Ye, its like saying ant is slightly better then jaden hardy
In a playoff series you could argue Ant is already better. Especially when you count defense. People are too in love with stats. It’s all about who is tougher to stop from taking over. Let’s see how it plays out.
Ant plays defense. At a high level. That’s what we’re doing here.

I think with all the offensive and defensive abilities both back courts have, they practically cancel each other out. My question is, how do the Mavs bigs match up against the Wolves bigs? Clippers only had one decent big Zubac and he played really well against the Mavs. Chet was OKCs ONLY center and got bullied because of his Jack Skellington build. KAT is a 4 time all star. Rudy is now a 4 time DPOY. Naz just won 6MOY. How does Gafford and Lively play against this big 3 headed monster?
Rudy doesn't bully in the post like Zubac. KAT needs to blow up for Wolves to do well.

That’s what it would look like if the mavs somehow win. Kyrie would also be elevated as likely one of the most clutch players ever even further bc I can totally see him having another shot like he did in 2016 where he hit the dagger against GSW
2011 Mavs is different that roster is experienced players like Kidd Dirk Chandler Stevenson Stojakovic Caron Butler Terry this Mavs team are younger many of them have no playoff experience

I think KATs offensive versatility could be a huge factor. His post up skills on smaller players such as Washington will be a problem. He's also an underrated passer... If doubles do come.
Yeah, KAT dropped 60 on PJ this year. It's comical. Some delusional Mavs Stan actually said he is better. And than you have other Mav Stan's just adding up Luka and Kyries stats vs Edwards/Conley and using that as their deep dive analysis. It's hilarious. Mavs not having Maxi in this series is a big advantage for Minnesota, will be very interesting if they can get him back at some point in this series
He’s supposed to be reevaluated in 2 days. He was running on the treadmill and shooting at practice the last few days but no contact basketball or live play. I could see him being available game 6 or 7 assuming it goes that far. Huge loss for Dallas. With Maxi the Mavs could potentially play Gobert off the court like the Mavs did in the Utah series

@NickJaramillo-gi7gs because Wolves could choose to NOT double jokic in the 3point line or long range 2 until he was in the post where wolves could rotate much faster from. Now they have 2 (!!) killers that can shoot it from anywhere on the floor so double teaming doesn't work cause they can't recover from the disadvantage recovered. Luka is better offensively than Jokic for this exact reason. There's not a single coverage he can't break down. Kyrie is very similar to this but more inconsistent 'cause he relies on more tangible stuff regarding his skill whereas Luka can have 100/100 good possesions cause of the way he is built. 6'7 235lbs. @@blueboy1788it will definitely be drop coverage. They will let Luka take heavily contested jump shots with heavy ball pressure from Ant, Jaden, Naw & Kyle Anderson or funnel Luka into Rudy in the paint

The mavs almost lost 2 home games to the thunder lol...
Delusional as it gets, Luka has struggled against worse defensive teams in the thunder and clippers but you trust Luka vs this wolves team who just beat the defending champs and completely dominated them in two of their wins? Let’s see how that turns out..
Playmakers will decide this highly defensive series and Mavs have the advantage there.
Should be an absolutely bloodbath both ways.
Go Mavs!
I'd be more concerned with rebounding against this MN team. Mavs were able to dominate OKC and LAC with size against Chet / Zubac. Won't happen against the wolves who just out rebounded the Nuggets.
@@carson2money That's fair. Same could be said for MN vs this DAL team who are way better equipped to rival them in that metric than PHX and DEN. The physicality of this series is going to be unrivaled from anything we've seen so far this playoffs.

