    In the above video, dr ankur is explaining what are SPV and PPV, and how to calculate and use them for accessing the fluid responsiveness in ICU.
    These can be easily calculated from arterial line graph.
    The ICU Channel is a project by Educational Society of Bedside Intensive Care Medicine (ESBICM) for providing forever free bedside intensive care education to doctors and nurses working in ICU & ED. Other than this channel, we provide the following streams of learning; have a look below, we would love to see you there.
    1. icu.in forums:
    If you have any doubt regarding any video or topic, you can post in comment section or discuss on icu.in forums @ icu.in/forums/index.php (icu.in forums are mainly used to give a detailed reply on simple or complex topics so that the doubt is thoroughly discussed and clarified)

      how much fluid should be given in fluid challenge?

    • @TheICUChannel
      @TheICUChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends … if LV ok , we have 500 ml and if LV poor , 100-200 bolus , … then depending on the fluid status plan fluids .
      The SPV and PPV are one the many parameters which indirectly help to access fluid status .

    One query
    In limitations, it's written TV more than 7-8 or less than 4ml/kg will not cause variation...but you have explained as false high and false low which is of course related to intrathoracic pressure variation...which is correct? Will we get a false variation or no variation?

    • @TheICUChannel
      @TheICUChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Low TV will not cause much swings because pressure variation is low ; very high TV will also not cause variation as BP will mostly low …, that’s the catch I read

    • @nishasekar3328
      @nishasekar3328 ปีที่แล้ว

      So no variation in extremes of tidal volume and no influence of TV in SPV and PPV in normal ranges of Tidal volume?

      that is different method. just see how it can be done..you need to monitor cardiac output in it.
