JK is the main vocalist of BTS. We call him The Golden Magnae (youngest) cuz he's talented in anything he does. His new album is called Golden. If you love classic Hip Hop, Rap, Rock, R&B and Pop you're in the right place. BTS is gonna give you all that! Borahae💜

When this song was released Jungkook’s company released a statement that it was a subtle tribute to MJ. BTS has done tributes to MJ on several performances. BTS has always acknowledged the people or things that has inspired their music and performances. BTS as a whole are inspired by artists from the 90’s and 2000. K-pop is just Korean popular music, a mixture of pop, hip hop r&b, EDM, etc. This applies to C-Pop (China), P-Pop (Philippines), J-Pop (Japan) and so on. Added to the above mentioned comment are the importance of the visual and dance aspects. BTS has set a standard that is hard for most act to come close to in the world with a few exceptions that already exist in the western world. They are not a group of guys who can rap, sing, and dance with perfection but also write, compose, produce their songs but also for others. Most of all, they are grounded, funny as hell, and humble people.

The label tweeted that there would be a surprise. JK was in NYC promoting his first solo album, Golden. ARMY noticed the screen on the TSX stage was being cleaned and predicted the surprise was going to be Jungkook performing there. And they were correct. Thanks for your reaction! 🙏 It was fun! Jungkook (or JK) is the main vocalist of the South Korean group BTS. He is very versatile and known to be a great live singer even while dancing.
7 points for dance?? Interesting 😄 As a dancer myself, I can definitely say it's more than a 7 and a lot of great choreographers and dancers agree with me 😉 It's quite a tough choreography and has been viral as a dance trend and also in dancer circles on Instagram reels and Tiktok. Also, we have to remember that JK always practices dancing while singing. He is also a singer and not just a dancer, so the focus of his movements is different. You can often recognize a very good dancer by their hands, because only the very best dancers pay attention to their posture right down to the tips of their feet and fingers. His dance style is rather powerful and sharp, but he nevertheless has a lot of good fluid movements, which many people find difficult to make such precise and sharp movements without losing the fluidity.
I recommend to watch his performance of this song on iheart radio to hear him sing with a live band or on Jimmy Fallon for the dancing and singing.

    Some interesting facts for you:
This song is an homage to MJ. In the Thiller 40 documentary, they recognized BTS for keeping MJ's dancing legacy alive.
Jungkook and BTS debuted in 2013, so he is not new to the industry.
Usher heard this song and thought it sounded like MJ, so he got on the remix.
It is Disco funk, he says it in the song 😂 70's inspired. Gives me Heartbreak Hotel by the Jackson 5 vibes. But I am probably older than you. Lol
The backup dancers are all incredibly famous dancers/choreographers. Brian Puspos(did the choreo for Drake's Own It and a lot of early BTS dances) and Ian Eastwood have been famous for dancing for years.
The choreography is by Keone Madrid and Shay Latukolan. Keone is HUGE in the industry.
And lastly even though Jungkook is Kpop, this song isn't really. It is all in English and has American writers and producers. (Jungkook, is not fluent in English, yet😂)
Check out the Usher remix. And ON Kinetic Manifesto Film Come Prima by BTS. We will be more than happy to prove he is a 10 at dancing. Hee hee hee

LOL. Enjoyed your reaction and vibe. Well most of those genres of music you named, can all be found in BTS's discography. They've been around 11 years and almost no two songs the same. They are so versatile and so good. Jungkook is the most pop of the group and such a beautiful voice. He didn't write songs on this album but has written many songs in the past. I am from a punk background and never in a million years thought I would listen to anything that was dubbed as KPOP Boy band. But that just turned out to be an unfortunate label that mainstream music puts on them. It is not at all a reflection of who they are. They have been part of the creative process since before debut (back in 2013) and they write with depth to lyrics and flow changes that are smooth as heck. Please check out Born Singer. They wrote this back in 2013 shortly after debut. Gives you an idea of their mindset and just one of the many ways they mix vocals with rap. It was actually written on the beat of JCole's Born Sinner. th-cam.com/video/Z5WLRWMYzEU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Vc3XzvvihameXRfg This video juxtaposes their early performance with one they did about 5 years later. In 2022 JCole met JHOPE (another BTS member and rapper), who was headlining at Lollapalloza in Chicago. Shortly after, he gave them permission to include the song on their anthology album called "Proof." Not gonna lie, they got some good stuff. They got a few cheesy pop things too (mostly the ones in English that the world loves) but stuff you are going to be surprised about when you hear it. So definitely try to add the occasional BTS song into the mix. You'll be glad you did! Be sure to turn on Eng Subs or Closed Captions because most of their music is in Korean, but pay attention to lyrics because they usually have levels of meaning. When someone recommends a song, you need to google the name of the song then "Eng Sub" after it so that you get one you can watch with lyrics. Hope you enjoy your journey with all the music you listen to, and truly hope you add BTS and all their solo work into your journey.