@@carson2moneyI think rebound battle will be neck n neck. I agree it will depend on playmaking and Dallas has advantage. Will be very close series.
@@Optimizki PHX 100% agree. Haven't looked at stats yet, but pretty sure DEN is somewhere in the top 5 of rebounding.
did your lighting change or did you get a new (green) prs? the other one looked purple??
I understand your point of the Wolves defense frustrating an efficient Nuggets offense, but they only had Murray a guard that can dribble the ball. As much as we like Jokic operating from the post, he’s not Luka on the perimeter. So while Wolves could feast on Murray, if they try to feast on Luka, he can just swing it to Kai. I think this is a point folks are ignoring. Murray/Jokic is great combo of G/C, but Luka and Kyrie’s point of attack as two great PGs that can handle and hit the 3 ball at high frequency is a very different animal that can bend the defense.
And the wolves didn’t have to deal with multiple skilled ball handlers and shot makers when they played phoenix? I think you’re underestimating the wolves perimeter defense here.
@@abrahamawes1233 I get wanting to compare the Mavs ISO players with the Suns guys, but Booker/KD/Beal aren’t the playmakers that Luka and Kyrie are. Also, Mavs have an elite defense, which Suns didn’t have. So I’m not saying Luka and Kai will cook the Wolves, just that the’ll have points where they can score, while also having their defense affect Minnesota.
Do you know how many dribblers and shooters did suns have?
@abrahamawes1233 that Suns offense was so disjointed I don't think it's a fair comparison. You had 3 great ballhandlers/scorers, but nobody that could actually run an offense, just a series of isos. Luka and Kyrie both presenting scoring and passing threats from the perimeter is also a way different loon from what the Nuggets do, great as they are. And with how big Luka is I don't know of I expect Jaden to hold up against him, not to mention getting in foul trouble.
Throw in Ant's jump shot coming back to earth and Dallas' rim protection being better than any we've faced yet and I could see even something like Mavs in 5 of everything goes wrong.
@@angelsaint-hilaire4372 The Mavs have a better defense than both the Suns and Nuggets, but idk if I would say it's elite?
As a long time Mavs fan it is JARRING to see that pre-trade Mavs team in those clips with Powell at center and 6'5" Grant Williams at power forward. No size inside at all.

Great analysis, but just a few points from a Mavs fan: 1. Lively is a completely different player after the last couple of games where he has become much smarter 2. Kyrie has shown he can take pressure off of Luka and is a better Mike Conley 3. Luka is a better playmaker then Ant so he can hunt mismatches and make the correct reads. I think it will come down to how much Luka can get Ant and Naz into foul trouble and whether PJ and DJJ can make the 3 pointers.
Jaden will be guarding luka. And mike conley isn’t anything like kyrie.
Ant gets like 1-2 fouls a game and Naz is a bench player lmfao. Good luck if you think foul trouble on those guys is what you think it will come down to.

