This brings back memories of my childhood (50's/60's). You're spearing deep there. The thing I liked best about spearing was the element of surprise. One never knows what's going to come in. Back in the 60's, a giant sturgeon came into my hole and just settled on the bottom to watch my decoy. I've seen videos of sturgeons in spearing holes and they were all minnows compared to the one that came into my spearing hole. Great video!
Folks just wanted to let you know that after i speared my first fish I contacted the MN DNR and got the accurate regulations for spearing Northern Pike, Only One Fish is Allowed in the Protected slot between 22" and 26". Please check the regulations for your area. Mike From Minnesota

Dale thanks for your comment, spearing is really fun. it reminds me of bow hunting. its a rush when that Northern come in to the decoy.

YOU SHOULD NO THE RULES BEFORE YOU GO OUT SPEARING, TRY GETTING THAT SPEAR FURTHER IN THE WATER BEFORE DROPPING.
First throw, didn't have the spearhead all the way under the water, they heard it before the spear reached them

I know that sucker is a decoy but what if it gets eaten by a pike? Maybe it's just me but I'd get a couple.
I’ve had Pikes hit the sucker and it survived but if it really gets a hold of it. I get the Pike ha.
