It is a pity that this soundtrack did not reach America and the rest of the countries where the 4Kids version was distributed. I never understood their eagerness to change these epic songs.
The dub did have good music though. And the way the dub _utilised_ its soundtrack was far superior overall - several times watching the sub where music came on and I found it mistimed or ill-suited. Maybe it's some kind of cultural difference... Not including Passionate Duelist was a crime, though. But at least we get Dan and Eric in exchange lol
It's called licensing rights, you don't get a bundle deal on those sorts of things during negotiations unless you are one hell of a deal maker, also Eric Stuart more than likely wanted to flex his musical talent in the English release. 4Kids don't own Konami, they work with them to help distribute the show but change the series up due to archaic parental guidelines. It would cost Konami money too distribute that music worldwide because they'd have to pay for a global license instead of just a national one. I mean I doubt everything I said was 100% accurate but it was a more in depth take with a decent amount of guess work on why Passionate Duelist was only for Japan.
It's also true for Magic, Vanguard, Digimon and Pokemon Not just yugioh All Duels rest on stacking the odds in your favor and overcoming the worst your opponent can throw at you.
OMG how did I not knew yu-gi-oh had such masterpiece!? I'm mad with myself for knowing butterfly from Digimon but not suspecting they might have changed the themes for Yu-gi-oh as well

In Kazuki world everyone can be a main Character and that is how he created Yugioh. We are all main character we just need to use the right cards and believe in the heart of that card.. deep message from Kazuki R.I.P believe in yourself and the destiny you want to achieve.