Wolves in 6
Too your point about djj being in Front for Contests i don't quite agree because with his bounce he is still able to contest the action with the ball
I feel like naz and Kat should be together a lot more in this series just to free up ant, and pull lively or Gafford away from the rim.
Kat and naz showed more than enough that they can hold up defensively. So Rudy isn't needed too much in this series
What are your thoughts on the importance of Rebounding in this series? A big part of Dallas' offense and defense was their ability to just outrebound OKC and the Clippers which im not sure is sustainable against Minnesota.
Also, how would Dallas guard Minnesota when both KAT and Naz Reid are on the floor and would that potentially compromise Dallas' offensive scheme?
People still underrating Luka after all those years lol. He is about to send a message along with kyrie.
❤ both teams. ❤ the leaders on both teams. No B.S. 90s style Wolves team vs. beautiful modern Mavs team. I expect an epic series. Expect some crazy holy shit moments from Luka , Ant and Kyrie
dont forget the Xfactor jaden mcdaniels
im just waiting for the rudy how the hell did you make that moment. we are 4-0 in those games this postseason lol
How do you know who will be guarding who? Honest question
gobert on lively/gafford, ant on kyrie, jaden on luka to start game 1 is a lock for sure. kat on pj or djj could go either way with conley guarding the other... when naw comes in i think he takes kyrie, and depending on how jaden is doing on luka, ant takes either luka or dj, maybe pj in those minutes. kat moves down to lively gafford when naz is in. this is based on watching all the wolves games this year and how they like to deploy jaden and everyone else.
not sure exactly how dallas wants to defend ant but my guess is dj on ant, luka on jaden, kyrie on conley, and then pj would have to take kat, and lively/gafford would take on rudy primarily. unless each team finds a better matchup that works during the series. this is what i see.
I was very interested in a Mavs vs Nuggs series(especially after that left handed game winner by Ky). Am I the only one still shocked bout how good Minn is tho. Twolves vs Nuggs was easily one of the best series EVER, at least top 10. Ant vs Ky or Luka is gonna be hella entertaining.
taking my wolves hat off, i wouldnt have minded the series as a whole if it werent blowout after blowout. it was never really exciting after halftime except for like 2 games out of the 7
If either Lively or Gafford get injured it's probably over. They need to play and they need to play really well for the Mavs to win in my opinion.
Luka has never beat Golbert in the playoffs! He didn't get traded to the Timber Wolves from Utah.
Timberwolves have never even played this team. Nothing you can watch on tape post trade. Can't wait
Lol Luka definitely beat Luka in the playoffs & he definitely got traded from Utah
KAT decides this series. He is a huge mismatch for the mavs
All these numbers will mean nothing when it’s time to be physical. KAT & Rudy both soft
@@pleasedonttemptme5963why do you keep quoting these accolades of the guys inside the paint when they are playing a 1 & 2 position oriented team. Hated? Seems like most NBA people are hoping for Edwards to become "the face of the league". None other than Legler himself even said its true!

I forgot we did a bracket at my place of work, and I forgot that I alone took the Mavericks win the championship. 💰
Big questions for me are all on the Mavs side -- Luka's health, can Maxi play, and can Gafford get back to regular season form. That's what they'll need to match Minnesota's size IMO.
@@pleasedonttemptme5963 People keep saying that nobody can stop Ant but that's not really the reality at all. Ant is still young and inconsistent, Nuggets defense wasn't at the Mavs level and he avg. 27ppg while SGA avg. 32ppg against Dallas, the 2nd best defense in the Playoffs. Ant had 3 games with less than 20 points, including game 7.
This series is far more dependent on Luka and Mavs' health. Luka looked around 70% and he finally finished 2 good games in a row, if he can keep that up, that might be enough. These "ok" Luka games were 30pt triple-doubles in FG55+%. Less than 20 shots per game is low volume for Luka but he can still impact the game in many other ways.
Will Maxi get back? If he does, how well can he play? T-Wolves have size but they don't play BIG like Denver because neither Golbert and KAT are big post-up guys like Jokic is. T-Wolves have size to counter Denver on the defensive side, but they don't play BIG on offense.
And OKC was also a big transition team and Mavs are good in preventing TO, although they were not that great against OKC, but if you minimize TO, you minimize transition points, you can't go up and down in half-court defense.
Luka and kai got much better on defense with the whole team.Lively got much better.PJ and DJJ got much better on offense. And ant stops himself a lot of times. He is not there offensivly most of the game not even every game
honestly maxi might be the biggest key if he were healthy.
They don’t have an answer to the 6th man of the year Naz Reid… to much height advantage for Minnesota I don’t see alley oops by Luka to the Dallas bigs can work against Gobert & KAT
Wolves in six is my pick as well. If MN carries the momentum and confidence Denver gives them and continues that level of defensive play, they could win in 5 with a hobbled Luka and home court advantage.
Mavs in 6.
All the pressure is on the Wolves. They have the home court, they have all the media picking them, they have all the attention on them. I think Dallas will win this series.
Wolves' bigs were a great factor in their series against Denver because Nugget's offense focuses with Jokic whom is a paint player. Dallas is more of a perimeter offense that tries to push the ball as much as they can. KAT and Reid will be a great factor but if the Mavs' pick and roll is clicking, they will be a non factor defensively and the wolves will have to adjust.
Ant definitely gonna poster Lively
Yes 😂
I am also leaning towards Minnesota. I mean it’s hard not to with how well they have played this post season.
Having said that, I can never count out Luka. Because he’s playing through injuries these playoffs, it makes it easier for me to pick Minnesota but I thought Luka did look a lot better physically in the last 2 games against OKC.