@@OLDMANHUDA Jungkook isn't proficient in English so he doesn't write songs in English yet. He had a vision for the album, a short window of time to record it, so solicited songs which told the story he wanted to share. There was a controversy because he has no songwriters credit on the album. BTS fans are proud that BTS members write most of their songs. I don't concern myself with who wrote a song, but with how well it's performed outside the studio, raw vocals rule. Many people write brilliant songs, but don't ask them to sing. If you know, you know.

If you choose to continue on your journey into k Pop, I would like to let you know this. K Pop has been around the way it has been since the 1990s. You see in the 90s a man by the name of Lee Soo Min,(in Korea the last name is more important than the given name, so it goes first.) So Lee Soo Min had heard some American music and he fell for it. And he believed the younger generation would love it too. So he contacted a lot of American producers. Asking if they would go to Korea and teach how American hip hop was made. One producer agreed. A name you have heard of. That producer was Teddy Riley of Blackstreet. If I correct, Teddy went to Korea for several years and work with Lee Soo Min's company called SM and taught many of their producers. The Korean companies also started using American, English, Swedish, and many other countries writers and producers since then to make k pop. The reason it's called k pop is the fact that it's in Korean most of the time. But most groups do try their hands and an English, Japanese, and sometimes Chinese lryics and songs. It has evolved over the years. There are both male and female groups. The two groups that are known the most internationally are BTS (male) and Blackpink (female). But there is many groups. And a lot of different types of music. Rappers are very normal in groups...and dance is also part of the esthetic of k pop. Please enjoy the journey. I think you may be pleasantly surprised by what you find. There is a reason why k pop is so popular internationally. And growing everyday.

@OLDMANHUDA believe it or not, I got into k pop because of my daughter, who has been listening to it since 2010-11. And even though I've heard her music, I got really into listening to around 2015-16. I am a 51 y.o. from America. But you will find a lot of older fans like you and I. I believe it is due to the sound. Very reminiscent of what we listened to....and the new music just pulls u in.

@@OLDMANHUDA K-pop is the Korean remake of the Motown model. They borrowed Barry G's playbook of talent development, hired previously successful Western producers, and often use songwriters from the West. It sounds and looks familiar, because it is. Jungkook is the second artist to crack the code, Rain was the first. But Jungkook will be the greatest, once he gets more Western exposure.

Jungkook (JK) is a member of the K-pop group BTS and most of the comments here are correct, but there's more. To begin, Jungkook is classified as a Pop artist since his solo album, Golden, is entirely in English and his debut in the West was FIRE! Jungkook (JK) intends to move freely between K-pop and Pop. You may already know his voice. He featured on Charlie Puth's Left & Right, Kid Laroi's TOO MUCH and performed Dreamers at the World Cup opening ceremony. But he hit the lottery with Seven (ft. Latto). JK chose Western producers and songs for his solo project. Andrew Watt, Cirkut, Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran, Jack Harlow are a few who helped with the album. JK challenged himself, stepping outside K-pop to seek success in the West. He succeeded big time. Then he threw the world for a loop by enlisting in the Korean military, 4 years early.
He was confident that the album was good, and his various groups of fans would continue to support it. The album is great, and fans do support it, but there is controversy. As usually happens with the break-out member of a popular group, some fans are cool, others are conflicted, and some act ugly. You'll encounter them all if you delve further into Jungkook's or BTS discography.
So I have two suggestions. First, focus on one BTS member’s solo project at a time. This will reduce friction between the fans who bias that member, and those who prefer a different member.
Second, here are the Jungkook MV’s and performances I’d suggest. MV's: Hate You (visualizer), Standing Next To You (Usher remix) & Choreography video, 3D (ft. Harlow), Seven (ft. Latto) & Performance video.
Live Performances: iHeartradio Live, TSX-Times Square, Audacy Live, BBC Radio 1 Lounge, Dreamers FIFA opening ceremony (2022), Euphoria (Wembley Stadium).
Music: Golden-album, Stay Alive, Still With You, Euphoria, My Time, Begin, Left & Right, TOO MUCH, Dreamers, & the Usher remix of Standing Next To You. His cover of Falling (Harry Styles) is A+. Enjoy.

