Should I get Massive while its half price or continue on serum monthly hire plan with splice? Also will there be a sale on your serum packs for black friday?
So I would like to add something to the first FX. Some artists like will sparks use this technique, but when you make sure the LFO ends at 1/8 of a beat, with work of a filter or whatever you'd like to use for it, you can transition that vocal into a bass :)
yo zen i just noticed that you never made any videos for melodic dubstep can you please make a video how to layer leads and basses in melodic dubstep drop.
curious if you have tried Gladiator 2, i own it and have seen very little tutorials or videos on it, i own serum and appreciated these tips, looking to get back into making psytrance and other styles. looking to get inspired!
Hey zen I am looking for courses on music theory I've heard of the hoop theory book what's your opinions also should I get both the 1st and the 2nd one
bro just look up hooktheory book .apk if u have android, i recommend it, it helps you to understand music theory and even tech you a lot more, i think if you know how to produce now and read those books, you ids in term of musical quality will improve from 1 to maube 50% the other half comes with a lot of practice, experience and time.
It's funny how it became massively popular in the ages of Goa Trance and now the small mainstream portion of it is really rising in popularity again. Although to be honest Psytrance was always huge, big parties and festivals were always a thing, but the full-on and progressive mainstream Isreal-type Psytrance seems to be stepping outside of it's following of more devoted fans to the "casual" audience. Though that side wasn't really my thing too much, I would usually prefer Darkpsy subgenre with it's Forest, Hi-Tech and Psycore. Still cool to see that though.
Catching up? In terms of sound quality or popularity? Psytrance I feel has had the best production values out of most EDM for the past 15 years at least. Super high quality Drum and Bass is equally difficult (Pendulum / Nosia level production) Psy has one of the hardest learning curves of all EDM, it has the most interesting and complex sounds and very difficult relationships between elements that takes real skill in mixing and arrangement.. I can make and mix any style of music, but Psytrance I have to admit, I'm still working at perfecting after 17 years working in music .
If my opinion matters to all the kids arguing over which DAW is better, ALL DAW’s do the same thing in the end. There is no DAW that makes someone produce better music. It all comes down so which DAW suits your needs. I have made 2 tracks 1 with FL Studio and 1 with Ableton and they both came out alright. I personally prefer FL Studio for producing as i find it easier to navigate and i have gotten very used to using the variety of hot keys to navigate the program. So my point is it all comes down to personal preference. All DAW does the same thing in the end, just really depends on we’ll you use what program.

Psytrance was never dead, it's still full of producers, festivals, parties and people. Not sure what you're on about. If you mean that the Isreal-type mainstream psytrance is bad then I get what you mean, it's a little disconnected but it's still psytrance. But aside from that, you still have all the other subgenres in full motion - Goa, Neo-Goa, Morning, Twilight, Progressive, Full-On, Darpksy, Forest, Hi-Tech, Psycore.
Depends on what you mean by psytrance, because you have many subgenres in it and frankly the things that are the most popular are the least "psychedelic" trance like you have in the whole genre.
Hey america! Can you stop ruining genres? I'm not trying to deliberately hate, but if being a fan of electronic music for so many years has taught me anything, it has taught me that as soon as something gets belatedly popular in America, that genre get ruined. I mean look at Melbourne bounce, like do any of you even know Orkestrated and Dean Del? Melbourne bounce was twisted such a way that is irreparable and completely turned a lot of people off it. Even sparksy and Joel Fletcher took a break from it. Now that Psy is gaining popularity in America (and late as usual) I can already foresee its downfall and that makes me sad. I'M NOT SAYING TO NEVER MAKE PSY-TRANCE! Please don't take this as me discouraging you from making music. Psy-trance is about love and acceptance that will never change. But if you do attempt to make Psy, please do it in good taste, don't do it because it's popular right now do it because you genuinely love it.
I can see how this is gonna come across, the internet doesn't need anymore experts. Here are some Psy artist that you (Zen World and the rest of the internet) should listen to if you're really keen on getting into Psy-Trance: (I have many more, feel free to message me for more! Even if you want some of my favourite songs from each artist) Neelix Phaxe Ghost Rider Morten Granau Talpa Purple Hayes Durs Grouch Ace Ventura Ranji Freedom Fighters Fabio and Moon Unseen Dimensions Liquid Soul Effective
I discovered Oforia a few weeks ago - his music's arguably closer to goa trance than psytrance, but I find after listening to a lot of psytrance tracks most seem similar, where his is different from what's generic: th-cam.com/video/_tRtWbkf_0w/w-d-xo.html Symbolic is also a notable addition to the artist list
Matt Ellis yeah when people talk about psy to me they are usually talking about Timmy trumpet, vini vici, or some Melbourne bounce that has been sped up with triplets in it. Swear psytrance has become very un psychedelic. Don’t get me wrong I love chunking out to some fat duggas, but a lot of it now sounds the same.
U are so gr8, giving away all these secrets for free ♥
Not really secrets but Zen is still great for making a video like this anyways.
can you do tutorial about this in flp :D
Can you make a tutorial on how to create that awesome robotic chopped vocal effect at 1:02 ? That would be great
Studio one lends really nice to trance music . Some great features
#1 is the Radio announcement effect I've been interested which opens a lot of sound design possibilities, thanks.
you can automate loop end in fl tho..............LOL
using directwave
How?

