I don't know if anyone's mentioned it to you yet, but Animarchy, friend of the Pig, recently released a video on the generally overlooked Battle of Norway in WWII. Would love to see you react to it.
You're being very unfair to Ronald Regan and Donald Trump, Joe. Remember Martial Law in Poland back in communist days? Do you know why the USSR didn't back up its lackeys in Poland with The Red Army? It's because Regan threatened the USSR with stopping the grain from the US and banning the USSR from using american pumps which the Soviets needed in order to keep their oil pipes operational. Because soviet-made pumps were shit. Therefore the USSR had no other choice than stand on the sidelines which avoided a major massacre in Poland. Because if the Soviets invaded, we the Poles would fight back. And no, Trump *WAS NOT* pro-russian. He advocated for Germany and France to increase their respective armies because the US was getting tired of fucking protecting everybody withou other major countries in NATO doing anything. Joe Biden was pro-russian. He was - until he was *BRUTALLY FORCED* to turn back on Russia by a wave of pro-Ukraine sentiment in the US. Or did you think Biden drags his feet every fucking time he's thretened by Russia that *THIS TIME FOR SURE* Russia will launch all of its nukes is a coincidence? Trump is being fairly pro-russian now simply because it's easier than being more anti-russian than Biden in a situation when Biden is the one who can make decisions. Also the absurd is Trump being pro-russian is the best thing he can realistically do for Ukraine. Because by being pro-russian he's scaring Biden away from being pro-russian too. Which means Trump is effectively more pro-Ukraine than Biden. He just cannot openly state this without risking the POTUS turning his back on Ukraine. And Trump cannot allow this to happen because that would mean Ukraine's destruction before Trump would gain any power to do anything about that. Yeah, politics can be complicated.
Trump has little genuine ideology outside of stroking his own ego. He may have had an anti-Russia stance back then, but it took VERY little money and compliments for Russia to buy that stance off of him. He’s a mobster, not a partisan, and Putin has plenty of experience soothing the egos of mobsters.
40:10 no that was a translation error. What it meant was the fuel was filled with subpar things to skim off money from it
