The Ertiga GL is the same beast as this so dont be too rough on it. The only things the Ertiga has over this is the price and the fully kitted out head unit. However in the Stargazer you get a better transmission, more powerful engine, steering wheel controls and marginally more cargo space. The safety gear is also the same for both cars(even though i think the Ertiga gets parking sensors, but i could be wrong). If you look at it powertrain wise youre getting more for your money with the Stargazer vs the Ertiga.

CVT Indonesia YT Channel made a comparo of the new models of the Xpander, Stargazer, Ertiga and Avanza. The Ertiga actually scored very high on both their luggage test and cabin space despite having the smallest dimensions on paper. The new facelifted Ertiga has not been officially launched yet in the Philippines but the PIMS preview model will make it very competitive even against the polarizing looking Stargazer and not everyone likes CVT transmissions or any of its variants like the IVT. Value for money also plays a big role in choosing which to buy. Not everyone goes for all the bells and whistles and the highest HP and torque esp. in the MPV segment.

Yah, for some the car stereo is not so important. Some also likes the basic model for they are not very clingy towards such features. As long as it drives and functions well they don't have a problem at all. It is based on personal preference if I may say.

Quite correct. The use of the retro-looking entertainment system is quite a downer. Even worst than Toyota 86 which comes with an Innova 2-Din system. HMPI is using a HARI formula to price their cars affordably using a bare-bones product. I read somewhere too that GL does not have a 3rd-row seat. I don't hear this from the video. What's a family car w/o 7-seater capability?
this could be a good deal if the price is less than a million prolly like about 950k tops and would probably slay the suzuki apv and other base varuant of its competitors
The Kaicene Honor S at only 500K plus has a reverse camera while this base variant at twice the asking price has none. Is that a belated April Fools thing Hyundai?

Hyundai does not really want to sell the base trim. It was meant to make people garvitate towards the higher trim out of disappointment

I agree with you sir reygan, they should have at least included a better infotainment system.
We got GL model and is very ok. It does make sense for some ☺️. Upgrading or getting premium is not for all.

Got to get into mid spec recently in a display in a mall. The third row back rest is quite erect. It was uncomfortable.
It is adjustable, it can be adjusted to incline.
