Just recently found your Channel, you really have a gift for bringing this way of life alive, of putting meat on the bones. I learned so much as I am an isolated practitioner of this religion and new to it. Books are good and they fill you with information, but seeing our rituals in action can't be duplicated on black and white pages
I recently found your channel and want to say thank you for providing so much insight and inspiration. And I have a question. Why do you wear historic clothes? Is it a part of your believe?
We wear sometimes historic, sometimes fantasy and sometimes just our plain old street clothes, even a blend of all of those. It doesn't have much to do with the ritual and religion, it is more about feeling a little connection to our history and lore.
Im curious to what he says at the beginning before calling to the forces of the north and so on? I hear you guys say it alot but i have a hard time picking it out lol
@@GothicRose-cb3ve not specifically but we have a lot of blot videos. If you watch them and like the formula you should be able to craft your own for just about any occasion.
It is the beer that is in the offering bowl. Usually mead, beer, or wine. Blood was the currency back in the day but now it is rare, but it is still used occasionally on farmsteads, like ours.
As a Scandinavian im curious about how/why you guys started doing this? Did your ancestors emigrate to America from Scandinavia? Surely they were Lutheran by that time, and not Asatru. Do you all believe in Yggdrasil and all the heims that come with it? Do you believe in Ragnarok, or do you view these ideas more as spiritual metaphors, and links to your own ancestry? Very interesting to see this ceremony, as a sort of peek back in time to my own ancestors, as they would have been holding a blot like this 1000 years ago. I wish you all well in the new year.
Part of my family line is from Norway and a scattering from all around Eurpope. The funny thing about Americans is that although we were born here, we are all a product of migration. I found this path 30 years ago because the stories, deeds, and overall though process resonated with me like none before or since. It is less about heritage and more about being true to what we feel inside.
The Germanic heathen religion wasn't limited to Scandinavia. It was found everywhere the Germanic peoples lived. Scandinavia is the last historical area where the religion was historically practiced and today informs much of the revival of the overall Germanic Heathenry.
I am extremely grateful to you for your content. Since I now live in the territory of the Russian Federation, I do not have full access to all information about Asatru, which, among other things, is hindered by the language barrier. Your videos help me and my wife to practice Asatru easier and better. Happy New Year and Happy Yule. And I wanted to ask you two questions. Russian practitioners of Asatru argue that women should not wear the Thor’s hammer because it is "harmful" to women's health. What can you say about it? And how books about Scandinavian runes and runes “magic” you could recommend?
Thank you so much for being here. For rune books I would caution only to stay away from Eldrid Thorsson, aka Steven Flowers. The money from his books go directly to fund a bunch of white supremists. Other than that, enjoy the ride. With the hammer, yes women did wear hammers in the viking age and it was probably more common than men wearing them.
So you actually believe the Norse pantheon exist? Or is it more like using the examples of them in the stories to guide yourself. Like asking thinking of Superman trying to make myself more confident.
I think the gods are pure inyellegent energy and occasionally take human form for whatever prupose they deem it necessary. The gods are real but on a different level than the "real" that we are used to.
The deities are definitely real powers.that exist within everything. Myths are not literal. They are symbolic ways of understanding the reality of the holy powers. Every culture has its own myths and ways to relate to the same divine energies that fashioned the cosmos. The Germanic culture through our myths and ancestors is simply our natural way of relating to these powers
my personal interpretation as i piece this together; in a stripped down nut shell, is that odin is a metaphore for goal achievement or accomplishment and his underlings appear (at least to me) to represent the work needed to achieve said goal accomplishment. although i would like to pick a historian of sort's brain about that and perhaps find out if i'm the only one it has ever appeared this way to.
Hail to Thor! Protector of all mankind.

Agreed, and thank you for such a great comment. 👍
Beautifully performed by all including the dogs. Thanks so much for sharing your rite with us.
That is our pleasure thank you for watching it and welcome to our channel.
The dogs are unequivocally the most important part of this kindred

hail tor son of odinn! hail asgard and valhalla, victory!
Done well 🎉 thank you for sharing your spiritual work!
Thank you for watching.
It makes sense to blot to Thor for Yule since mid to late January is the actual Midwinter Yule tide. Christianity moved Yule to the winter solstice.
Would you be willing to teach us the old norse parts of the rituals for the forming the shield walls?
Yes, I have some old documentation on it that I'll dig out first.
