    I been looking thinking about this scooter and the SYM Jet 14 200i. The jet looks cooler. Still deciding.

      The standout feature on the Jet is the ABS front brake. The Fiddle just has combined brakes. Otherwise, under the skin they are very similar and have the same powertrain.

      @@thescooterlounge I got a chance to sit on a Fiddler 4. It didn’t have enough foot space and the handle bars hit my knees when turning. Still looking for a Jet 14 to try. Also a Genuine Scooter Hoodlum. I understand it is made in Taiwan possibly by SYM or Kymco.

      The Genuine Hooligan is made in Taiwan by PGO.

      Update Checked out a Hooligan 170i and test rode it and a SYM Fiddler 4 and a Buddy 170i. The Buddy didn’t quite fill right. The Hooligan 170i I liked a little bit mor than theSYM Fiddle 4 but I didn’t like the speedometer like the SYM Fiddle 4. For some reason the Fiddle 4 had more room than I originally thought and loved the digital speedometer and LED headlight that the others didn’t have. It was a demo with 623 miles and had its first service and broken in. So I bought it. 2022 full 2 year warranty and the owner of the shop already did the body turn signals conversion. Also being a demo he wave the shipping and set up fees. Brought it home on a motorcycle carrier he sold to me and installed for $100, for the 110 mile trip home.
      Been raining today so haven’t got out to ride it. Also only cost $100 to insure it for a year. Still have my Suzuki Burgman 400 that my wife says she will ride it.
      Oh checked out Vespa 150 Sprint and Priggo Liberty 150. Liked the scooters but not the dealership so much.

    So the gas tank is in the steering column or it's down low, weight is on the front wheel?

    Great video
    Except for the annoying background music. Yes I know it’s low level, but for people who have hearing problems it is extremely irritating.

    While SYM (and Lance scooters made by SYM) are good quality, the U.S. importer, Alliance Powersports, Inc., is an absolute nightmare. I have owned a SYM HD200 and a Lance Cali Classic 125. Loved them both, but the dealers come and go. There is no longer a SYM/Lance dealer in my state, making warranty repairs and getting parts a major problem. Alliance Powersports, Inc. does not even want to sell you parts, they want you to take the scooter to a dealer to have it worked on. It's sad that such a nice brand has such an awful importer.

    • @thescooterlounge
      @thescooterlounge  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a valid perspective, however for reason of quality control and product liability most reputable manufacturers only distribute parts through authorized dealers. It’s too bad the dealers in your area haven’t been able to stick around.

    I have been a fan of SYM products for years, but finding a dealer is next to impossible. When you go to dealer locater even if you see dealers, they are usually hundreds of miles away. I wish SYM would do more to promote the product. Most people associate SYM with cheap Chinese scooters, even though they are not. People are afraid to take on the product because they know they will probably not sell. Wouldn't it be nice to a SYM scooter commercial on TV.

      We tell people all the time, SYM is the biggest manufacturer you’ve never heard of. They’re still growing here in the US but they’ve got a great dealer development team. If you know a local shop that might be interested in the line we’d be happy to put them in touch with the right people.
