IDK how people aren't realizing that Knut was cheating during the show! I'm not sure at which point he STARTED cheating, but i got suspicious of him after the exospshere answer. He had "Mesosofosen" and exosphere written down before he crossed out Mesosfosen which apparently is Mesosphere in Norwegian. If he's smart enough to know those two layers, he would know that the OUTER layer would OBVIOSULY be EXO not MESO. He apparently was confident in answering the question about Falklands war fought by UK. This dude didn't know how to calculate perimeter, he drew a triangle, and you expect me to believe he's actually the second smartest person in that group??? He couldn't solve (2X +1)/3 = 5; he used copy on it, But the next math question he's able to solve 5(2x+3) - 2(4x-1) = 18 while he is constantly looking off screen; same guy magically knows the slope equation and solves it for the 8th grade math question. He shows no work for 7th grade math, he didnt solve it on scratch paper. HOW TF IS NO ONE ELSE SUSPICIOUS? Thank god he didnt win, but that doesn't mean we should look over it. Fanfan was actually right on the last question. It would be 3x(x-4)/ (x+2)(x-2). You simplify this by factoring the quadratics, but cancel out similarities. Because there are none, she had the simplified answer!
I suppose production fucked up with the starting equation. Instead of (3x² - 12x) / (x² - 4) they should have done (3x² - 6x) / (x² - 4). That would have simplified all the way to 3x / (x+2)

I'm glad Fanfan addressed the last question being written wrong. I noticed that as well, it was an un-simplifiable equation, the numerator should've been 3x^2 - 6x.

Last Question: Has a mistake! Mizkif gave the incorrect answer of 3x/(x+2), when FanFan's answer of 3x(x - 4) / (x^2 - 4) is correct. Type the formula into Wolfram Alpha to see for yourself, but I'll prove it here:
Take: (3x^2 - 12x) / (x^2 - 4)
take 3x out of the top and factor the difference of squares on the bottom (x^2 - 4) = (x -2)(x + 2) to get:
3x(x - 4) / ((x - 2)*(x + 2))
And it does not simplify further.
The incorrect answer is likely a mistake when taking the 3x out of the top and writing a 2 instead of a 4. Then crossing (x-2) out from the top and bottom. If Mizkif wanted the answer to be that, then the -12x should have been -6x.

11:46 - Emi got robbed, UK and Scotland should've both be acceptable answers. I would argue UK is even the better answer, because the question implied to name a country in the sense of a nation. It's a bit confusing because the Brits call their states/territories also "country".
No... Scotland itself is a country. Its part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland. Scotland, Wales, England are all countries making up the UK along with Northern Ireland. So Scotland is the correct answer, Not the UK.

The reason I'm pointing this out... to my understanding apart from Knut they're all US citizens and might live with the misconception that Scotland is a country equal to Brazil or Germany, when in reality it's equal to England, Wales and NI. The geography knowledge in the USA seems to be atrocious to the point they're correcting something that wasn't wrong, leading to the deduction of a point of one of the contestants.

Which is that scotland is colloquial known as a country, or that the UK is internationally recognized as a country and scotland is part of the UK( and not recognized as a country). Both answers would have been fine in my opinion, but I wouldnt have accepted england, cause thats like saying the white house is in california, cause it is in the united states.

in order to simplify from x^2 - 4 you would need to take out (x+2) to get the (x-2) on the bottom. However you can't take (x+2) out of the numerator.
And there is no other way of simplifying it right??

Your question for digestion absorption is incorrect. The small intestine does the majority of absorption where as the stomach has a small amount of nutrient absorption.
I think the assumption in the question is that the process of digestion begins once the food enters the stomach, whereas strictly speaking it begins in the mouth. If you assume that, the question is fine.

(2 * 0.5 + 3) is (1+3) so the left side of that part is 5*4 = 20.
The right side of it is -8 so the right side doesn’t make any sense when it says =18?
I did it in reverse by trying to balance out the formula, and was looking at 5(2X+3)=26 which makes X 1.1?

For people saying UK is right, as a Brit it's obviously not the answer especially when Edinburgh is in the question. Scotland is a country in its own right of which Edinburgh is the capital city. No one would say Edinburgh Castle is a UK/British castle, it is a Scottish castle, go on its wiki page. Answering UK is like answering two dozen to the question 6 x 4 on an exam

To be fair, that specification is more important to Brits themselves than to, say, continental Europeans. We're more used to talking about the UK as a whole as a country, unless it's about particular cultural things. I'm Scottish and I'd say its quite harsh even though technically wrong. Sometimes the UK is considered a country but inside the UK we would always say Scotland is a country of its own.
