Then she pretends to have lost her mind to avoid being killed outright. Yingluo goes to see her after this in and it’s explained how she had always been used by men as a tool for her beauty and never had any safety. So when her son died she wanted to kill herself, this was the only way she could get vengeance on those who used her. She really envied Yingluo because two men loved her and protected her whereas she herself was fated to have no one and had to fend for herself.
