    Thanks. It was nice to actually hear something through the board. I'm considering the Heritage Edition for my studio.

    Good video content. A few weeks ago I received the first new generation Audient 4816SE that was made. It is a wonderful console.

    Good knowledge that Audient audio interfaces and consoles have same preamps.

    The excitement of seeing Jesus very soon took away my attention of the console :)))
    But anyway...GREAT console and thanx for the insight!

    I spent to much on vacation trips for the year. There was an auction in NH that ended yesterday. This entire Recording studio was auctioned off. This board went for $6,000, i'm killing myself thinking I should of waited another few weeks before booking all my trips for the year. everything sold for 50% or less of retail. Was so close to that last missing piece of the home studio.

      A lot of your favorite records were probably recorded and mixed with drinks, cigarettes, and many other things (or people) on the console as well.

    I have the Audient 2802... made in Britain -- before they sold the rights to Focusrite and went to Chinese manufacturing. Love the pre amps, control surface and automation -- and the compressor is killer... just wish it had those e.q. modules!

    @BIGEGO Quick question, what's the desk that the 4816 is housed in? Looks like a custom job. Very, very nice!

    Beautiful Console for the price, it is also inline and the routing is VERY flexible. If you have outboard gear and you are looking for a console that is leaning towards an SSL type vibe, this is it! Not only to do you have your 16 inline channels (meaning you can input on one part and monitor/mix on the other fader), you alsoT have four stereo channels ideal for effects, you have 8 aux's (12 on larger consoles) and you also have 8 buss channels with insert point and I believe TWO output sections for each buss channel. Warren Huart (very famous Mixer Producer who runs Produce like a Pro TH-cam Channel) uses the 24 channel Audient in Harmony Studios where he works. The reason it's cheaper than Neve or API is down to a few factors. It is not indivudally modular, it is built in blocks of 12 for the bigger consoles, and in this case it's not modular at all on the 16 channel. No big deal though, and that being said, Audient quality is great and customer service is amazing and in the UK (where they are built) and Europe they are HIGHLY regarded and well known. They are also used in many of the top audio education facilities. I will be buying one VERY soon, as they are simply great consoles, and the price is amazing. 10 - 12k in UK pounds for a 16 channel inline console with bells and whistles - easy decision over anything else in its price range. You made a wonderful choice my friend!

    • @BIGEGO
      @BIGEGO  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great observations! That's exactly why we bought it. Everyone said, "Get a Neve! Get an API or Trident! And those are great consoles but for us, this was the smartest, most utilitarian decision. Aside from a few issues with the meter bridge, we have been using the ASP4816 day in and day out for 4 years straight without a single day of downtime. Thank you for watching!

    Great vid! So... You can route any input (and multiples) to any fader? Also, I have a set of those dbx 160a as well. How are you using them and how do they measure up to your Destressors? 500 other questions, but that will do for now. 🙂

    • @BIGEGO
      @BIGEGO  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! There’s a routing matrix at the top of each channel strip. Want to send input of channel 1 to channel 16, go right ahead. Want to mult channel or combine? No problem. Comes in handy! Re: DBX 160’s, etc. I’ve owned a lot of compressors over the years and the 160’s are some of my favorites. I sold the 160A’s when I bought a pair of 160VU’s and I use them on every record. Kick drum. Bass. Acoustic guitars. Owned a lot of Empirical Labs stuff too! For some reason Distressors always felt like I had too many options when mixing. I love the FATSO and lots of other EL products but I find myself using an 1176 or 160 more often.

      @@BIGEGO I have a SC 600 (32ch with patchbay) and I'm curious what the main reasons were for your upgrade to this board? the Pre's or overall quality or something? Honest question! Thanks for the vids. Love the 4-track vid, too!

    • @BIGEGO
      @BIGEGO  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@schance1666 Hey! Thanks for the question! I loved the Soundcraft 6000 and did a ton of records on it. There are something I actually prefer about it (fader throw is heavier, for example) but the routing options and in-line architecture of the Audient 4816 are superior for the way I work. The EQ on the Audient is also quite a bit more flexible. Although I miss the 6000's look and feel I don't miss any practical workflow element. Hope that helps!

    • @HarvinderSingh-yy8th

      Audient is much superior than Soundcraft.

    Very nice! I was going to buy that console with the API 2500 compressor and the API 5500 equalizer. Would that be a great setup with the audient asp4816? Thanks

    • @BIGEGO
      @BIGEGO  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The console has an SSL-style bus compressor and EQ on every channel but I'm sure the API 2500 and 5500 couldn't hurt in any way. You could use them on busses or the stereo mix. The console has a mix in/out for just that sort of implementation.

    • @brockjohnson5315
      @brockjohnson5315 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Okay great thanks again! I thought just in case I wanted to add some color to the console, I play mainly hard rock and classic metal music. Thanks again!

    • @BIGEGO
      @BIGEGO  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@roycox4415 We've used a two different converters alongside the ASP4816: Antelope Orion 32 (first) and the Apollo X16 (currently). They both worked great. The reason for the change was mostly because the Orion was stuck at USB (which was having noise issues) while the Apollo X16 is using Thunderbolt 3.

    How is the noise floor on this console?

    • @BIGEGO
      @BIGEGO  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The noise floor on the console is almost non-existent. Very clean with plenty of headroom. There’s a mix insert so you can dirty it up with compression or transformers if you’d like.

    Have you ever felt limited by the console? If so in what way?

    • @BIGEGO
      @BIGEGO  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all! Sometimes you work on projects that have 20 or 30 tracks and you just make it work within a DAW by using busses or grouping things together.
