    the context of the video , is that special forces out flanked the russians and came behind them on the trench system , they where running from the ukranian forces coming from the front , they never expected special forces to be behind them

    People don’t seem to grasp that it literally makes zero difference if you’re caught unarmed in your own defense network. Unless you throw your hands up and immediately surrender, enemy combatants do not have to take you prisoner.
    You’re in a defensive network with weapons all around you; The first guy had a shelf in the entrance to his dugout with hand grenades in it. There’s a reason actual professional militaries stress to their Soldiers to keep their weapon on them at all times. Because you never know when you’ll need it or when- Like this, your position can be raided.
    This is not a war crime at all. And those crying war crime have zero grasping of how war actually is and seem to source most of their unending knowledge from video games or romanticized movies.

      Tankies always call everything a war crime, it's what they do. They know exactly what they're doing, they're not ignorant. Ukrainians fighting back against genocidal Russian invaders is a war crime in their eyes.

      Its hilarious as well because before the war russians were screaming "we don't abide by international law so any war crimes are pointless" which in one regard is actually true, on the other hand it makes it even more hilarious when russians scream "OH MY GOD UKRAINIAN WAR CRIME" so its funny russians wanting ukraine to abide by international law but not russia hahaha

    They moved to and enter into the trenches as quietly as possible, so the enemy was caught by surprise, some of enemy soldiers in the video were moving towards their combat positions, thinking that the attack was coming from the field.
    6:16 it was a detonation of gunpowder from an RPG, before that the enemy threw a grenade at them

    2:31 this is close to the kind of CQB being taught in Sweden in the early 1990's (at least in some elite units), it was known as the Israeli-method then. Then as time went on, kind of hostage-rescue inspired CQB become more popular and some people started to think about that style of CQB as being "outdated", and nerds from the tacticool community even found it "sloppy" (even though there is nothing sloppy about it if done corretly, it is just ruthlessly violent). But I have seen it used SO MUCH in Ukraine, and I have even seen a Navy SEAL volunteer use it in the fight against IS, and an Australian SASR operator use it in Afghanistan.

    • @Roderik95
      @Roderik95 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      This is how I was taught CQB in the Swedish homeguard 2017... We would frag, then shot our way in to the rooms with our AK4s. No disrespect to the homeguard but I would not call us elite units lol. We can AND will put some Russians in the ground if they want the smoke though.

    • @Osvath97
      @Osvath97 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Roderik95 Neither is 2017 the early 1990s though, tactics tend to disperse downwards with time. Funnily enough I know someone who was in a Home Guard quick-response unit around 2015 too, and he was told that that style is just not how they do things, at least not anymore. Instead he was taught "high-speed" hostage-rescue style CQB that most of them lacked the skill to do as intended, and being taught ergonomics that made NO SENSE for the Ak 4, and doing stuff that would result in friendly-fire incidents from overpenetration if it was live-fire due to the 7.62. He felt like they were almost LARPing a SMU. I am glad that apparently not all Home Guard units are like that.

    • @Roderik95
      @Roderik95 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Osvath97 Yeah, it does disperse down with time. Good point.
      The high-speed stuff is better left with SOF and counter-terrorist units that have time to practice that stuff over and over and over again with more specific weapon systems.
      We were taught rather crude tactics I guess you could say. Shooting through walls with GPMGs. C4 the walls, fragging everything basically.

    • @Osvath97
      @Osvath97 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Roderik95 (Apparently my comment was removed since it contained a link lol, so I have to repost).
      Nothing is crude that works. SOF units are clinical when the situation demands it, such as hostage-rescue (all though in counter-insurgencies all are forced to be clinical sometimes). But they are not clinical for the sake of it. When the situation allows for it, SOF units will "swine" just as much in the attack (to use a Swedish expression) as any other unit, in fact much more so, since it is just more effective in many situations. As I think this very video of SOF shows.

With the standard assault would definitely be casualties, so they decided to use a small team and get into the trenches unnoticed, it took them many hours, moving slowly sometimes crawling in the open field. When they finally got in and opened up on them, the Russians were running around trying to take the defensive positions thinking the assault had begun, not knowing that they already had visitors inside the trenches.

    When this is all over, Ukraine is going to be a very different country for the better, i hate to say that but WAR changes the dynamics of a country and its purpose and i think we will see a rise of a new member of the EU, becoming a better nation for this WAR. I really hate to put it that way, but i suspect Ukraine will flourish once it is over! So much will have to be done in rebuilding, new industry, new investments... and more!

      This war has United Ukraine. Ukraine has always been a technology hub and in the past they built masses of weapons for Russia and then when they got to build their own weapons they built them even better. Weapons like the vilkha-M, Neptune missile and the btr-4. So many small company's have built brilliant equipment for the UA army. For example every month they hold a drone convention where hundreds of companies show their products and test them. The UA army also has a initiative called brave1 which is hundreds of companies that have contracts with the government to help build breaking edge equipment for the army. Turkish company baykar and german rhienmetall are going to open production lines in Ukraine. Also Ukraine has produced more ammo in July than it did in 2022 and many of their vehicles have now reached production. I think we might see Poland and Ukraine become real brother countries United in the face of evil and they will become the real powerhouses of EU and will rise up to defend any country that comes under threat from Russia's horrific ragime.

    TVP World (Polish PBS) opened a segment with uncensored footage from this trench system the other day. Brutal. 10 seconds in, Russian gets blasted in the face. As former LEO the whole room clearing system of blind firing and blind nades always feel weird to watch but it makes absolute sense. You'd be a fool to get yourself killed on the tiny chance there's something around the corner you don't want to hit.

    • @kuidaorekitchen5850

      If there is anyone around you that is not a friendly, they are trying to kill you, so, for the most part, you are able to fire first while clearing. Obviously you can't do that in a civilian zone, as you well know. Just pointing it out for other readers.

    Blurring videos like this help de sensitise people to war. Show them the really grittiness of it and shock them into realising that these are people. When you actually can see the fear in their eyes before they get killed, that should not be hidden. People need to see it to realise how bad it is.

    The thing that stands out in many of the videos coming out is that the Russian troops really lack a lot of battlefield skills, which fits in with the poorly-trained conscript narrative that we keep hearing. They make rookie mistakes and, against well-trained Ukrainians, that's pretty fatal.
