I see most of the people gave vending stands ,unlike TOGO the people are out in groves , and business is booming , this reminds me of Lagos Nigeria.and they don't worry about robbers

Visits to the market place are some of my favorite places to go. Not necessarily just to buy anything, but more so to enjoy the people and the activity. It is amazing how beautiful and colorful with varying designs and patterns the women's dresses are. Some of the men also have on colorful shirts and pants I would like to have in my wardrobe. The vendors don't appear to be customer friendly. I am used to being greeted with a big smile and a welcoming introduction from the seller.

West Africa 🌍 largest Market is in Onitsha, Anambra state Nigeria Second largest is Ariaria Market,Aba in Eastern Nigeria 🇳🇬, Abia State. And many more in Nigeria 🇳🇬.
i am not sure of that,. yes it is described as the biggest in some articles and dantokpa in some others. if someone could find the size of onitsha market we could be sure of that, I couldn' t find the exact info. I know dantokpa is around 20 hectares.
Ludo, I hope you can find a toilet near by after eating those foods since you are not local eating the foods. It looks to me as if some of those Republic of Benin market women are not friendly or they may not know anything about good customer service. I hope your daughters Lulu and Lea like the presents you bought for them.

How do these markets work? do they arrive very early and bring the stuff in from elsewhere and do they pack everything away after closing or are they permanently set up?
I am not 100 percent sure, these are suppositions. I think they pack their stuf around for the night and come the day after... , they have their fixed spot where they are everyday
I would have to carry a flask of strong spirits around to sip during every meal to keep the tummy from getting upset. Seems nobody practices basic hygiene when preparing food. That guy handled money and your sandwich in the same hand. I would be the perpetually drunk tourist.
She said « He is recording people. He is recording us. Goodness » she probably doesn’t want to be recorded but did not want to lose a customer reason why she was uncomfortable and speaking with ludo that way. Otherwise they are friendly un that market

the colors are lasting some time, but will gradually fade away after dozens of washing
