+Emerson Carlos hi Emerson, thanks for your message and I understand where you come from. However I would like to defend us a little bit. Around 20 years ago the Brazilians lambada dancers felt in love with zouk music from the French Caribbean. Lambada song were starting to fade and slowly died so lambada dancers found a way of continuing dancing their loved dance by using the zouk music. Following that they realized the dance would need to suffer changes to better fit the new style music so they did and by not having the knowledge that the zouk dance already existed they called their "new lambada" zouk. It is too late for us to change the name but we do not ignore where it comes from and respect the other culture. For this reason we call it Brazilian Zouk. This is just a short information for you and we do respect your thoughts! Thank you very much :)
I'm living in Rio and... yes it's really common Zouk Parties/Clubs/School Dances around here. If you look for the Facebook Page "Zouk in Rio" you gonna find a lot of events there 👌🏻