The BTS members write and produce most of their own music. JK is an incredible songwriter, but he didn’t write this song. He was in a time crunch wanting to release an album before going into the military, so he chose songs from foreign producers. This is one of them.
A good song that he did write is Still With You. There is no MV, but there are a bunch of lyric videos if you search. He wrote the song to his fans during the height of lockdown, after all of their 2020 performances and tour were cancelled.

71 year old BTS Army here. Jungkook or JK for short is the main vocalist for the Global phenomenon BTS. His label announced this as a subtle homage to MJ. This was his third Official solo release leading up to his album. None of JK's solo releases are Kpop. They are all American productions and should not be considered Kpop for that reason. Even his dancers are famous American dancer/choreographers. This song was written and produced by Grammy Award winning Producer of the Year Andrew Watt and a team of notable American/Canadian songwriters Cirkut, Jon Bellion and Ali Tamposi. It was produced by the Canadian producer/songwriter known as Cirkut. It was recorded at Watt's L.A. Studio and the video was filmed at an abandoned building in Budapest, Hungary.
Andrew Watt has produced albums for Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, the Rolling Stones new album and other notables. The Canadian producer Cirkut also has impressive credits such as producing for "The Weeknd" and others. Watt and Cirkut plus others from their team of songwriters were also involved with his first official solo release "Seven" Feat. Latto and also his album "Golden". Seven broke streaming records right out of the gate and was followed by another hit "3D" Feat. Jack Harlow.
    Thanks for you reaction! 💜

I see what you are saying.. But JT was inspired by the gloved one himself... so basically the same.. I was just comparing him to someone more recent. but i love all three of em

Also just so you know the backup dancers especially the one to his on the side that you're on Brian are considered to be the best choreographers and dancers in the world. Most of BTS songs are written by them but these were a break into the American solo market for our bro jungkook so it wasn't written by him

Thanks for the insider info, much appreciated! So, should I start looking for backup dancers to improve my dance moves? Looks like the real MVPs are the backup dancers!

@@OLDMANHUDA No....I think you just reacted to Jk's dance prematurely. He is a fabulous dancer, as are the others in the video. I think you need to see the whole performance to really appreciate the choreography, and esp Jk's ability to sing so well as he dances

K-pop is an industry not a genre or style of music. The music from the K-pop industry covers most genres of music from rap and hip hop to ballad to R&B to EDM to pop, etc.

Oh am I ever excited for you, lol.
If you like rock vibes, if you like rap, if you like swag, and if you like dance....
Check out JK with his whole group and this dance practice: th-cam.com/video/aqW4xXUgmno/w-d-xo.html Trust me, it's nothing like Boy with Luv.
It was in preparation for their last concert performance before they all had to enlist in the military (which they are all doing now).
It is in Korean (mostly) and there are no subtitles, but it's about their come up from broke nobodies, openly mocked for starting at the bottom, to global kings.

I think you were definitely a bit too quick to judge Jk's skills regarding his vocals and dance. You should really watch the dance performance before making that judgement lol, as well as listen to more of his vocals. Something else you many not know about Jk, he was selected to perform at the World Cup last year, and there is a video of the performance you can watch as well

There's no K lol it's just an English song R&B and pop, the only K thing is Jungkook XD If you want a pure korean song to listen to I recommend BTS Black Swan

You definitely need to watch NCT's MV KICK IT. All about Bruce Lee and martial arts. NCT is fire. Also NCT 127 and all the NCT subunits.

This is straight pop music not K-pop. You should watch the song “Hate You” Official Visualizer video to see another side of JK. He also has an audio version of his song 3D out with Justin Timberlake as well as a video version of Standing Next To You with Usher. I don’t think Usher would be dancing with him if he’s only a 7 out of ten! You may want to rethink that. Have fun and enjoy our boys.💜

I just made my first dislike for this video. why did you chop off the beginning of the music video? it doesn't start with the limousines it starts with the big hit music intro sequence. All you had to do was press play and the music video would start from the beginning of big hit intro sequence!

Thank you for letting me know about the issue with the music video's intro. Your feedback helps me improve for future content. Dislikes are like spicy comments - they add flavor to the video! I'll make sure to hit play next time and avoid any editing mishaps.

It's hard to believe you love music when most of what you listen to is country rap, the only genre that sucks worse than country western. A real hip hop head would not stoop i.e. KRS1 would be disappointed.
