Hai lovely playroom The toy storage unit can be turned up Side down and then you have a set in surface. I saw on a nursery school you tube. It looked absolutely brilliant.
Tip for the skirting boards, sand them back abit till they’re Matt, use Matt paint first (a coat or two) then gloss over the top. Should hide the dark colour better
I had grey gloss in my house 🤦♀️, I don’t normally prime stuff but grab a cheap gloss primer from Screwfix or toolstation and then white gloss … helped me loads!
For all future wood painting use satin, it lasts so much longer,and leaves a beautiful finish. I will never go back to gloss. I use satin on all woodwork and leaves a pure white finish.

I am living in the past right now because I, too, painted a chalkboard for my five kids. I took ABC & 123 stickers and put them around it and built a small shelf at the bottom for the chalk and erasers. I absolutely adore Ari and Noah. Okay, maybe you two a little bit! 🤣. Absolutely with you El. I wanted as many as I could but only was blessed with four daughters. I often said I’d carry and deliver for anyone. Loved the labor and delivery and the children. Such happiness it makes a home. Well for most it does. Have had our chalk walk for at least 15+years. All the kids are gone but when they come gnome they always write a note for us. Now my grandson uses it. I’ll never get rid of it.

One addition I woukd suggest is to frame in the chalk board to keep the walls clean, and on the bottom have a curved edge to hold the chalk! The twins are going to have so much fun in there! Now have a glass of wine 🍷🍷and off to bed! ❤❤

In North Amercia, crooked means askew, but we said, squish....so, the squif word morphed for us. I grew up in newfoundland which I've mentioned before...we still had a lot of English dialect words when I was growing up 40 plus years ago. The word crooked meant cross..I also still use this word.

I think it is the that brand of gloss, I switched to a cheap (non drip) tin from b&m and it was so much better!
