  • For a few years, the Brewers racked up both losses and high-end prospects, seemingly in conjunction. They've had terrific success over the past 5 years, so they must have succeeded, right? Well, they failed, but they did so successfully. Watch to find out how.

    The fact they traded Hader and didn’t get a bat but rather build our pitching prospects tells all. The Brewers don’t go all in. For the first time in a very long time we have great pitchers, instead of building around them knowing we can’t afford them on the next contract we decide to plan ahead to replace them. It’s embarrassing.

      yes and no. the baseball postseason is 100% a crapshoot, so the brewers decided that since they cant spend a lot, they want to be good a lot and get a chance at the crapshoot instead of going all in at the best odds in one crapshoot. if we could spend more we would 100% go all in more.

    I used to love tracing the domino effect of our trades. Zack Greinke becoming 1/4 of the Yelich deal, JJ Hardy becoming Josh Hader, Adrian Houser, and 1/2 of Mike Moustakas, etc.

      And yet the best teams are the ones who do both. I’m an Astros fan, and the reason we won the World Series (the 2022 one, mind you) was because we built around both. We had dominant starting pitching and an even better bullpen coupled with an equal amount of power hitters and small ball contact hitters. This is the Brewers’ main problem: they have been pitching-oriented for so long and the bats can’t catch up.

      @Cavan McCabe I've been commenting about this for the last 3-4 years ➕. When we made the ultimate decisions to trade Jesus Aguilar, allow good players to leave via Free Agency, and trading away other great players and getting little back. Now yes in some cases the deals had some relevance and success. But, BUT signing Jackie Bradley Jr. for $10 million dollars? What did we pay him, $100,000.00 per hit? 😳 Sorry. Some of the decisions made have been really difficult to understand. Signing a has been for $10 million, while letting go a 30-40 HR guy go? This team's batting average has been what, .200-.230? That is PATHETIC! I can remember when a players, ONE PLAYER HITTING .225 was BAD! Now it's acceptable? Also I am SO FED UP WITH THE EXCUSES! EVERY YEAR THERE'S AN EXCUSE. Last years was, no had to be the more ridiculous. There set-up reliever decided to go 10 rounds with a 🚪🚪door🚪🚪 and he broke his hand. Now there is a perfect example of Brewers⚾️🧢🧢⚾️Baseball.......idiotic! And then there's the old standard! Boo hoo we are a small market team, boo hoo, poor us! 😟🙁☹😮😯😲😳🥺😦😧😨😰😥😢😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Whaaah! Now it's a joke, it's laughable!🤭🤣😅😂🤣😅😂😆😂😅🤣😆 and yes sad, actually more pathetic than sad. The Milwaukee Brewers, if they had as many wins as they do excuses, they'd be NL Champions 🏆 5 years running. The Milwaukee Bucks was also referred to as a small market club. But the owners decided to make money you have to sometimes SPEND MONEY! They did just that, and wouldn't you know, THEY WON A CHAMPIONSHIP! WOW! IMAGINE THAT? Again I've supported this team since 1972. I was a little kid so my parents spent the money....lol. My point is I am sick of these excuses, these moronic trades, these foolish deals, and worse yet they sign the most inept Free Agents possible and they wonder why their stands slowly became emptier and emptier? People are sick of the excuses, people are sick or the classic Brewers trades.............idiotic! Also people are fed up with the well get em next year BS! Christian Yelich being the player he is wanting to win TRIED HARDER to get hits, and with the pitchers pitching around him he never got decent pitches to drive the ball like he did the previous years back. You all forget he was the MVP, but he also had BACK-UP. Mike Moustakas, Jesus Aguilar, some other decent hitters. Now our team has a MASSIVE .215-.220 batting average? Come on! @@petergo980 That is true, a lot of it had to due with injuries. Peralta was injured most of the year, and never really got it going. All of the injuries pushed Ashby into a prominent role and he, like Peralta, struggled between health and effectiveness. Burnes cruised until August. Woodruff was out about a month, but has been really good. Houser was nearly pitching his way out of the rotation before his injury. Small, who most would've seen as the up and down SP7, has struggled with walks all year, and since his last stint with the Crew he has been awful in AAA.
      The offense has been good overall but very inconsistent. Most of that can probably be attributed to both Adames struggles and their inability to hit LHP, the team has a .750 OPS against RHP vs a .658 OPS against LHP. At the deadline, that should've been what they were looking for, I had Christian Walker as a good candidate that could platoon with Tellez, as he mashes LHP.

    You have to figure out how to generate more income. No reason you should be ranked 19th after the seasons you’ve had the past 4 years. I also don’t know of a Brewers jersey that I’d buy because idk who’s sticking around. I just bought a Michael Harris II jersey and I have Acuña and Freddie’s still. You need a core player like Yelich to stop sucking.. Although that’s kind of how bad he was as apart of the Marlins.

    • @Thebarrelmke
      @Thebarrelmke  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree about the generating more income. I don't know if it's legitimately an income issue or an unwillingness to spend issue or both. Difficult as a Brewers' fan.

    • @toilet_cleaner_man

      Counsell isnt at fault, its impossible to make a broken machine work properly, and Mark A's cheapness will keep this machine broken by not giving Sterns any money to use on anybody. We cant retain talent, we dont sign FA's, and we rarely make trades for actual MLB players. Mark A's tenure is already a thunderous failure.

    Always trading away proven talent. Inconsistent hitting and pitching. Won't go after bigger names, our more to the point, won't spend the money on decent players. That's what keeps this team from ever winning a championship.

      You have to make the playoffs to even have a chance, St. Louis has figured out how to stay close and make adjustments during the season to improve there chance , Brewers need a better minor league system, you have to build through the system, and need a better talent evaluation
