They play some of the songs reaaal fast on this and I like it alot. I think they probably did studio cuts for Fun, Fun, Fun and I Get Around on Beach Boys Concert cause they sound like punk rock songs on the actual live tape.
No it was a Brian thing. He didn't like the performances. He was so hell bent on making it sound good he butchered the Final 3-Track for the studio version of I Get Around in the process. That's why we don't have a true Stereo Version of the album version besides DES versions. On the "Concert" version of I Get Around You can hear the Bounced Backing Track, 1st set of vocals and Audience on Track 3. Well that 3rd Track was the 2nd set of Vocals as well as some added instruments which are now wiped and recorded over. Thank god he just made a tape copy for Fun,Fun,Fun to use though.
The intro to "Wendy" was also flubbed in their appearance on Ed Sullivan: th-cam.com/video/naA0JnZndw4/w-d-xo.html Bitchin' was a fashionable word with young people in those days, at least in southern California.
Thanks for sharing the Ed Sullivan clip! And thanks for context on the word "Bitchin'"- I recognized it from the movie "Top Secret" but I guess I live too far east for it to be a regular part of my vocabulary!
I have a UK cd pressing of the Live London 69. It sounds as if they're in the room. With bonus tracks.
Very cool! That's a great album!

I love the wild sounds on the original recordings. Very unique to this show/release as well!
I never thought of the availability of different mixes of this album. Good point!
