
Perhaps instead of cutting holes in the bottom just make a diagonal seam with the machine while its flat.. it leaves dog ears on the inside but way faster and easier than cutting and measuring those corners..

Hi, great DIY. For me you have to flip inside out somwhere befor attach the grograin and the clip....or not?

With her method, though, you get to preserve those 2 little squares of fabric. Dyneema is like $40++/yd., so saving every little bit is important.
This is a completely reasonable approach, but us ultralight freaks gotta save every percentage of a gram.
