Glenwood Canyon is a great feat of civil engineering. An interstate built carefully with environmental considerations, well engineered.
My roommate used to drive on a Friday from Vegas to Denver and back to Vegas on the Sunday night, every other weekend for over a year to see his family. Thought he was insane but always wondered what the drive was like. Thanks for sharing.
RELEASES AGAIN?!?! THE HECK
thanks for posting. i've been thinking about what the drive was like from Denver to Vegas. Was trying to imagine the drive by looking at the route on Google Maps, then did a quick search and stumbled across your video. Thanks for posting.
Pat Perez I could not asked for it in any better. Thank You, and thanks for the great drive.
This is the best stretch of interstate in the whole country!!!
Thank you so much. I full-time in an RV and I cannot count the number of times you have helped me plan my routes as I travel the West.
Oh the horror-filled days when Barbie used to sit in the left lane. Thank God she changed.

Going around 500 mph going through Glenwood Canyon was amazing at that speed thanks for the video....
It appears Emily Chen slowly bought in to the narrative and optics of this new-age travelogue! Thanks for the ride, Barbie!
Oh my God, I just happen to run into this; and I love it; thanks for doing this.......
I have taken that route to and from Vegas from Denver several times. It's roughly 780 miles and a 13 hour trip. Best part is heading to Las Vegas and when on I-15 going south and approaching the city at night.
this was very informational for me i could not believe you recorded this thanks a bunch
I make that drive about once a year. I love the Glenwood Canyon area and San Rafael Swell area. Thanks for posting.
Amazing Driving
Thank you for this video. We are taking the family on a 3,500 mile road trip this summer in a caravan of 3 cars, and I was worried about crossing the Rockies. Watching this film from beginning to end has relieved my fear...although, after leaving the Eisenhower Tunnel it appears there is a very long grade that must be negotiated in low gear. I'm from Los Angeles and not much of a mountain driver.
Gloria Goold Ain't no thang. Just use common sense. Every couple of miles, in such areas, there's also a runaway truck ramp.

There is a few grades along the way.The Virgin River Gorge is another fairly steep grade. Also watch my Bakersfield CA to Los Angeles CA video I did a few months ago.It has that I-5 stretch on it.
hey Barbiepoledancer i was wondering if you could do a Elk Grove Ca to Fresno Ca??? Its okay if you can not do it. its always a chance to ask
one of my favorite gorges - I was waiting for it... halfway to Denver - thanks!

Feels like a Video Game
Very nice drive! Enjoyed every minute of it when I drove it.
Thanks for posting this! I haven't been home to Colorado in a while. I really enjoyed the stretch from Rifle back to that hotel on Quebec St (it's the stretch that I've driven many times)
vote up if you watched this for no reason!
thanks for sharing this video really appreciate it
Since Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Colorado utilize the U.S. Standard lining system, under normal speed conditions, not sped-up film, the center line turns solid at 152 miles per hour. If you watch the mile posts click by and watch the clock, this driver was, for most of the journey, oblivious to any posted speed limit signage. Here is another ticket for you sir.
I had the same car.. I miss my z28. Cool vid
Wow! You're going to put domestic airlines into bankruptcy. Your high speed road trip videos are incredible!
Beautiful!
Too bad the mountain drive isn't like that anymore. Way too much traffic these days, like rush hour every day. I remember driving from Pena Blvd to Thousand Oaks CA straight through with the exception to spend a 1/2 hour eating breakfast in Vegas. The trip took me 21hrs. The I-70 elevated section at the very end no longer exists. They stopped off on Quebec near the old airport. We started our honeymoon in that hotel.
I love the 5th music in this video
damnnn the roads in denver in 2012... i wish they were like that now
Nice Camaro Z28 , I had a 94 and sold it. I was a dumbass for doing that. Hope to get another one :-) . They are so much fun with the v8.
Very well done! I just had to subscribe!
hey barbiepoledancer, what text font did you use for this and all of your other old time lapses? I want to use this font for my time lapse videos as well!
lol there are no vehicles for miles on eastbound I70 after the junction of I70/I15. Great vid.
I love the first song
what camara do/did you use at the time of this recording? looks awesome and love the soundtrack!!
Thanks for the video. Which place are the gas stops?
It says 10 hours, but there is a one-hour time loss from Pacific to Mountain time zone (this is after Daylight saving time, so the time change is after crossing from AZ to UT), so it should be 5:30pm that you're arriving in Denver.
Time zone in video is Pacific Standard Time (UTC-8). Las Vegas on March 21 is not daylight at 6:20am.
What a road trip
How is the drive during December from CALIFORNIA to Denver. Snow.? Dangerous?
Love that left passing lane.
My favorite part is the Glenwood Canyon.
Clear by Sonny Campbell
And...... Here is your ticket sir for improper lane usage ! Never left the left lane - B.S.!
around 8:00 mins i rm taking that road at night Las vegas is lit
...........and past Denver, it's on thru the 400 miles of the purest flatlands on earth as one travels thru Eastern Colorado and Kansas, then it's on thru the Alphabet Loop of Kansas City, and then thru Saint Louis where one picks up I-55, then one travels thru endless cornfields before one fially ventures into the Windy City of Chicago!!!
Dad moved jobs from NY to Denver in 1976 and took us all by car (he thought it would be fun!). I remember at a gas station somewhere north of Kansas City the nice guy behind the counter asking where we were heading. Dad told him and the guy just chuckled and said, "Good luck. There's a whole lot of nothin' out there!" He was dead right about that!
Don't forget Omaha if you go i-80 north east to Columbus Ohio
Lol! The same route the Greyhound bus goes through and back. Eh!??
the trucks go so slow in the mountains that you have to ride the left lane Tomac
Can you do this in HD? This is a great trip to Colorado. Make it look better!
Hi thanks for this. My fiancee and I have just booked our honeymoon in the US and we are driving from Denver to Las Vegas and have given ourselves to do this drive. We are going in mid-march which I see is about the same time of year you took this video. Can you recommend anything to stop and see along the way, best routes to take if we have more time etc. Anything you can help us with would be much appreciated! Thanks, Ian
Rodney S Roy K Probably 65 to 75 on the interstates and varible through the city
dope ass video
wicked to see a logging truck at 35:00
24:15 i was wondering when you'd stop for gas. I was thinking, there is no way that they're going to make it to Green River without fueling up first
Good.
I always enjoy driving from Denver to Las Vegas; better than flying. However, my next trip is Saint George and Mesquite. Enough Las Vegas for a while.
Why are you mostly in the left lane? Is it that you can pass cars on the right?
I am considering this drive. I have a 1990 Nissan Pathfinder. It doesn't do well on steep grades. In California, it struggled on the Grapevine. If you're familiar with that stretch on I-5, is there anything that steep? It looks like Veil may pose the biggest problem. Thoughts? Thank you.
Remaining, most obstinantly, in the left lane like that is very arrogant and extremely rude and offensive to almost every other driver on that road. There is no doubt in my mind that this is the way in which this particular driver conducts themself no matter where they may be. What a total moron !
so um, how many miles does the 'ol camaro have on it now? it's got to be some kind of a record.
40:25 is the exit to Palisade, Co.
Well I did it in about 10 hours maybe 11 in the Wolfsburg edition.
ITS LIKE IM REALLY IN FALLOUT
1:23 Exit Craig Road, North Las Vegas Nevada
Like it