might be wishful thinking as a celtics fan
the wolves do t have length and athleticism on the perimeter? what?
Naz Reid is still due for a 25 point explosion off the bench. We saw NAW have a mini explosion already, but he's due for another one off the bench. Jaden needs to continue shooting with confidence and the Wolves will be alright. Anyone Dallas will throw at KAT will be too small and KAT should always have a good look or create open shots.
Facts
was saying the same thing going into denver series. he did make some impact moments for sure, but still didnt get the classic naz reid performance yet. and im excited for it.
Anthony Edwards.....43 / 27 / 19 / 44 / 18 / 27 / 16. He could be the single most inconsistent playoff scorer this side of James Harden. He played a Denver team who had NO ONE to guard him except Braun (who only can play 15-25 minutes a game because of his scoring), and that's what he averaged. Now he's going against the BEST defense in the NBA for the last 2 months of the season. They have 3 small forwards who can match up against him, and a versatile power forward who can do everything except stop his quick move on a drive. I'm really looking forward to seeing if he can be a high level scorer against a real defense.

Minnesota in 6th minnesota has had a relly hard playoff run
The Suns were a joke. Nothing tough about that.
People underestimate how much that Denver loss was because of murray being injured and mpj missing open looks.
Murray injury was not an excuse. He played every game and went absolutely off for a few games and was SPRINTING around screens and all over the court. Their missed shots collectively was due to pressure from the defense and they are a much better offense than the Mavs when clicking.

@@ctoaun23Um no, they are not trash, they got beat by a better team. OKC not beating Phoenix hah quit.. Lakers would. Mavs would, but Mavs about to lose now..
Sorry Luka.. 💀
@@pleasedonttemptme5693 Suns were hot garbage.
The absence of Maxi looms huge. With a healthy Maxi - think Mavs roll in 5/6. Without him, Minnesota has an edge on size alone. This is about as close to a toss up of a series you can get. It’s going to come down to Luka’s health, AE’s consistency or lack thereof, Kyrie’s aggressiveness and lack thereof. The X factors are Naz and THJ. If the NBA wants market and drama storylines - a finals of Mavs/Celts would be the script.
Oh no jason picked my twolves. Not good lmao.
Lets just see on thursday.... Wolves at 5
So either way it will be a bloodbath and as a Dallas fan it hurts to hear Minnesota in 6, but I can hear the arguments... What I do wanna say is that dallas offense is a completely different animal than Denver and luka has been looking better and better as the post season has progressed plus he got some rest now... I say dallas in 7, though Minnesota winning wouldnt be a shock
thats fair. if our role players dont step up offensively for minnesota, its gonna be a tough series for us. but it always seems like one of the 3 main role players step up when a game needs it.
Wolves in 6. ☺️
Let’s go mavs!
Flaming yo ass when the series over...
Mavs fans will be quiet in 4

