    Hey there! I signed up to your Patreon. Thanks for doing all this! I've been trying to transfer the Presets to my Mercury X using SysEx. No luck so far. What is the exact process you use? I have a midi usb interface. I click play but nothing shows up on the Mercury X.... Thanks for your help!

      Hey there! Firstly thanks so much for joining us on Patreon! We greatly appreciate it and hope you find it valuable for years to come!
      My first guess is that you have the 5-pin midi plugs in the wrong place. I say this because it’s the most common thing I’ve noticed and it’s for sure the mistake I made! lol
      So try putting your midi OUT cable in the midi IN on the MercuryX. Midi IN into the midi OUT as well.
      Once this is connected and the usb is recognized by your Sysex Librarian, select the usb to midi interface to “play” the preset file. Select the file and hit “play”. You should see the preset on the MercuryX. Then just hold down the selector button above the preset or the scroll knob to save the preset there.
      I will say that Meris is working to finish the prEDITOR software for the MercuryX that they have for the LVX. Once that’s ready it will make loading and moving presets so much easier!
      Cheers

      @@thepedalcollaborative thank you so much for your speedy reply! Now it's working! The labels were wrong on the interface! Out is actually In and vice versa! Thanks again! Great day to you!

      @THOMANDTHEWOLVES 🙌 so glad it worked! Enjoy those presets…many more to come of course 😎

    Wow.. Amazing man. So so so close. Love it. Meris has really done something special with this series.. The only thing I'd want to change is have an easier way to share presets with other people.
    Another great vid man. 🤘🏼

      Hey thanks!
      The fact that Meris lets you take their algorithms and make them your own is amazing. It’s not just adjusting levels. It’s designing new sounds!
      As for sharing presets, they’re about to release prEDITOR, which will make it easier to make presets but also store and share them!
      They’re releasing it for LVX first but the MercuryX will follow!

      @@thepedalcollaborative Oh shit, really? I didn't know anything about the preditor thing (predator?) Well, can't wait. I would love to see an easier way to apply some of the things other ppl have come up with.
      It is really amazing tho. When I got the LVX I literally made a delay I had never heard before in like no time.

      @13aphomet I love my LVX! Yeah I’m very stoked to see what the prEDITOR can do! I’m fairly lazy so doing the whole SysEx thing to Patchstorage is just one too many steps. 😆

    • @13aphomet
      @13aphomet 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@thepedalcollaborative yea, I actually bought the midi cable to do the patchstorage thing, but never did it. It kinda seems like a pain for sure..

      @13aphomet I don’t think it’s too complicated. I’m just lazy

    I want to know if the MX can get the ensemble sound!

    • @thepedalcollaborative
      @thepedalcollaborative  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To my ears that would be a difficult one to pull off. The Ensemble mode to me has a string ensemble sound to it and the closest thing to it in the MX would be the Choir Module which has a more human vowel sound to it. It’s possible to get in that territory but you’d have to get the MX module to have a more metallic feel to it. I wasn’t able to get close…but then again I’m not currently a fan of the strymon Ensemble mode in the ways in which I play, so I didn’t give it the ol’ college try

    These are so close! I would say the Strymon seems to allow more of the guitar itself to come through. Not like a mix thing, just a general tonality. Interesting.

    • @thepedalcollaborative
      @thepedalcollaborative  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Like more of the dry signal being affected by the effect. Totally get that. Could be the routing of the modules in the MX making it more subtle. I can mess around with it!

    • @michaelgriffin5304
      @michaelgriffin5304 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@thepedalcollaborative From what I can tell, it seems to just be a Strymon thing, as I hear it like that with every one just about. Maybe the analog dry-through? I would lean more on your expertise though, as the MX looks like an absolute machine. It reminds me of the Nightsky in a way, in that it is able to transcend reverb and lean toward total new sounds for ambience.

    • @thepedalcollaborative
      @thepedalcollaborative  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @michaelgriffin5304 I’m in no way an expert! But you’re right about the Mercury X being similar to the Nightsky in its ability to make brand new things!

      As long as you don’t need dual reverbs at the same time I think it’s a great move! The MercX can handle so much more!

    I saw a video where someone got their rv500 to sound like a cloud.
    I currently own the rv500 and have set mine up the same
    I'm on this video now because I want to upgrade to the mercury x without sacrificing the cloud tone
    I'm curious if you own the rv500, and have tried to make a cloud on it, and could compare it the mercury x

      I didn’t really jive with the UI on those bigger Boss units unfortunately, but from what I remember from them I’d still choose the Mercury X any day. The one question is can the RV509 do two different reverbs at the same time? Like in series or parallel? The MercuryX doesn’t do that

    Strymon needs to start cooking up a timeline, bigsky, and mobius v2.

      On the one hand I’m sure they already have something in the works! On the other though I could see them focusing on making more little single switch boxes like the Cloudburst/Brig/Ultraviolet. My guess is they make more $$$ with those
