Dir En Grey. So many people will see them for being a Japanese speaking band, and say it's a bunch of anime garbage. But Dir En Grey is a fun band, Kyo is a vocalist who sounds so demonic and insane. Don't let the language deter you away from it. Literally my friends who are into metal hate Dir En Grey. But they're a fantastic band and are still making their best material.
I love Dir En Grey so much. They actually have a pretty unique niche amongst Japanese bands. I never even saw Dir En Grey as a weeb anime band like that. They used to be visual kei, which definitely has anime vibes, but ever since they started touring with bands like Korn in America, they fit more into the broader alternative/extreme metal sound without a lot of the trappings that people perceive as "Japanese otaku" stuff.
I don't really care if Ghost is metal or not. I like their music and will continue to listen to them anyway. They're a fun band, sometimes you need a little break from all the black metal xdd
Right? Some people act like all they listen to is the rawest of black metal or death metal that sounds like a toilet being flushed. You’re telling me you NEVER want to listen to something fun like Abba, W.A.S.P., or Ghost?
I’m not *really* enough of a metalhead to speak on most of the bands in this video, but I have two opinions so far: - The thing about black metal gatekeepers is that… lots of them are the worst people you’ll ever meet? A genre with a neo-Nazi problem as widespread as black metal has really shouldn’t be so concerned with its own purity - it leaves an incredibly gross impression, to say the very least. - Yeah, Ghost is 100% a dad metal band, and I don’t think anyone seriously disputes that. That being said, they have some *tunes.* - I’m pretty mixed on Sleep Token. I understand exactly why some people dislike them, and I also understand exactly why some people love them. Is it just kind of downtuned Imagine Dragons? Yeah, sort of, but there’s also a real richness and atmosphere here that I think elevates their material over these basic tropes.
Cradle of Filth was the first thing I thought of when I saw this video. I remember them being the band to get me into black metal. Then I learned about real black metal lol. That said, I still think COF is a good band, labels aside. The vitriol they receive just makes me more supportive of them. If it pisses off black metal purists, then its fine by me 😂
Im 39 who’s been into metal, rock and rap since I got forth heard korn in 1996. All genres of the day coming from one band. Wild times man. Back in the day on YT you could make direct video replies and I hate that’s gone now. I have a lot to say. You being maybe 22 tops, it’s really damn cool to hear your views. So for that reason I will make videos in response to yours, amongst other. It’s just to shoot the shit vlog style basically. I’ll let you know when it’s up!
The bands that I think that are overhated are nickelback scene queen ghost deafheaven infant annihilator job for a cowboy trivium limp bizkit king gizzard and the lizard wizard breaking Benjamin motionless in white zeal and ardor spiritbox bring me the horizon
Michael knows from the daily wire really disappointed me because I liked how the guy used to really think through his arguments and actually from what I remember have pretty well rounded opinions about different forms of media and try and understand where people came from. But then, as soon as I saw him assume that all of anime is pedophilic and all metal are Satanic and stuff, I just lost all respect for him.
Seems you're on a good path. I would implore you to reevaluate all those daily wire guys. They are not at all concerned with freedom of rights. The only reason that their business is "profitable" is because its all propped up by the Wilks brothers. Daily Wire doesn't do "reporting". it's literally just some conservative billionaire's propaganda mouthpiece.
I feel like a-lot of pepole hate Sleep Token Because they mainly take the main details from the genres they are influenced by and they are not going any depper in terms of the smaller and more specific things that make each of these genres ehat they are. And I might be a-litlle biased (because I am a huge fun of the band) but I think pepole don't understand how hard can it be to write music with this amount of influnces while still sounding cetchy. It's basicly imposiblle to get all the full detials to all of thr genres because it will take 200 years to write a song like this.
Compared to how popular they are, I disagree. I like Metallica, but I don’t think the quality of the music reflects their popularity, especially in the past like 20 years.
black veil brides gets so much hate like i really enjoy there music there new song bleeders is really good I think there going melodic metalcore which I think will suit them they don’t deserve the hate that they get