@@pleasedonttemptme5963so lucky that u leave the 1% 💀💀💀
Fun fact with conley ant towns gobert mcddabuels reid walker healthy this team hasn't lost a road playoff game together
they did lose game 5 tho
@@kbrewersConley was out. Can you read?
I just don't see Minnesota losing to Dallas, specially now they beat Jokic a difficult player to defend, because he can beat you in a verity of different ways, now i no Luka is no joke, and Ky is a different beast, but i just don't see them winning against that swarming defense Minnesota plays. And Dallas doesn't have that scoring thread at the center spot unless Klever comes back and hes not a big, hes a 4. I got The wolves on 6, although I'm leaning more on 5 games as Dallas is not so good at home
Thanks for picking the wolves , now the mavs really finna win this series thank God 🥹
Sure, T-Wolves might have great stretches against Dallas, even though Mavs have a good offense. But on the other hand, Mavs had the 2nd best defense in the Playoffs and the T-Wolves offense isn't that great, far worse than OKC's.
So the only way to say that the Mavs can win some games but they are not god enough is by believing that either the Mavs defense won't be good or that the Wolves offense will be much better than it has been so far.
But that doesn't seem quite logical. If I was to pick Minnesota, it would be because Luka is not 100% and because they will miss Maxi Kleber.
Go Wolves!!!!
wolves got taller bigs but it dont matter we got ky and luka. We taking this series. luka aint scared of no one. Hes gonna remind everyone why hes the best player in the world.
Jason you got it wrong Luka with one leg outpdofome Ant😂
The thing is, KCP, MPJ, and Aaron Gordon disappeared. If they had shown up in game 7, the game would have been very close. I know fans won't agree, but it's the truth.
Fade this guy every chance you get. You will be a winner in the end
the only reason him and most teams are picking minnesota over dallas is if luka still have injury so if he doesn't have injury issues dallas should win
Wolves in 5 (five)
Um, I'm pretty sure that Luca played a game where Mavs lost because Nas Reid killed him on the 3s.
Wolves in 5
I got the Wolves in 7 with 6 games possible.
Not a fan of either of these teams. From an unbiased perspective Mavs in 6 or seven. You got 2 guys who can get there own shot at anytime for Dallas, and you got 1 guy for Minnesota. Great offensive players always beats good defense.
Ok thanks for the video, this was the one that after watching and carefully listening to you for solid 7 months made me hide you from my suggestions.
Deep analysis coupled with poor reasoning doesn't usually get you far.
Series will be decided on 3 point shooting from supporting players because Dallas leaves the worst shooter open and also creates the best shots.
See ya next year, but in the meantime watch the Olympics to learn a thing or two about bball coaching and analysis
Peace out
If this insane defense just managed to bully a jokic led offense these other teams dont stand a chance
Wolves are built to beat Denver. Luka’s attack is a lot different from Jokic operating from the post. Also, the other side is how will Wolves score on the Mavs defense. Wolves haven’t faced a great defense yet these playoffs and even then their half court at times struggles a lot.
What ? You a casual
Denver’s offense is the most overrated in basketball. They are a one man band. EVERYTHING flows through Jokic. Remove Jokic off the Nuggets and they’re a lottery team. The narrative stating otherwise is laughable. If Jokic had any sort of supporting cast they would have beaten Minnesota in 5 or 6
Wolves just doubled Jokic in the post and MPJ and KCP couldn't make an open shot. Luka operates from the perimeter
@@timetowakeup6302You're right
This dude is a Anthony Edwards d rider
He literally said the Wolves had no chance against the Suns and the Nuggets. This is the first time he's picked the Wolves to win
This the same guy who said antman would be the best

Your name is MavDon…
Because he will be fanboy
Ant is better across the board in stats these playoffs against better competition than ur daddy Luka so go cry about it ig
@@BlackBSolz so 10 games ? You got it man. Let’s forget the first 82 games and let’s forget assists and rebounds 🫵🏽😂
@@pleasedonttemptme5963 dawg LUKA IS PLAYING AT 50% HES BEEN INJURED and still controlling games with his playmaking ability
Wolves should be well prepared for Luka and the mavs. Dealt with booker/kd and then Murray and jokic. Luka was inefficient against middle of the road defensive team in the clippers and then a top 5 defensive team in the thunder. Now they are going up against the best defensive team. Also Dallas wont be able to control the paint like they did against the thunder. I say wolves in 5 or 6.
LETS GO MAVS
Minnesota in 6.
