I feel this so much!!! I was given tickets to Beyoncé at Coachella and didn’t end up going because of my overwhelming anxiety. I am still so upset, disappointed, and regret that I didn’t go. But it has always helped to hear Kathleen talk about mental health...I never want to want my anxiety to win again!

I don’t know many people in my life that struggle with mental health like I do. Maybe that’s why. As petty as it may be, I feel a little less alone.
I actually have the same issue with communication where I'll text the person I need to express feelings to instead of speaking. Even as a child before cell phones I'd leave notes for my parents explaining why I was sad and/or angry instead of just telling them they upset me. I think part of it is fear of the reaction I'll get, fear of having my feelings be invalidated or misunderstood.
It's actually a good strategy because you get to express everything you meant to. So many times I'll start editing myself, or getting self conscious when the other person is reacting to what I'm saying.

oh my gosh i thought i was the only one about communicating! whenever i try to confront someone when i’m mad, i end up crying and it’s so frustrating!!
I struggle a lot with this, too, and it is frustrating! I'll end up shutting down or isolating myself when I find it difficult to express myself because I don't want to end up crying and get a reaction that I don't need from the other person.
Same, a lot of times I take a day or so and I do end up texting the person, just because it's easier to get my thoughts organized and what exactly I'm feeling out

I just wanted to say that as much as you appreciate Selena being open about mental health, I adore that about you. It really hit me in the heart when you talked about the revival concert, because I've been there, feeling the heartbreak of being defeated by my self. And you're right, the very memory of those feelings is was has helped me say yes more and more, I've learned to listen to myself when it's reasonable boundaries I don't want to cross, and to talk back when it's unreasonable anxiety.
So I seriously cried during the first part of this video. I remember when you didn’t go to that concert and it was heartbreaking. But to see you get to meet her is just incredible. You’ve grown so much.

This really hit home with me..I’ve struggled with panic attacks since I was 13.. I had the same thing happen to me with a Janet Jackson concerns. I was absolutely devastated. I have always adored Selena and I love her brand and what it is about. Loved seeing you 2 chat on zoom. You’ll never know how much you’ve helped me with my bad days Kathleen esp by being open and talking about it. ❤️❤️

I just wanted to say that as much as you appreciate Selena being open about mental health, I adore that about you. It really hit me in the heart when you talked about the revival concert, because I've been there, feeling the heartbreak of being defeated by my self. And you're right, the very memory of those feelings is was has helped me say yes more and more, I've learned to listen to myself when it's reasonable boundaries I don't want to cross, and to talk back when it's unreasonable anxiety.
