I am old enough to have stayed here as a teenager. It was built for members of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. This union also ran health clinics, libraries, schools, co-ops for members of the union.
Flying from Bushkill Falls Road is doable especially in the winter with the lack of foliage. We live close and got caught as well, the guard is a bit of an asshole. If you're going to fly just be careful of the updrafts by the amphitheater.
We stumbled across this place in 2012 and got in to do some exploring. We got anxious about getting caught so we didn't stay long. Went back a 2nd time and boom caught LOL So much to see ! I'd love to go back.
I went there about a week ago. We got caught on our way out and the guy went absolutely berserk on us. He was threatening to hunt us down if we ever came back. He accused us of stealing and whatnot which, I mean there’s nothing there of value to even steal in the first place. We were just there to explore. That was one of the most extensive and amazing abandoned places I’ve ever explored but I will never go back there after that incident. It’s a shame...
@@urbexretro8147 Nah it was a white truck with a light bar on the roof of it. I’m grateful I got to see enough of the area (inside the giant auditorium, resort, and abandoned “village”) but I don’t think I’ll ever be going back given that this is their way of dealing with trespassers.
@@roguexxrenegade Interesting, I've heard so many different stories of different patrollers so I bet it's a community effort. Wouldn't be surprised if they have trail cams like another commenter mentioned, or if the locals tip the caretakers off. It really is a shame, we were so hyped about exploring the arts center + resort. Definitely not going back there anytime soon, the guy was super pissed and even bluffed about calling the cops on us. Hopefully the explore will become easier in the future.
@@urbexretro8147 Yeah the guy said he saw us coming out of a building “on the camera” so there’s definitely some remote surveillance going on there. He accused us of trying to steal stuff but there’s literally nothing there that’s worth stealing. I read somewhere online that the property was owned by a “gun club located across the street” but that was just from a Reddit or TH-cam comment I found so I wouldn’t call that very reputable. Also all that’s across the street is just thick woods from what I saw, so I can’t really vouch for the existence of such a club.
Wow! Checked this place out back in April. Didn't even know there was caretakers! Guess we got lucky. Did notice a security camera down by the lake, wasn't sure if it was working or not.
Thanks for posting, I was supposed to go here in September but it was last on the list and by that point we were exhausted. I was planning on going back this year. If you can get permission that’d be awesome.
Don't feel bad, I got kicked out too lmao after dodging the guy for hours, my dumb ass walked in front of a camera and 5 minutes later he found us. He was not a happy camper
For this place I probably would try to get permission to go back just because there was so much that we did not get to see and things from back in the day untouched
Please go back and drone the whole place. I was there during the summer of 1977. I have seen several videos and no one has come across the staff sleeping quarters known as the bowling alley. Massive interiors of the movie house the main building and the cabins have been done. There must be 20 videos on you tube.I remember it well. The bowling alley, the softball field, the main building and the back where the day camp was. Your video was too fast but with the amount of anxiety I can totally understand with the patrols. Please drone it very slowly for about an hour if possible. I was there from 7/1/77 to 9/6/77.
Wow that's cool you got history with this place, when I go back in the area I'll get some drone shots hopefully and not run into anyone, right now Im a little paranoid to go back for now
It's all abandoned but that was the care taker of the property, there is a couple of guys that patrol it, I had a feeling we were going to bump into one of them
5 people all spread out loudly talking and way too much gear, surprised you didn’t get caught sooner. Y’all went in like you were invited. Been in unity 3 times and never got caught.

My mother and father used to go there. My mother worked in a dress factory in PA.
Resort owned by the International Ladies Garment Workers Union

By any chance was it an old guy in a blue Subaru Outback? We met him about 10mins in and he yelled every swear word possible at us lol.

Glad I'm not the only one he went nuts on... 😅
The guy we ran in to was a jerk…he thought we were going to steal some of his nasty mold.
Damn, that place is one of the hardest places to check out. I think the guy has trail cams cause he seems to find everyone lol.

Lovely work nonetheless, keep it up lads!

Maybe you could try reaching out beforehand to get permission and go back?

Was he real security or just some random guy Marty ? The area looks totally abandoned.

Haha, I know right. Always wanted to go there. seems like an amazing place to photograph!
Wow short lived. Lol
Around 40 mins in and that happened lol