granulizer, direct wave =)
How
You can automate loop points in ableton. Look into a video on youtube called creating exponential beats.
In Simpler you can but for some reason Sampler doesn't allow this!
With Renoise I can do this effect with automation or by programming it directly into the track down to the right note when I want it. The builtin sampler is great!
you just have to use the simpler and not the sampler for the first one, you can add a macro on the loop function after activating it
how do you make something like "Paul Van Dyk - Nothing But You"?
with love, and passion :)
@Zen your analysis of what defines a genre and the further analysis of those inner components is always impressive.
Hi! Can someone tell me what the song at the end is? I love this 'tak boom boom' beat and dont know how call it! Thank you
Anyone? :bump
The last effect is usually made with sample and hold modulation aka chaos osc in Serum
You forgot something on the second effect. There is usually a band or high pass on it, which can be modulated or automated
Thanks for adding brother
Yep, high pass or band pass that goes the opposite direction and you get a psy squelch.
And it needs delay
Ableton is better ?? Pff we can do this effect with an automation 😂
I think there both great DAWS :)
fl studio is not better
ABLETON IS BETTER THAN FL STUDIO!!!
Arpedigator (ableton native) do first tip so easy and perfect.
I hate when some people want teach but dont know how works
PROPHET Isn't it ironic?! 😂
Check out Bassjackers video to do this in FL studio
link pls?
th-cam.com/video/PmkV22wNT_k/w-d-xo.html
thanks man
Have you listened to any Purple Haze stuff from Sander?
Can I recreate that effect in Cubase?
In a short Phaser, Flanger, reverb, Echo & Delay they r doing the work.
Put the vocal sample into simpler instead of sampler, you can automate the loop length knob in there :) I do that effect all the time like that
This video was seen to produce on FL ❤😂
LOVE THIS!!!!!
Should I get Massive while its half price or continue on serum monthly hire plan with splice? Also will there be a sale on your serum packs for black friday?
Simpler allows you to shorten the loop length though...
VEERY NICE BROO MAKE SOME ATMOSPHERES AND LEADS WITH THE SERUM PLEASEE ;DD SOME FOREST ATMOSPHERES :DD
Much love from South Afirca , thanks for sharing some tips dude !
5:20 WHAT DID HE DO THERE??? PLEASE HELP ME
Please release the track at the end of this video +Zen World muy fuego!!! Or is it already available on your site??
name of the last song please?
I also need to know.
Dude I’ve been using ableton for so long and I’ve never used the aux in simpler. That’s fucking sweet. Thank you
I Think the loop was bugging a bit
It somehow said "Ableton is better than Fl Studio"
But nevertheless decent tut
😂
Nice tutorial as always. In a side note: in FL Studio you can literally automate an automation!! But that's too advanced for Ableton users :P
Could anyone help me out here, have been searching for some time already.
How the hell do i do the first effect in fl studio?
What the name of the bg music, and the music with the "stage dancers" 😁😀.
Pardon my cluelessness, I haven't been exposed to these genres.

i think on simpler device you can automate the end point of the loop , great tutorial !
Outro song?
very helpfull video!
how to do that first effect with logic

My favorite is sweep, Flanger, Phaser, Chorous
song name please?
How many tutorials are in the future bounce pack? and what type of tutorials are in it? Sound design? :D
Just 1 long one with Jay Eskar on Processing Sounds Like he does. His mixdowns are deadly
Ok thx :D
niceeeeeeee video !!
you can automate the looptime for the build up with a simpler
Pretty sure you can automate the sample speed for the first effect, saw another tutorial for it and that’s what he did.
How can we do that Vocal FX in Studio One?
get ableton
great video as always Zen. :-)
I noticed that. Psy trance is really catching up in the EDM scene just like Future House did.
Trying to Push IT MORE
Zen World thank you! I'll forgive you for talking shit on my music project. Psytrance is great!

Why do you hate fl so much.. ? I'm just asking. 😁. Always love your videos. I'm trying ableton.. 😉
Nothing is better than FL studio
You know what else is pretty basic and works really well at festivals? Big Room. And we all know what happend when Big Room became popular.
ReboyGTR well psytrance has been dead for a long time now. This is just edm trash

Why exactly Ableton is better than FL studio?
Hi, I want to dabble in making psytrance music. What essential equipment do I need to begin this journey, please?
I'm liking your puns more and more
Only 10 days with ableton and it broke my 5 years old friendship with FL studio.
Nice video, but you made a litle mistake, what you wanted to say would be "FL Studio is better than Ableton". Aside from that, it was pretty good.
wow lets make our music all the same...
Thank you!!
Ableton is cool
why is ableton better than fl?
asked myself in that moment bcz everyone is using it for psy...
meanwhile all you need in fl is the granulizer.
Or use automations
LFOtool on loop end.
Y en español? :V
forest is the answer
The first effect you can do easily with Fl studio, which is ironic ;)
Could you let me know how?
heh... i may prefer Ableton's workflow for stuff, but FL Studio has overall better builtin synths and tools.
You know how long I've been waiting for psy trance to get popular?
I dont want psytrance to become popular eventhough im producing it since 4 yrs :/

How can I do that effect in FL studio? And what is it called?
