Vorab: Leider habe ich lediglich auf den Ponsse Harvester eine Kamera für den Videoton montiert!!
Mal wieder was ganz Neues auf meinem Kanal zusehen. Ein Menzi Muck Schreitbagger - vom Garten und Landschaftsbau Florian Springob nähe Attendorn - kämpft sich durch einen Holzbestand im Steilhang. Hier fällt er die Bäume mit einem Fällgreifer von MVD und arbeitet diese nach unten. Dort verarbeitet ein Ponsse Scorpion King - vom Forstunternehmen Kukulies - die Bäume in Abschnitte bzw. Langholz. Anschließend wird das Holz durch einen HSM Skidder gerückt & gepoltert.

Menzi Muck M545:
157PS Motorleistung aus 4 Zylinder, Kran-Hubkräfte aus 3,0m - ca. 9,2 Tonnen, aus 4,5m - 6 Tonnen, aus 6,0m - 4,1 Tonnen, 13 Tonnen Einsatzgewicht, MVD Fällgreifer.
Ponsse Scorpion King:
286PS Motorleistung aus 7,7 Liter Hubraum, 180kN Zugkraft, C50 10 Meter Kran mit 265kNm Hubmoment, 57kNm Schwenkmoment auf 280°, Einsatzgewicht ca. 24 Tonnen, Harvesteraggregat H7.

I can't understand WHY logging is allowed on such steep slopes? Don't you have erosion where you are?
Sometimes the Weight of the Trees is the actual Danger, which can lead to the upper Layer on the Hillside to slide down, since this Sort of Tree has a flat Rootsystem and not a deep one going down for Meters. The old Roots will be in there long enough until young Trees are growing back to make new Rootsystems. What you can often see being done (for some Reason not here) is, that Stumps are left 1m high and felled Trees laid behind them to act as a Snow-/Debris-/Rockfallstopper.
It could also be that they get felled because of Desease or a Bug called "Borkenkäfer" in German, which kills large Areas of Trees in just a few Months, since they look somewhat young and sick. Felling and debarking will stop the Bug to spread even wider.
In many Areas this work is still done by Hand, with Treefellers walking up and down those Slopes all Day carrying all their Gear with them...
I hope I could explain it somewhat logical, since english isn't my first Language....

Der Harvester hat es direkt in Langholzabschnitte zerteilt. Es wurde komplett als Langholz gelassen und so auch abgefahren.
Schon mal was von Effizienz ghört?😉 Langholz geht viel schneller

I guess the socalled "Borkenkäfer" (German name) a Bug that lives under the Bark and kills large Areas of Trees in just a few Months. That Thing is a real Pain in the Ass for middle-european Foresters...
