I watch a lot of flying videos on TH-cam and there are very few folks who seem as authentically enamored with flight as Bambi does....especially in this video. The smile and laughter made me want to jump back into the cockpit immediately.
Radial engine, fabric covered wings and fuselage, open cockpits... That's real flying! Years ago I took a ride in a Stearman and the pilot did some basic aerobatics much like in this video. It was a blast! 😃 (I'm not a pilot.)
Middelburg is only 128km from me, and it fills my heart with joy knowing you could experience this beautiful part of our country, in a Stearman no less. Ivan is a Legend. Keep doing more in South Africa, there's so much to discover and experience. And keep up the excellent quality of your videos, I cannot stop watching. Lastly, never lose that infectiously energetic attitude of yours. Watching you experience everything makes me feel young again lol. Much love from South Africa :)
I got a short hop in one of those years ago...okay, decades ago, well more like 40+ years...anyway, the details aren't important except that I was a kid hanging out at the local airport and a local GE executive owned a PT-17, in WWII U.S Navy training aircraft colors, and my instructor arranged for him to give me a spin around the pattern a few times in one. The ride came complete with leather jacket and leather flying helmet. Thrilled doesn't begin to describe how I felt. What great fun. Thanks for a great video.
I flew in a Steaman... Did a roll. Fun! Fun! Fun! I got my father a ride in a Steaman. He had a great time and passed a year later. I so happy to have given him that experience. Pilot Bambi TH-cam channel rocks!
A family friend, ex UA Captain, has a Stearman in his small collection of aircraft. His father was a USAF pilot instructor flying these during WW2 and he managed to find the very same airframe his father flew in those years. You, Rosita, remind me of his eldest daughter who caught the flying bug very early. She went on to be an instructor and has many type ratings.
Very, very cool - the Stearman is one of my top five bucket list aircraft to fly. I need to share this with a couple of my friends - they used to work as wingwalkers for a Stearman display team in the UK.
Finally i had some peace and quiet to watch this superb video 😁 Bambi..your face expression, smiles and eyes just showed me how much you have enjoyed this flight 👏 Ivan is based here at the airfield in our neighbourhood 😊 So thanks to Ivan for giving Bambi a big treat. And thank you Bambi for sharing the love of flight.I cant believe time flew so quick that you had to return back home.Would like if you could visit us (South Africa) again in the future. And hopefully by then 🙏 Covid would have eased a tiny bit to allow a better airshow for you all to visit.I thank you.Mark
There is a very good chance that my father flew that particular Stearman back in WW2 as he was doing his training on the Arnold scheme at Lakeland, and what a flight that was for you Bambi as nothing beats a Stearman.
Amazing, such an old craft is still in service!! They made them well, back then! Got to be great fun flying that classic machine! Fantastic performance!! You won't forget that ride EVER!!! Yeah, your spoiled now!!
That was fabulous I did the same in a Slingby for a birthday present of my wife really enjoyed needed a few drinks after though cheers Doug Manchester UK
I was lucky enough to score a flight a little like this in a DH Tiger Moth, hopping over hedges and buzzing the pilots cow and sheep farmer neighbours around Queenstown and Arrowtown NZ, the best thing I've ever done with my pants on!
Nothing can compare to a ride in a Stearman. I was fortunate enough to ride in one at Dillingham Airfield in Hawaii . The pilot was a Captain for Hawaiian Air his hangar was directly across from Captain Bills Gluder Rides. Best money I ever spent even better than the Gliders and they are fantastic.
Nice video, P. Bamby! I have already seen how you enjoyed the acrobatic flight. Is awesome. It has nothing to do with straight and level flight, it is "defying the sky." Pure adrenaline! Years ago I also flew acrobatic on two occasions, but with the "Americna Champion" (Bellanca). What I have yet to do is fly with a historic plane, and I hope to do it shortly, with the Bücker Jungmann from the RAC Malaga (Real Aeroclub de Malaga) facilities at LEAX (Velez-Malaga).
The interview at the start was well done. I liked hearing about the intended flight. I kept anticipating the next maneuver even before the current maneuver was complete. That got me really engaged in the flight experience. Nice!
Oh Rosita ! It was so touching to almost see the tears in your eyes just after the landing... It must have been IN-CRE-DI-BLE ! It surely was one of those moments in life which you'll always remember. I'm just doing my PPL right now, maybe we'll meet in the skies one day :)
She did it again....surprise us with a new plane type and new adventure. I would have been scared going on a wood/fabric plane with a giant engine. The fabric needed also some tlc i think. It looked like a real beaten workhorse.
You just knocked every previous video off the chart with this one!! Even the music was sensational 🎼 Very Very cool indeed 🤩 well done Bambi and look forward to seeing you in Australia if the opportunity presents itself
OMG that was fantastic. It was like I was there but man I would love to have the feeling of the G's and all the forces that you felt. I had a crazy instructor who did all sorts of crazy things with a regular Cessna 152 which was not an aerobatic stressed aircraft but he still did loops and wingovers and rolls. That was back in the very early 80s. I'm so jealous.
So awesome …was waiting for a story thank you so much ! 🤩👏👏👏👏🤗🤗🤗🤗. I took 8 hours of dual in a biplane at LUK Lunken airport in Cincinnati Oh. …so much fun he let me do a loop and barrel tool😁😁😁😁😁😁 ..ps are you coming to Oshkosh air show in Wisconsin…..I hope 🔥🔥🔥
Fantastic. I always tune in to catch a glimpse of your pretty smile, but you excelled yourself this time. I reckon everyone watching smiled right along with you. I can't imagine you flying like that in your C-208 !!! LOL What a great video.
Bambi that was a awesome flight for you. Could you see ok with the wind going in your eyes. What about your head won't you cold.hope you are well you are umberleaveabley brave philip.
Just like my first ever passenger both damned Adrenaline Junkies. Myself I like the Blue up and the Green down. Each to their own I guess. Regards, Jim in NI UK
Could you PLEAAAAASE give me the reference of the smoke machine mounted on this crazy plane ? Thanks a lot, no one is able to give me this information !!
As an aircraft mechanic and pilot, with no experience with fabric covering: Is it a concern that the fabric on the elevator for example is waving in the wind? Usually the fabric is quite tight/
The fabric can only be so tight before it will distort the flying surfaces. The fabric you see waving in the wind is over open structure where there is no ribs/stringers to stitch it to.