Whats the sing called the one that starts at 52:30?
7:30 up until 18:02 What is the song name?
What is the last song in this video? It sounds cool.
Aura Tribe-Dan Q
Do you mind if I ask how many miles on your car ?
Also, what are all the music in this video?
are there any rest stops along the way for gas, food and toilet ?
Yes, there are places for gas, food, and toilet along all Interstates--which is generally what the poster is driving along. You have to pull off the road at an exit, but it's right next to the Interstate, and then you get back on.
The only part of the route that has no services is Richfield,UT to green river about 136 miles of isolated forest, desert and the san rafael swell. So fill up in Richfield
Or fill up once you make it to green river and one more thing this is when your on i-70
it takes ,11 ours in real life Vegas to Denver your like a traveler
Reminiscing! I've done this route like 6 times but from L.A. to Denver, CO.
Great video, and thanks for posting, but I have to admit I can't watch it. Spoiled by high def cameras!
You should hook up a mic in your engine bay instead of playing music. It'll sound less annoying once sped up ;)
l liked it , grew up with it
what was your average speed?
No way I’d do it. I actually flew from Las Vegas McCarran to DIA. Its too long a drive. Realistically, it would take most people two days by car to make the trip. That’s why we have air travel for those long distances. DUH
Download video and then convert it to MP3 that you have only this track. I never try this one but maybe will work just try it.
u got a 50 gall0on tank on that jewel or what lol ?
Left lane is the passing lane. You spend an inordinate amount of time in the passing lane instead of moving over once you have finished passing. You should set a better example.
Tomac Woodsp there is no law against driving on the left lane. That's only for trucks over 6 wheels in Georgia
Tomac Woodsp that's a misunderstanding
its also not illegal to drive 35mph on the freeway
skeleguns 10,ooo,ooo stay in Georgia ya hick
Tomac Woodsp, she just wants to drive faster to Denver.
Filmed march 21st? That's my crush's birthday!
Sometimes, the camera blurs.
Fake!!! There are no cars that can go that fast! Get real! And the car would not stay on the road going that fast anyway dudes. Once I was trying to drive as fast as I could and I looked down at that deal that tells you how fast you are going and it said 105 and my car jumped off the road and rolled and it killed my girl friend and I hurt my brain real bad,and I also broke my foot and my girl freinds Mom and Dad got real pissed and said that I couldn't go out with her hot sister ever. Shit!
this is sped up 10x lmao
Ty for video but the left lane is for passing only. Not driving the whole way there. Smh
At an average speed of about 75mph, it seems like she's passing everyone.
16:10 Why on earth did tou get back in the left lane?
Gene Hackman yeah...so why drive in the left lane when there's nobody around to pass?
94XJ there is no law against it.
I drive in the left lane brah because people in the right lane have no brains and i like to go 80mph on the freeway
in some states it illegal to park in the left lane so you should try driving in the lane your supposed to drive in.
where is barbiepoledancer
The music isn't "great"...not everyone is on ecstasy
Talk about left lane abuse! Just another one of those that thinks the left lane isn't for passing only. Wow! Just sad!
You don't to advise us that it's Glenwood Canyon (or any location for that matter) a dozen times, it detracts from the views. And your music is totally left to be desired.
r/woooooooosh
you're driving on the wrong lane.
There are cars passing you on the slow lane because you're driving like you own the passing lane.
Also, the resolution is not very good.
Nice editing though
52:10
whats the speed limit?
In Utah it’s 80!!
General stupidity don't count as brain injury!
I think you read his/her comment wrong. Or maybe I'm the one reading it wrong.... lol
Oh vail pass... Getting overtaken by 18 wheelers going 85mph
Thumbnail at 42:19
uplitfed concrete roads on poles or supports in gorges long ways , expensive , strange place for it.
Loftur Hjalmarsson As opposed to?
uplifted highway is not strange in a city , but this is a way between cities so it is needed in a desert.
