Hi Mike! Great story about delivering beer in Germany! That must have been a great experience spending time over there as a kid. I remember the TV channels shutting off around midnight here too back in the late 70s. Unfortunate way to learn about Munson passing away! What a sad day that was, I remember it well. The newspaper articles Are a lot of fun to read and look back on! The brawl you showed was against the Red Sox! Awesome bunch of 79 Topps cards! Thanks for showing Yaz! 😁
@@PickerJimS Yes, I had to show a Yaz card! What a summer of 79 it was n a lot has changed a lot since then. Yeah, I was shocked to hear about Munson myself!! Thanks again, and take care buddy.
Man that is so fantastic that you still have that letter. Such a cool trip down memory lane. Also some beautiful cards and enjoyed the clippings. Awesome stuff Mike
@@davidm686 Thanks, I really appreciate it. That was a fun summer. My aunt had a small room downstairs where the old timers would sit all day n drink beer. I had a choice of soda or beer any time I wanted! There was a bakery directly across the street from my aunt & would buy such delicious German pastries!! Anyway, take care buddy.
I always enjoy hearing people’s stories about memories and loved ones, really enjoyed this video! Beautiful cards as well, thank you for sharing and have a great weekend!
@@TCBsprtscards I really appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed. I will do a future episode on Reggies 500th! My father wrote me a letter while I was in college. Take care buddy.
I think thats awesome you were able to see Thurman Munson play. That is pretty cool to hear the letter Mike and nice seeing some Munson Caldwell and Jackson cards. Enjoyed.
@@vintagecardssteve8582 Thanks, I appreciate it Steve. Will do also sometime a letter I received from my father when Reggie hit his 500th while I was in college. Glad you liked the cards n have a great weekend from cold NJ. Not as cold as Nebraska!!!
Great stories Mike. Interesting to hear how things were in a time period in another country. 70’s cards are great and underrated. Someday I would like to do a Munson run.
@@tigers727 Thanks, I appreciate it! I use to go every summer to visit my grandparents in Germany. TV was soo different back then n I had to entertain myself but B4 my grandfather retired the kids knew me. Also, my grandparents didn't drive so I had ride a bike everywhere or my mother drove. Mainly my grandfather n I rode the bike. I brought my baseball cards with me! You can do the Munson run! What a player he was! Deserves the HOF! Take care buddy!!