Bambi is back!!!👌👍👏🙂
I got a ride in the front seat of a Tiger Moth a few years back. When you lose the cabin and your head's out in the wind it's like nothing else.
I have always wished I could fly a plane but my eyes are not what they need to be , your joy comes though in your films keep it up.
You are living the dream, Rosita! Thanks for taking us along w you. ⛅️
glad you liked the video!!

Found you on Patreon!!! Super happy to become one of your patrons!
wow cannot believe aircraft like this able to do all those maneuvering
Stunning. Your excitement about aviation and life brings me great joy. You have the right outlook on life Bambi. Big hugs from Port Elizabeth.
I've also flown with Ivan in he's Pit special! Was an amazing experience. Back then the stearman wss still very early stage!

Hi Bambi, That was a cool WW2 flght to have a good aerobatic adventure in the sky for you. That is so nice Bambi. You are my flying heroine always
Very nice ride!! Her face said it all!!
"Thanks for being a nice person" . Well , it takes a gentleman to realise and say that . Seems fun that stearman . On the bucketlist !
Very, very cool - the Stearman is one of my top five bucket list aircraft to fly. I need to share this with a couple of my friends - they used to work as wingwalkers for a Stearman display team in the UK.
Brilliant buzz and a beautiful plane.👍🏆😲

Awesome video. The smile on your face tells the story. I been able to fly in a Stearman, What a fun bird.

Lucky gal! Awesome flight.
Stearmans are cool!!
The constant smile says it all
I was lucky enough to score a flight a little like this in a DH Tiger Moth, hopping over hedges and buzzing the pilots cow and sheep farmer neighbours around Queenstown and Arrowtown NZ, the best thing I've ever done with my pants on!
Show!!! Bambi!!!
Thanks for sharing the requested roller coaster ride :) I got to ride in a biplane a couple years ago, no aerobics unfortunately.
Loved the video, especially the perspective from the back of the plane :)

time of your life! Nice
Unreal!
Ivannnnn, haven’t seen him in a while, he used to fly ferry for our Harvard aerobatic team
I was smiling during the whole video 😊 What an incredible experience 😍
Oh Rosita ! It was so touching to almost see the tears in your eyes just after the landing... It must have been IN-CRE-DI-BLE !

She did it again....surprise us with a new plane type and new adventure. I would have been scared going on a wood/fabric plane with a giant engine. The fabric needed also some tlc i think. It looked like a real beaten workhorse.
The cameras were perfectly placed. What a great ride.

Pilot Bambi en de Boeing stearman: The best pilot and my favorite airplane. Kijk er naar uit.
Hihi dankje!!
OMG that was fantastic. It was like I was there but man I would love to have the feeling of the G's and all the forces that you felt. My old flying club here in the UK had 4 of these beauties but I never managed to grab a jolly in one 😪 can't beat a bit of crop dusting 👍
Wow so cool!!!

So fn cool!!!!!
Woohooo!! I remember my flight in a Stearman many years ago, I found it just as AWESOME as you did! 👍🏼😜😎
It's just simply the best!!!
@@PilotBambi It's just a great aeroplane. I had hoped he would let you on the stick a little bit to get the feel.

Is there a "Stunt Pilot Bambi" in your future? Wonderful video!
For sure!! Had my first aerobatics training in a Decathlon, but hope to get onto the Pitts soon 😍
awesome stream tysm.. 😂🤘✈️
Beautiful video, But the cameraman who was filming from behind the tail of the Stearman also had a hard time
Loved this video, keep up the great work.
Great video. What was the external camera setup? Maybe a 360 with later rectification?
Thank you! Yep, it was the gopro MAX, and then I edited the footage before inserting it in the video :)
Just like my first ever passenger both damned Adrenaline Junkies. Myself I like the Blue up and the Green down. Each to their own I guess. Regards, Jim in NI UK
Next Pilot Bambi Video, taking lessons in the Stearman. Is there a plane she can't fly? What plane do you want to fly, Pilot Bambi answers: All.
Long time no see.
Could you PLEAAAAASE give me the reference of the smoke machine mounted on this crazy plane ? Thanks a lot, no one is able to give me this information !!
I can see my Forefathers made a mistake when they left Holland for South Africa, they left some pretty girls back there! LOL!
I bet Ivan was interested as hell to see that, probably had no idea it moves the way it does.
Many many moons ago I was Ivan's first outside student, not part of the company he worked for.......The days when both of us could fit in a C150😂
Hi Bambi, vraagje met welk programma editten jullie de GoPro 360?
